Helix pen not traveling across the entire screen

Hello,
Recently received my Helix, and I absolutely love it. Have encountered a serious issue, though. Often when I remove the pen, its range of motion is limited to a small square in the corner nearest the pen silo. I can move the pen cursor within that small square, but the system doesn't let me move it outside those invisible limits. Reboot fixes it until the next time I pull the pen out of its silo.

Is there any progress on a fix? It will be difficult to justify keeping this machine if I have to reboot to use the pen.

Yes, the Wacom driver has issues with booting with the pen in the tablet.  That turns the tablet pen system off.  You can either uninstall the wacom drivers or be sure the pen is removed when the system restarts.  It should keep working after the tablet sleeps without first removing the pen.

  • While playing an online flash game, the system froze, and a barred pattern flashed across the entire screen.

    I was forced to shut down the laptop using the power button. After starting up again, I was later playing the same game, and the system froze, The same barred pattern covered the screen, and this time the system emitted a loud beep, in patterns of 3, and continued to do so until i shut down the system with the power button.
    Later, while running Windows 7 via boot camp, encountered a similar problem. The entire screen was covered in multicolored noise, and then crashed within a few seconds.
    More on the barred pattern while in OS X:
    The bars are multicolored vertical bars, spread across the screen in probably aproximately 50x10px rectangles, evenly spaced, probably 10px vertically, and 50px horizontally. This is not an exact description, but the best I can serve from memory. Will provide better description after reproducing error.
    Given that a similar error occured in both OS X and Windows, I would assume this is a hardware issue.

  • TS3274 I have a new iPad mini w/retina display.  Recently, the screen flickered with red lines across the entire screen.  Anyway, the screen eventually went black. Now it does't work.  Anyone have any suggestions?

    My screen just went haywire.  The screen flickered with red strips vertically.  I thought it was part of the game I was operating until the screen went black and a white strip illiminated at the top.  I tried turning teh system off, but it would not allow me to turn it off.  After about 5 minutes, I was able to turn it off.  Anyone have this occur?  The Ipad mini appears to be ok now.

    In my situation, the screen simply started exhibiting the same symptoms a few weeks ago (early February) for no apparent reason.  At first I thought the screen was dead, but discovered the heat solution by accident.  Now I turn it on and keep it from going to sleep until I go to bed.  Thank goodness the battery is still awesome on this thing.
    I bought it new and still has the original screen, I keep it at home (never below 62 degrees).  Coincidentally, this happened a day or two after the expiration of the warranty!!  Any help figuring this one out would be eternally appreciated.

  • I just burned a movie in iDVD and in playback there is a flashing/strobing green across the entire screen.  This pulsating color field is there the entire length of the recording.  Any ideas what I did wrong?

    I have idvd 7.0.4 and I loaded a movie from imovie to idvd then burned it to dvdr 4.7G and when I play back I get this pulsating green color over the movie image.  Theis color is the same as a green-screen and there is quite a bit of green screen work in the film.  Any ideas what is happening in the burn process?

    The workflow I suggest you follow is:
    1 - save the project as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option.
    2 - mount the disk image on your Desktop and play it with DVD Player to assure youself that it plays correctly. This tells you the encoding was good.
    3 -  burn to disk with Disk Utility at the slowest speed available, 2x or 4X,  to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatium, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

    That monitor supports both (digital) DVI and (analog) VGA connections, so you should not need a converter or use a different adapter.
    You should use the Apple Supplied HDMI to DVI Adapter and a (digital) DVI cable to the monitor.

    If you can get to the settings on the AppleTV attempt to adjust the resolution settings to something more appropriate.

  • Why do all my photos (but one!) not take up the entire touch screen?

    I've been trying to figure this out for some time with no luck.
    I have a very nice DSLR camera but I tend to use all the preset buttons. My photos always show up as a "square" shape when using things like the Apple TV photo display and on the ipod touch.
    Recently we spent 3 weeks at the beach and I changed no settings on the camera during that trip. One photo out of almost 400 taken is more "rectangular" such that when I flip my ipod touch, this photo will change and take up the entire screen with no black edges. All of the other photos have blank edges/square shape.
    My old cheap Kodak digital camera takes up the entire screen with all photos on the touch and the ATV. A friend shot some photos and his takes up the entire screen as well. Mine are always square, except for this odd one.
    When I "get info" in iphoto, a sample of about 10 photos from this bunch from the beach show size 2032 x 1354, if that matters.
    Any info?

    More info: Looking through the photos, I noticed there was a change in the settings during the trip as there is a point where all the photos take up the entire screen. I don't know how to check the settings that were in place but the difference is:
    Square shape: size: 3200 x 2400, and about 1.1 MB per photo.
    Rectangular shape: size 2032 x 1354 at about 446 KB per photo.
    I'm a novice at the particulars behind the photos but I'd like a good quality picture that isn't square but rather takes up the entire screen.

    Thanks for the note. I looked up online and you are correct...the aspect ratio for my camera is indeed 4:3. I see in my camera settings where I can change the size of the photos but I've played around with that stuff and seen no difference in the aspect ratio.
    I guess I'm stuck with what I've got?
    I tried converting some of them with iphoto to a different aspect ratio and I don't think that's possible either.

  • IOS 8 iPad 3 in landscape - safari will not fit across the screen

    While using iOS 8 iPad 3 in landscape - Safari Google searches will not fit across the screen. It use to and still does on my iPhone 5 using same iOS 8.

    I Had probably 50 shortcuts that I used constantly. Now I need to delete most of them. I was tired of typing my email addresses and home address etc so I devised shortcuts for them. With iOS 7 I could enter a shortcut and choose to use it or not while typing.

    ok, since you are saying that my theme is a lightweight theme, are there "heavy weight themes" that would also theme the 'content' areas?

    I presume you are runnning iTunes on either an OS X 10.7 or OS X 10.8 system. Move the cursor to the very top of the screen so that the menu bar appears, then click the blue box with the arrows at the very right corner of the menu bar, or press Shift-Command-F. That will switch iTunes back to a normal window, which it should then remember for future launches.

    Frequent problem on 2006 17" imac!
    Most of the time, it's a defective LCD panel.
    To validate if it is the LCD panel or the graphic card, you can take a screen shot (cmd+Shift+3) and see if the problem is visible on the screen shot.
    If it is not visible, then it's most likely the LCD panel.
    This can be confirmed by connecting an external display to your iMac.
    If it works well, then it's the LCD panel that is defective.

  • I have Aperture 2.1.4 on iMac OS X 10.4.1. I am getting a pattern across the entire image after clicking on a image in the browser in all projects.

    Images look fine in Browser. When I click to enlarge I get a pattern across the entire image. This is true in all projects.
    Out of curiosity when I sent the image via email w pattern showing on screen the email is fine-no pattern.

    This may be an issue with the pde plugins. PDE stands for print dialog extension and are included with vendor drivers to provide access to printer features not supported by the core printing system. If you are using a Power PC driver (or sharing it from the G4 to the MacTel) then that may be a possible cause. See if HP offers a Universal Binary driver for your model.

    Ok, here is what I have so far. Appdelete the iWork and reinstalled. Pages and Number work, but not Keynote.
    Now, I downloaded a couple apps that I need, and no matter what I did, the spinning ball came up and the download stopped till it unlocked itself. It is really frustrating because the download was not completed and whatever came through would not mount. Could this issue be the internet connection? Permission fix showed a lot of Airport issues. I will try to run permissions fix again.
