I meet some issues when I want to create legacy android app on your DPS app builder AIR.
When i finish the build process, the creation notify a failure...
Yesterday, it was working perfectly well but not today..
is that a server issue ?

I'm going to guess that you are unable to open a psd file because your trial period has ended.
A solution would to open the PSD file in the free program irfanview, and save as a JPG

However irfanview is only available in English and Deutsche languages. You will probably be able to find similar applications in your own language.

DPS / InDesign - Automatic iterative button naming

Hello DPS team. Is there currently a way to disable the automatic process that happens when a button is duplicated (via copy/paste or alternate layouts)?
Currently, button names get a number appended to the end when they are duplicated. For analytics purposes we need to maintain the name of the buttons without the appended number. This causes us to have to go in and rename each button (bad for automation). Is there somewhere where this preference can be set? If not, is it possible to add it to a feature wish-list somewhere?

That is an InDesign issue, not DPS, and there’s no way to change the behavior.

DPS Builder expired

I'm experiencing the same issue. Tried three browsers, clearing cache, and the problem persists.
Version it keeps downloading is DPSAppBuilder-2.9.0.r29.12.dmg.
I logged on to https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com and got this message.
"The Adobe DPS v30 update will be made available at approximately 11:00am PST on Saturday, March 15th. Check http://status.adobedps.com for the latest updates."

Simplified DPS License Model

Hello, every body Please, anyone knows how about the apps produced with Professional account already, with the new Adobe DPS business model. I have some apps and I would like to know if I can update and publish new folios for them "Effective December 1, 2014 Adobe is simplifying DPS licensing with the removal of download fulfillments and moving to a per app license model. The new license will have a fixed price per app fee for the term of the agreement regardless of fulfillment usage. As part of this improvement, we are removing the download counter and disabling the fulfillment warning expiration messaging. No services or features will be affected by the new pricing model. All customer agreements will remain in place. For additional information, please contact your Adobe representative or reseller near the end of the term of your agreement. Customers who entered into a multi-year agreement and agreed to purchase download fulfillment bundles each year are still obligated to purchase those bundles at the price and schedule specified in the agreement. If customers exceed their current fulfillment bundle agreement going forward, they will not need to purchase additional fulfillments. Team Calendars - How to show a managers team calendar when that manager reports to you

If a manager has other managers that report to them, is it possible to have the lower level manager's "team calendars" show up in the higher level manager's Outlook 2010 calendar view. Or are these other team calendars going to have to be
manually created and maintained?

A team calendar is tied to the mailbox owner's manager's direct team only. It will be automatically showed in users' calendar. If you want to view a team calendar of another manager, a workaround is create a calendar group and share calendar.

I want to tell short story what happened and I really hope you could help me.
One day I was buying cellphone from a guy who I met in Skype.
The phone, which I bought from him, was stolen, and now, after ~3-4 month, police called that I'm a suspect !
The problem is - I have deleted that guy from my skype friends, and the only way to solve this problem is to 'renew' my friends list, from 2011.06.01 to 2011.08.30.
I need to find this guy, find our chat and give his number and evevery single word in the chat to police.
I have a hope, that it is possible to do that, otherwise they won't have any information about him, and I will be named as a thief...

Members of the team working with different version of indesign

Currently, all the members of DPS team in my company use Indesign 5.5.
Up to now, Our client sent the original indesign files of paper magazine in version 5.5 or lower format. So no problem until now.
The client want to add different magazine in DPS, so we got another bunch of Indesign files of different magazine. But we couldn't open any files because it was made from newer version of Indesign.
So we planned one memeber of the team to upgrade Indesign CC5.5 to CCT.
Here is the question.
If member A uses Idesign version 5.5 and member B uses Indesign CC and they are making one magazine together, is there no problem at all?

