Helix2 - WLAN issues after connected standbay

Hello,since I have bought my Helix 2 in February, I constantly have problems with the WLAN connection after the Helix resumes from connted standby. I already installed all driver updates, however non of them was able to completly fix the problem. Either the Helix shows limited connectivity or no networks can be found. Depending on the installed update the former or latter issue occurs. In order to fix these problems I need to deactivate and reactivate the intel wirless device. Thank you for your help!

We did make some mileage on this issue in the past week.  After replacing motherboards (which didn't help) and even depoting a unit, the fix below appears to be working. Do the following: 1)  Install the latest drivers from Lenovo directly (not using the automatic update utility)   
https://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/n1gw202w_64.exe 2)  During that install, choose repair.  You will notice that several files that were missing will be detected and installed, including a few .dlls 3)  After that install you will notice that the lenovo update utility will detect that you need to update the software. Go ahead and let it do the update.

  • N97 mini WLAN-Issues after 12.0.110-Update

    Never had issues with WLAN-connection on old fw. Did switch off-on already both, the WLAN-Router and the N97mini. Do not want to make a reset because then i have to re-install everything again......
    I can usually connect once, for a short time, for one action. (Like synch Favourites with OVI-Maps). After that no chance any more for several minutes.
    When i go to connectivity-wlan it says "no wlan available", even after rescan.
    I simply have to wait for half an hour, then i can connect again, for one action.
    Anybody having the same issue?

    Same problem here.  Just upgraded to the N97 Mini from the E61.
    I first noticed it in the pre-installed Podcasting (which I listen to 2+ hours a day).  Downloads seem to hang after about 10-15 meg of the download is complete.  I then noticed it in Ovi when trying to download a video and it would hang during the download as well.
    In Podcasting, I have to keep the connection manager open so I can disconnect the connection, then reconnect again in Podcasting.  It is very frustrating as an hour long podcast takes three cycles to complete!  Please help us Nokia!
    In Ovi - you just can not download large files.
    BTW - I have a D-Link Router in case there seems to be some type of compatibility issue?  No way to test on another WLAN connection at this point.
    This is the only major issue that I have identified so far since owning the phone (unless one counts that the phone is absent an automatic polisher/fingerprint remover).
    Patient for now - waited to buy this phone instead of getting an eye-moan.  Please fix the WLAN issue.

  • E71 wlan issue after firware upgrade

    I just upgraded by E71 to the latest software version. The upgrade went without any issues. After the upgrade I realised that t had removed all my contacts - so I had to restore my backup(I restored the SETTINGS as well). I was using a app for my 'WiFi' (for prioritizing my access points) and after the firmware upgrade - I could not see this app at all. The following are my issues now:
    1. I cannot connect to my home wifi(WEP) - it was fine before the upgrade. The first time it says - 'Connection not available' and every subsequent time it irritates by showing 'WLAN already active. Please close the connection and retry'.
    2. I have tried to restore the factory settings and it still does not work.
    3. I have renamed my Access point to the ones that the app was using - still no luck.
    So, what are my options now? Can somebody please help? I never thought a small software upgrade could spoil my whole evening!

    I have just had EXACTLY the same problem.
    I have a Nokia E71 and it was working OK before the upgrade. I just used the latest Nokia Updater and latest nokia pc suite to upgrade to 500.21.009.
    The upgrade performed perfectly, and after the upgrade I restored my backed up data.
    I have the exact symtpoms as psankar. I have factory reset the phone and tried again. Same problem.
    Connection not available, and then connection already active. Small Wireless icon appears at top right of screen, and stays there, but there is no active connection in connection manager.
    The only way to remove the wifi icon and to get the phone to attempt to reconnect is to power off the phone, but then on reconnectig then you get connection not available and then the whole cycle begins again.
    Help appreciated

  • Music Issue after connecting to iTunes 11 on iPhone5

    I plugged my iPhone into the new iTunes ver 11.1.1.11 and after it went through the normal backup/sync, I found I was unable to transfer any music to my phone.  After I unplugged the phone, I found that all my music was gone with the exception of a few songs that were stored in the cloud.   When I plugged my iPhone back into iTunes, iTunes still shows all my songs and playlists.   Does anyone know what is causing this???

    It's important that you have a steady WiFi connection, ZealousEdge. What phone do you have? Is your phone unable to connect to any WiFi network? If you can, please try deleting the saved WiFi network and re-adding it.

    Hi, try this first...
    Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.

After going through the issues with apple support, they decided the best course of action was to erase the hard drive and do a reinstall. Since I have a recent backup this seemed like a good enough option. They were kind enough to send me a copy of the snow leopard disk to do the install since we couldn't get it to complete through the disk utility. Not sure why, since it says we are fully connected, it just never completed.
    Anyway, so now that you have the background here is the new issue. The macbook pro keeps spitting out the disk I'm trying to install from. Disk utility and using the 'Startup Disk' function from the apple menu doesn't read the disk.
    Can anyone suggest a solution to this vexing problem?

