Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart (no data will be lost). -

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

I started up the Mini with the modem in one usb, and the speaker system in the other (M-Audio Sonica Theatre) - I have one of the Minis that have only 2 USB (and one FireWire) ports. The firewire has the external drive connected to it.
So far, as I"m typing this, I AM able to be online and use iTunes simultaneously. (both SaFari and iTunes respond slower than if I was using only one or the other, but they ARE actually working - in addition to having Adium running) - So I think what you suggested ( that is was something wonky was the USB hub) was a correct, yet assessment.
Would you have any reccommendations for USB hubs? The only thing that I have connected to the hub under normal circumstances that would be constantly "running" would be the RadioShark (even though the Radio soft isn't playing - the blue light on the RadioShark is always on) - and the speakers naturally. Everything else is of the occassional variety - iPod Sync Cable, Dual Layer External DVD Burner, and a "pass thu" to the USB ports on my Hard Drive Enclosure (which had been unplugged before the problem was noticed). This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
i have been having an issue with updating my ipod touch for some time now and i can not seem to get it to update to the lastest update. it is stuck on 4.2.1 software and i can not update it to 4.3 or any other ios software update. can you please help me to solve this issue.
It sounds like you actually have a 2G iPod Touch which can only go as high as iOS 4.2.1. If it's an 8 GB iPod Touch it's definitely a 2G iPod Touch as there was never such a thing as a 3G 8 GB iPod Touch. See this article to help verify what generation iPod Touch you have.

All apps are DRM protected & tied to the account used to originally obtain them. They cannot be updated using another iTunes account/Apple ID, nor can they be transferred to another iTunes account/Apple ID. You'll have to contact iTunes support, explain the situation & request they add your apps to the download queue of your new Apple ID:

I have always been able to open my emails and access their contents using Firefox. Now, this morning, I can no longer access the contents of my emails, but can still open them.

There are many problems with webmail (especially gmail) lately. It can be caused by the AdBlock extension. If you have it installed here's what to do:
1. "Ctrl+Shift+F" Preferences (or right click on ADP symbol and choose preferences)
2. 'Filters' menu > "Update all subscriptions"

This has been going on for weeks. I've deleted and reinstalled Firefox at least a dozen times.

I've tried everywhere, even technical support but this has been a nightmare. Technical support have been driving me in circles and not getting anywhere.
I purchased an ebook from amazon.com back in 2004. This was fine but in 2008 I brought a new PC as my old one died out. Now I had backed everything up on CD, loaded it back on new PC.
Back then, i don't think this Adobe Digital editions existed, anyhow I can't open the ebook now. Firstly, let me say this, I have already contacted Amazon, they are of no help as they no longer do ebooks and no longer provide support on ebooks. I was told to speak to publisher, publisher said its none of their business as I never purchased it off them and told me to go back to amazon. Technical support are running me in circles telling me to install, reinstall Adobe none of which works.
My question is I have purchased an ebook, why should I not be able to use it?
One point however, I did use a different email address when i purchased the ebook however when contacted customer services that adobe ID no longer exists on their database and the email address I use for adobe digital editions is a different one as I cant use the old one as there is no password for it now.