@Chris – If you stay with InDesign CC producing the folio, you should have no trouble (other than changes in text composition).
If you want, for any reason, go back to InDesign CS5.5 through IDML, you could get into trouble:
1.1 Some CC features are not present in CS5.5
1.2 Text could flow differently according to changes in the text composition engines of the two versions
2. ADPS in CC vs ADPS in CS5.5 might apply different properties (different inserted label names) to the overlays. That might mean that you will have to redo overlays in CS5.5 already finished in CC.
I'm uncertain about this particular point. You have to test that thoroughly…
And more: IDML will carry on the different labels (the overlay features applied to page items). You cannot clear them on an object level (other than editing the IDML or an exported IDMS). So if you do one part of the job (doing overlays) in CC, hand over the IDML to CS5.5, do some new overlays there and go back to CC, the overlays could get messed up a lot. (I cannot not test that scenario, but you should do…)
Maybe someone from Adobe could chime in and clarify #2.

What's the function of "Team Role" in Team configuration.
For example, go to Account Detail page, click "Add Users" button in Account Team section, there's a dropdown list named "Team Role".
In help document, it says:
To explain the role the linked record plays in relation to the main record, select an option from the Team Role drop-down list.
But I don’t understand, can anyone explain this for me?

Team Roles are the access you define to a user you associate to a record. Lets say there are 3 user's A,B and C. If you want to associate All threeto an Account but each should have different access to that account. like A can have Edit, B Edit and delete and C only read only access. so for each user your associating you can control the access exclusively

Adobe DPS Product Catalogs and Apple

I wanted to get some feedback from other DPS users and possibly Adobe. We have a large customer that has asked us to convert their national product catalog into a DPS version. We have integrated audio, video, 360 degree product views and other exciting interactive features. In addition next to many of the items we have plans to add a button that takes the user to the website for more information and ultimately click through to buy the products.
Adobe in much of their marketing materials and case studies mention the DPS platform as being perfect for product catalogs. Beyond the spec work we have done for this client if authorized to move forward does anyone know if Apple would reject a product catalog. There are some DPS catalogs in the Apple store but I have heard different opinions as to whether this would be allowed. Again any insight by Adobe or other users would be appreciated.

The customers wouldn't require their own Adobe IDs. They would just need the username and password associated with the acrobat.com account. Anyway, Adobe got rid of the system whereby you could invite only those acrobat.com members that you wished to view your folio via the Content Viewer when they login using their own IDs.
But yeah, all the analytics or whatever wouldn't be available so you'd be out of luck there at least. Still....
Here's the harsh reality:
There is no way that Apple is going to let you publish a catalog app. It's never going to happen, and there's no use in even trying. They've allowed very few of these kinds of 'promotional apps', and have taken many of them down that had been previously allowed. In addition, Adobe has thus far shown that the marketing/brochure/catalog world isn't something they care about. They've opted out of any sort of sideloading option that would allow your client to distribute folios via their own server, and the Enterprise package is so ridiculously priced that all but the most massive companies can't afford it. $5000 a month? Pfft.
Adobe continues to look upon DPS soley as a platform delivery system for magazines, and that's fantastically short-sighted. If I were heading up the DPS team over there, the very first thing I'd do is open the entire platform up to corporations and business who wish to publish in-house and client facing materials. My God, the money to be made with REASONABLY priced Enterprise packages is astounding. I kid you not, I just had 2 meetings today where teams are absolutely loving the DPS platform, but cannot even remotely justify the enormous per month fee associated with the Enterprise package. Adobe forgets that it's individual departments, not the corporation as a whole, that need to foot the bill. Unless you're Conde Nast, I suppose. But for the rest of us who aren't in the publishing industry...
The absolute best thing you could do for your client is direct them to someone who can make a custom app; one that can be distributed from their servers via a web-based registration and download system. If they've got the chops they can even build-in a tracking system. It's going to be far cheaper and way more flexible at this point when compared to Enterprise DPS. Take a cut off the top as a referral fee if need be.

Clarifying exact time May 1 DPS Single Edition deadline

Does the May 1 DPS SE deadline come into effect after midnight April 30; or after midnight May 1? And is that U.S time? I am in Australia and rushing to submit but an exact time on the deadline would be very useful. Thanks v much.