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app

        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

    Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • Portege M400 - WLan issues connecting Orange Livebox

    Hi
    My landlord recently upgraded our WLan by introducing an Orange Livebox. I have tried everything possible to connect wirelessly to the router but to no avail.
    All the other machines have connected with no/little issue/s. I have installed Configfree again, tried connecting through the Windows system as per instruction by Orange website, re-typed the WEP code several times. Tweaked the network connections, Installed the new Intel drivers and installed the Orange Livebox software. I'm running out of options very fast.
    The wireless connection is found, it tries to connect but will not give me a network address, even with the lights flashing (as per Orange instructions), yet when connected through an Ethernet cable there is no problems what so ever.
    I have had a look through the forum and found nothing that exactly matches my problem and tried to implement those suggestions that sound familiar but nothing has worked. Failing any advise, I will just have to phone either Toshiba, or Orange up for advice, however, I would like to be spared long conversations with people in Technical support.
    I have a Portege M400 with an Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG built in adapter.
    Any suggestions anyone?

    In such cases its not easy to say why it happens.
    One of my notebooks is not able to connect the WLan router because the router supports Wlan 802.11 BG mode and my Wlan card support A and B mode.
    But you should firstly check if the Windows firewall was disabled. Then disable the encryption on the router and try to connect the notebook without the encryption.
    Sometimes the MAC address filtering was set on the WLan routers. In such cases only the registered WLan cards can connect to the WLan router.
    I would recommend disabling all filters, encryptions and then trying to connect to the wireless LAN. If you will be able to connect the router then you could enable the encryption again.

    There is no bluetooth connectivity issue after the recent OS update. There may be a problem with your phone, which may or may not be related to the update. A "common problem" looks like this in the forums:
    I haven't seen any threads on BlueTooth with over 1.4 million views and over 12,000 replies, or even any vaguely close. For any problem that someone has there is bound to be someone else amoung 150 million users who have it. That doesn't make it a "common problem."
    If you tell us what the problem is specifically and what you have done so far to try to resolve it someone can probably help you.

    I really hope someone can help me. Ive been trying to download the newest ios 7 for 2 days. It always starts very slow and says it will take up to 5 hours. IT ususally downloads for about 2 hours before showing an error and claiming |II have newtwork setting issues or connectivity problems but my internet connection is fine.     1.Turn off your device. If you can't turn it off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time and wait a few seconds for it to turn off.
    2.Plug the device's USB cable into your computer only.
    3.Hold down the device's Home button as you connect the USB cable to it.
    4.When you see the Connect to iTunes screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 one more time.
    5.Use iTunes to restore your device.
    Additional Information:
    If you started your device in recovery mode by mistake, restart it to exit recovery mode. Or you can just wait—after 15 minutes the device will exit recovery mode by itself. If you want a faster way to solve iPad Stuck in Recovery Mode, try iPad data recovery software.

  • FWSM on 6500 TCP connection issues after crash on primary

    I'm experiencing a rather strange issue that has me stumped.
    We are running an FWSM on a 6509 with a SUP720. Firmware 3.2(18), in MultiContext Routed Mode, with shared MSFC.
    Everything runs fine on this baby most of them time, however occasionally without warning and with no specific pattern the Primary node will fail (as in completely stop responding) and the secondary will takover as active.
    Two get the primary up agian, I reset the hw-module and then no failover active on the secondary to return the primary as active. However, after this event, I start to experience strange issues with connectivity. Certain TCP src dst combinations will just not work. Take the following example:
    A TCP/1433 connection from Inside IP: 10.3.3.196 to outside IP: 10.252.20.63, logs look like this:

    However I create a specific ACL on the upstream routers interface, to see if I get any matches and the traffic is not even leaving the 6509. I can however ping the remote device without any issues. And I can confirm that the xlate has been built.
    This connection was working fine prior to the crash, and the ACL rules are correct and do allow the connection on both the local FWSM and the remote firewall.
    Currently my only resolution is to  reboot the FWSM on both nodes at the same time so that we have a complete fresh start. This is not ideal!
    Anyone know of issues like this? Any suggestions for workarounds or perhaps ways to troubleshoot the reason for the crash?

    Perhaps, this could be a hardware related issue concerning your Primary FWSM. However, before we can conclude that, could you upgrade your FWSM to the latest image v4.1.7?

  • Atheros WLAN Driver Fixes Connection Issues With Many New Routers (Linksys, Netgear, D-Link, etc...)

    This post is for those that have the below listed Atheros adapters, and recently upgraded their routers (usually from a Wireless G to a Wireless N router from 2009 or newer), only to find they cannot connect to the internet anymore.
    Atheros AR5006 802.11a/b/g WiFi Adapter
    Atheros AR5007 802.11b/g WiFi Adapter
    Atheros AR5009 802.11a/g/n WiFi Adapter
    When using their old equipment, there were no problems.
    Symptom:  When upgrading to a new router, normally connection is made to the local network, but one cannot access the internet.
    Symptom:  Wireless connects if using WEP security or no security, but will not connect when using WPA2-Personal security.
    For those who have the above Atheros wireless adapters, and are experiencing issues with connecting to the internet, there is a driver available that should remedy the situation. 
    It is good for Windows operating systems -- Windows XP through Windows 7 -- 32 or 64 bit.
    It may work on Windows 8 too, but I haven't tested it on Windows 8.
