Helix Touch pad - right click issue

Hi,
I bought my Helix about a year ago.
Today, suddenly the right click just stopped to work (I mean the button on the right-down area of the touch pad).
It's a HARDWARE problem: first it was not clickable, and now the button goes down, but without the normal "click" sound. Seems like it is stuck down and the area around the right button isn't functional to click anymore.
First I thought it was some dirt inside, but it doesn't seems to be a dirt problem... the button just stuck
Any thoughts?
Should I open it? If so, what are the procedure?

  • W520 - touch pad left click issue

Earlier today my left touch pad mouse click started to stop functioning correctly. It will only work correctly every 8 to 15 times it is clicked leaving it unresponsive and unpredictable. The right works perfectly fine as do the trackpad buttons. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and have sprayed compressed air under the key.
I had a similar problem with the laptop when i first got it but at that time the touch pad itself as well as the left click did not function properly. The face plate was replaced which fixed the issue.
Is there anything i can do software wise that might fix the problem before i have to pay to fix the hardware?

    Hi Tony
If the unit is not the old one you should contact your local dealer or maybe Toshiba service partner in your country. Your unit has a valid warranty and you can ask them if there is a possibility to do something about that.

  • Ideapad S415 Touch trackpad right click issue

The problem is that when I press the right mouse button nothing happens. I don't get the dropdown menu. I am able to get it by using thw two finger tap gesture and with an external mouse. Oddly enough I can two finger tap right on the rigth mouse button itself but I can't click it.
I know the button is working but I don't know what happened. I updated the drivers frim the support page and this happened. I tried to look through the mouse properties from the control panel but could not find anything that would disable my right mouse button. when I press the right mouse button, on the "Buttons" tab on the properties, the button configuration menu switches to "other pointing devices. Suggesting that the right mouse button is not connected to the trackpad???
I Can't for the life of me find another person with a simlar situation so I must ahve done soemthing so obvous and wrong. I would glady appreciate any suggestions to solve my predicament. Thanks.

I also had these problems initially. I guess you have already run Lenovo system update and you have the latest driver (I have 17.0.12.52). In any case, I would recommend to run system update to get all latest drivers first. Meanwhile, this is working for me (could be that I just got used to it ). What works best for me is to use index and ring finger for the two finger click. For most people index and middle finger have quite different lengths, so there is a higher probabiliy that you are missing the time window for doing a two finger touch and instead end up with two consecutive one finger events (which then corresponds to a left click). Hope this helps.

  • Ideapad S400 left touch pad and clicker not working

I've had this device for less than a year now, and all of a sudden the left touch pad and clicker are not properly working. If i try to click on something sometimes it doesnt work. I've tried about anything I can think of to see if it would help and so far nothing is working. Now let me mention that it doesnt happen all the time sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt.

Yes I installed the right drivers before trying to dual-boot with Linux. The issue was there from the beginning. But the issue appears only after 1 or 2 hours of use. It was mandatory for me to install Linux, for my studies. So I hope it doesn't break the warranty, because it would be unfair for people who need to do what I did.
The problem is that I am right now in Finland, but I am French and I bought my netbook when I was in France. So if I send it back to HP France, it will take weeks and weeks to get it back here, and shipping cost will be really expensive, and I will be without computer during several weeks, which is impossible for me as I need it for my studies. That is why I want to go to HP Finland and ask them. I know I could call them but the last timeI called HP France, I waited for hours and didn't get any answer on the phone.

  • Right click issues on Satellite P50T-B

I don't know how to change the setting so that I can have a traditional right click on the touch pad.
I know that you can press with both fingers to do some functions like a right click, but when I am using Microsoft word or Facebook I cannot figure out how to right click a misspelt word and see how its spelt. When I right click a work in word or facebook the cursor changes to the scrolling.
Please help, it is getting really annoying taking a minute to figure out how to spell a word because I cant right click
    Thanks!

    Hi Thomas.
Go to control panel -> mouse
Here you would find some standard options to control the USB mouse and touchpad.
In order to find some advanced touchpad control settings, you should go to last tab.
I guess your notebook supports ELAN touchpad and therefore the last tab should be called ELAN
Within this tab you have to click on Options button.
Now new window (ELAN smart pad) would open providing different control options.
In One finger tab you would find the option to control the tapping, clicking, drag and drop, edge scroll.
Additionally you find the tabs for Multi-finger and Additional features.

  • Satellite C655-S9521D Touch Pad Left Click not Working !

My Laptop (Satellite C655-S9521D) left click in touch pad not working from yesterday.
But i can move the cursor using touch pad. I think it just happened after disconnecting the wired mouse.
    Looking for great support soon.
    Have a good day!

Do you mean the physical button or that tapping on the touchpad doesn't work?

