Hello everybody, Im trying to update my ITunes on my MAC (laptop) to the newer version so I can then be able to update the latest updates for my Iphone-3G. I don’t require a complete reinstall just need to be able to update my itunes.
What I have tried so far is I had my MAC search for update’s and it said that I should update to (ITunes version 10 . 6 . 3 ) So I asked it to do the update but after 2hrs of waiting for it to download/update it then puts up a message saying the following- (In order to continue installation, please close the following application: ITunes).
When I tried to do this another message comes up that says- (The update ITunes can’t be installed. The following install step failed: run preupgrade script for Apple mobile device support. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.)
I have also tried to run the update while having closed ITunes before I even start the update but the same problem happens after waiting about 2hrs.
Some one that had the same problem said this might be happening in the older operating systems. But that does not make sense because surely Apple want customers who own a MAC and i-phone to still buy from iTunes.
My MAC is about 4-5years old. I have a i-phone.3G,

Download iTunes using the tab at the top of this page. Then run the update with iTunes closed.

If I have no music on my iTunes at all and no music on my computer, hard drive or any other version of storage yet there is a playlist on my iPhone. While my iPhone is plugged into my PC and my iTunes is up, is there a way to swap my playlist from my iPhone to my iTunes? Directly? Without downloading some new media source or backing up my old media source from my history. The reason everything was deleted (iTunes and media source) was due to the size of everything and space it was requiring. I am simply trying to get 233 songs from A to B.
I have tried magic but it is not working.

My laptop died so I've installed itunes onto another PC and my music is all on an external hardive which is connected to the new PC. How can I sync my ipod with the new itunes and get all the music onto itunes?
You might consider itunes match for moving CDs you've copied into your itunes library if you dont have a way to use home sharing.
iTunes match is an optional service offered by apple that costs about $25 a year. It scans your music library and if it finds music that is already in apple's itunes catalog it'll automatically "unlock"/"store" these in the cloud for you. First off, when firefox trys to auto update, it fails. It tells me to try and download the new version from mozilla's site. When I try to download the new version I get this: (C:\Users\John\AppData\Local\Temp could not be saved, because you cannot change the contents of that folder.)
This is the same message I have been getting when I try to download other things off the net. (When I use other browsers to download I dont have this problem)Please help.

You are always at risk of losing your music. If you are worried about it now too it means you don't have a backup. Get one. Soon. -
I need to get another version of firefox other than 4.0. due to the version not compatible or is unknown to the java I'm using on my web for online classes.

In most cases you can simply "upgrade" (meaning downgrade) directly from the installation. It would be a good idea to save your passwords & bookmarks just to be on the safe side. -
I can't find any of the tabs for tools to switch to my manual proxy. Also, it disable a lot of tabs I use to have.
You can now find "Options" and all the other common menu commands by clicking on the orange "Firefox" button. Or you can also tap the "alt" key on your keyboard to bring back the old menus like File, Edit, and Tools.

If you have problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version and remove the Firefox program folder to do a clean install of the new version.

I did an update using CC Desktop of all my CC apps. Everything apparently went ok; no errors or warnings. But all my prior inatsallations wher kept in addition to the new ones. How can I uninstall/get rid of the older versions w/o loosing all my settings/prefs etc?
Also CC desktop suggests that I should instll Lightroom 5, which is already installed (and was updated to latest version yesterday, as well).
It seems that soemthing is wrong with either Air or CC desktop: how can I fix this?Jeff, I've already read Julieanne Kost's blog post about this. I could understand this for the move from CS6 to CC last year, because there were a lot of changes under-the-hood, as well as several apps dropped from the suite (Fireworks, Encore). I'm not totally convinced this time round that the number of changes from the latest CC to CC 2014 justify a completely separate install. The only other explanation that I can come up with is that Adobe are not 100% certain that the new features introduced in CC 2014 will work correctly across all users' systems. If that is the case, then surely the answer would be to have an expanded beta-test program, then slip-stream them into users' existing CC installations. As it is, the way CC 2014 is being rolled out means a lot of extra work for users in terms on installation and setup. I'm speaking here as a fan of Creative Cloud - I really feel that this situation is not helping Adobe to sell the benefits of CC to those still on older versions of Creative Suite who have yet to be tempted by the subscription model.

easy directions on how to get some of my (in itunes ) music off mac laptop onto my new iphone 4 s
Sync with iTunes.
Connect the iPhone to the Mac and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPhone name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Music Tab on the right.
Click on all of the albums or playlists that you want to sync - or the entire library if you like.
Click on the Sync Music Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes -

uninstall all the apple application S/w like Quicktime, Bonjour,
apple Device Support, Apple Auto update, Itunes etc from your pc,
Reboot it
Now download a fresh itunes from apple and try installing
Reboot it
If you are having Problem in uninstalling any of the apple application
try 'revo uninstaller' and uninstall all the apple applications

I have done all the steps required to update IOS5 to my iPhone. It did not update automatically. It just updates to 4.2.1 which says is the latest software for my iPhone. Is there any other way to update my iPhone to IOS5?

If your iMac has a PowerPC processor, Leopard OS 10.5.x is the max OS. If your iMac has an Intel processor, it can run Snow Leopard OS 10.6.x or possibly higher.
Once we know your iMac model, we can better recommend what OS X version.
