As shldr2thewheel pointed out, a 2013 MacBook would have shipped with Mountain Lion installed. It is a specialized version for that specific model, so a version of Mountain Lion downloaded from the Mac App Store will not work.
If you ever need to reinstall the OS, just use the built-in recovery partition, or Internet Recovery. -
Does anyone know how to update OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.1. to 10.8.2. on a late 2012 Mac mini. All I get are 'not compatible' messages even using supplementary updates etc?
It appears that many of the problems with the HDMI are the "monitors" that are being used. Samsung and Vizeo both DO NOT support a computer input on HDMI only VGA. There probably are others, manuals must be read to confirm compatability.
I strongly believe that the reason the 10.8.2 update was pulled is due to the fact (it happened to me) that the new Disk Utility creates a Fusion drive if aftermarket SSDs are added to the system. I think Apple wants this propriatary Fusion Drive to be something you buy from them not a "homebrew" for lots less money. -

thanks to all helpersThis would be something you would need to address with your credit card company. Apple cannot tell you who else might have used your card nor what purchases they might have made. Call your credit card company and report the charges as fraudulent. You'll probably need to have them cancel your existing card and issue you a new one.

Ever since i downloaded OSX Mountain Lion, Express VPN no longer works properly for me. Even though it says I am connected, webpages refuse to load. However, connection speed is fine when its turned off. I cannot go on many websites without the VPN. My current location is Shanghai, China. I am having the same issue listed above on my new Mac Mini i just bought, I also contacted Express VPN support and got the same instructions with exception of the command to run in the utilities terminal. I tried the steps listed, and both commands (posted here, and sent to me directly by Express VPN support), and still unable to connect on my Mac Mini running OS X 10.8.2, but I am able to connect on my iPad and my MacBook which is running Mac OS X 10.6.8. Usually Express VPN is spot on with their customer support, but this is taking longer to get resolved. Here is the steps sent to me

Any ideas ?This doesn't work for me at all. I tried entering exactly the same information that I used to set up my regular email account and I'm still getting an error message. I even tried switching to using my gmail account and neither one worked. Then it got hung up and had to repair my database! I have a lot of photos on my Mac (thank goodness they're backed up) and I was really sweating it for a moment.
Apple is so easy until it's not. I find this to be really aggrevating and I'm irritated that it hasn't been fixed. In fact I did an online search and someone described this same problem in detail and it was exactly what was happening to me. Same error messages.
I'm frustrated that Apple keeps updating it's operating system and then we go through these glitches.
And while I'm at it, I have never had such a frustrating time using my login information as I have to get into this forum! Why do they make it so difficult? There's just something about the way it's worded that get's me messed up every time. Meanwhile, at least get iPhoto fixed! -

You are not specific with your problem or errors but one thing that always throws people off is as follows:
When entering you're login name you must use the entire login with carrier name such as [email protected] The field defults to just your name but not the carrier name. -

yes, you can install ML on all the macs you own as long as you use the same Mac App Store ID singing into each of them.

JagRacerApple has taken Mac OS X out of the on-line store with the release of Mountain Lion. Prior to the release you could find/buy the DVD copy of Snow Leopard for $30...now you have to call the Apple telephone order number to buy SL.
The versions of Lion have always only been available through the Mac App Store, whether the download or the flash drive form. Mountain Lion is currently only available in download format, no flash drive format has been released and nothing has been said about doing so.
As Niel pointed out, if you call Customer Service, see http://www.apple.com/contact for the number, with the serial number of your computer Apple will send you the original machine-specific installer disk...there is a fee that I think is around $16 or so for the disk. -
I am in the UK so when i access itunes store i access the UK store. I want to download an album that is not shown in the UK store, but is available in the USA store. Can i still download this. I currently have credit from an itunes voucher.

sprint shouldnt have locked the sim tray anyways and i think this is just wrong because i payed for the phone and should be able to do what i want with it. they say you can unlock the sim card or the tray i guess if you in good standings with the company an apperantly im not so i was wondering if somthing can be done about this because i see no hole or anything to even open the tray someone HELP ME ! please and thank you
No. Nothing can be done about this. It was made clear quite some time ago what the situation was going to be.
Now... That said, if you have an iPhone 4S, there is a SIM tray on the right hand side of the phone.
If you have an iPhone 4 as you indicate, THERE IS NO SIM TRAY. The iPhone 4 is NOT a world Phone. You can only use that phone on Sprint or roam to their CDMA partners where present. The phone will not work at all throughout most of the world, including Europe. -