  • Magic mouse right click issue

I just bought the new iMac 3 weeks ago with the magic mouse which I LOVE. But in the past week I have lost the right click function 3 times now. It acts like the right click option is turned off, which I verified and tried to reset and set back which didn't work.
The only way to reactivate the right click function is to reboot the machine entirely. I also tried to turn off and back on the mouse which didn't work and I had to get another mouse to even reboot after that!
The only thing that has changed is that I installed VMWARE fusion (which is hella cool!) and transferred my old XP image to. It seems to stop working after i have been using my XP or Win7 virtual machine after a while. Not always the case but the only thing I can think of that has changed or I am doing differently.
Any help on the subject would be great! Even a work around to get it working again without rebooting the machine would help.
Thanks in advance for you help!
    Jay

I'm not sure what all of those startup items do, but since none are obvious suspects, what you may want to do is remove them all (except iTunes Helper). In order to add them back later, you can right-click on each item and select +Reveal in Finder+, to see where the item is located. Note down the locations.
After you remove them from the +Login Items+ list, restart (or log out and log back in). Those login items should not be running anymore. See if that resolves the Magic Mouse issue. If it did not, you can add the items back. If it did resolve the problem, I guess you'll have to find the culprit by going to the locations noted earlier and starting one item up at a time, until the Magic Mouse problem returns.
Separately (you can try this first), when I make a change to my mouse settings (although I don't have a Magic Mouse), this is the preference file that changes
    <user home folder>/Library/Preferences/com.apple.driver.AppleHIDMouse.plist
In case that file is corrupted in some way that prevents the right click from being set, move it to the Desktop. Then go to System Preferences Mouse pane and set it up as desired, including the right click. A new preference files should be created. See if the mouse now works properly.
Those are the two approaches I would take initially, checking the login items and the most obvious user preference file.

  • VMWare mouse right click issue

    Hey all,
I am having an issue with right click in vmware using XFCE for arch. when i right click the menu gets brought up fine but it almost instantly selects the first option in the menu. if i move the mouse in the opposite direction of the menu really fast while right clicking or if i hold down the right mouse button it does not select the first option. to me it seems like the timer for function that selects the option under the pointer when you release the mouse button is called too fast. Any ideas how to fix this?
    Thanks,
    Hemmar

For VMware related posts, maybe it's a good idea to include the following information
    - Which VMware product: player, workstation, esxi and which version
    - Using open-vm-tools or vmware tools
    - Using vmwgfx ?
    Important in your case:
    edit or create /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-gpudriver.conf
    Section "Device"
           Identifier "Card0"
           Driver     "vmware"
    EndSection

  • Fixed right-click issue in Save/Open Dialogue Photoshop crash

Not sure where to post this, so I also started this new Topic...
I have to share this somewhere...
I've been dealing this problem for months and I finally fixed it on my own.
My Antivirus, AVG, which is great, except for this glitch, was the root cause of the issue.
History:  If I right-clicked a file in my Save/Open Dialogue Photoshop (CS6 Extended) would crash.. for the last few months, actually...  If I avoided right-clicking I'm ok, but my instincts are to organize, rename, etc. while in the save/open pop-up window ... So I've often crashed Photoshop when all I do is right-click on a file in the list of files...
Well, I figured out the cause of the glitch:
"Permanently Shred with AVG” .. this option, added without my knowledge during an AVG update, was added around the same time this problem started (realizing this in hindsight).. THIS was conflicting with my Adobe Photoshop file explorer window in the Save/Open dialogue!!! After months of trying to figure this out, this is definitely the solution.
Once I turned that AVG Shell Extenstion off.... I am now able to right-click files in Photoshop save/open pop-up window again without it crashing…  finally !!!!
...hope this helps folks even if it's just a related clue to other issues....
Basically ,run command prompt as Administrator, then type:
    For 32-bit :  regsvr32 /u “C:\Program Files\AVG\AVG2014\avgse.dll”
    For 64-bit:   regsvr32 /u “C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG\AVG2014\avgse.dll”
I found this info about turning off  "Permanently Shred with AVG" option at this link: http://techdows.com/2013/09/avg-2014-how-to-remove-permanently-shred-with-avg-option-from- context-menu.html

  • Revisiting the Right-click issue

I know about the issue with right-click in Captivate, so I put all my files for the client to review on my own website, so right-clicking works fine, and I have verified this on multiple computers.
However, my client is telling me that on her computer the right click does not work.  Since it is running from a web server I am not sure why that is, or what may be the problem.  The only issues I had dealt with before were running from a local or networked drive.
Is there anything she should try to make this work?
    Thanks.

Ask her to get some other coworkers at her site to test the same link.  If they all report the same issue then you may have something in her Standard Operating Environment that is causing this issue.  If they can use right-click but she cannot, then it could be something to do with her user profile.

  • Right-Clicking Issue

When I click on a clip in my timeline, a dialogue box of the color selector appears. If i click "OK" it pops up an additional dialogue box to "NAME YOUR NEW COLOR MATTE". After this process it allows me to select from my right-click menus. If i click "CANCEL" on the initial color selector dialogue box it repeatadly brings a new color selector window up.
This happens EVERY time I right-click on a clip in the timeline, very VERY frustrating.

    NEW SIDE NOTE>
When the program is first opened it appears to only cause the issue when I right-click on a clip, of which, I have changed the label color. (i.e. from generic default color to mango etc.) When I right-click on a clip that is still labled with the generic default color (i.e. Iris for video, rose for after effects etc.) the issue seems to resolve for the rest of the session. The issue occurs on open and is fixed with I right-click on a clip that has its default color label.

  • Right Click Issue

When I right click in Bridge to open a photo, the only option I get is to open in Microsoft Photo RAW Viewer. I have both PS/CS4 installed and Lightroom 2.2. Any suggestions as to what I can do to change this so I can make a selection?

I grasp that your TouchPad is slow in responding to right and left clicks.
When I looked at the specifications for your notebook I see it came with Free Dos.
Here is a link to Using and Configuring the TouchPad (Windows 7 and Vista) that should help set the sensitivity.
Here is a link to  HP 15-r074tu Notebook PC Drivers. Please ensure that you have all the drivers updated and have installed the Simplepass software as well.
