Contact that carrier and ask if they offer this service and if you qualify

Once you get it going you need to make sure you do the following so that you can sell the phone.
Turn off imessage in settings/messages
Turn off Facetime in settings/Facetime
Delete icloud account in settings/ilcoud
Erase all data and settings in settings/general/reset
Delete the phone from your profile in https://supportprofile.apple.com -

To access iCloud all your iPhone needs is iOS 5 or later and an Internet connection, either via cell service or WiFi. Then just set up iCloud with the same Apple ID and password you've been using on your iPhone 4.
You might want to consider just getting your iPhone 4 replaced by Apple. Based on the prices I've seen for iPhone 3GS units, Apple's replacement price isn't that much more, and you'll be certain of getting a working, non-hacked iPhone. Apple's replacement price for the iPhone 4 is US $149.

after updating my iphone 3gs from os 4 to os 5.1.1, it left with activating the phone but i've been trying since and is still not activating, the notification given is ''activition server temporarly unavilable". can somebody help me out?
First use JPanel not Panel.
Panel panels[]=new Panel[4];becomes
JPanel panels[]=new JPanel[4];Then refactor your code so that you use arrays correctly:

panels=new JPanel();

I did the above changes to your code and it worked fine.

BRContact the carrier the devices are locked to. Apple has nothing to do with this and will not unlock any iPhone for end users.
If the carrier offers unlocking and you meet their requirements, they will then submit the information to Apple to have the device unlocked. -
I sent an email from my iPhone 3GS (via iCloud account) with around 16GB of attachment. It slowed down the phone for a few seconds, then appeared to be sent. However, the message is now not in the sent box, and I can't see an outbox at all. Any ideas?
That changes things a little bit , login to icloud.com and see if you can find it in your sent folder.
If it is there you did send, just need to wait until you phone syncs "sent folder" perhaps on wifi.
If it is not, then I would say it is lost and you may have to send again. They have 20 megs limit, so make sure that message plus attachment is under that limit. -

I have the same issue exept my phone doesn't ring for incoming calls. I've tried every fix, restored the phone and spent over an hour on the phone with Apple Care doing a second restore. The supervisor told me that he hadn't heard of the issue at all and came to the conclusion that I'd somehow broken the silent switch and that I'd have to pay $150 to have it repaired, despite my insistance that it was obviously a software issue since the problem started immediately after I updated to iOS 6. Total BS. I want this issue resolved immediately considering that the phone is virtually useless to me if I have to carry it around and continually check for notifications and incoming texts, phone calls, etc.

No.

No. To remove a forgotten restrictions passcode requires restoring the device as "New" in iTunes, NOT from backup. -

i just got my ipad 2 and when i go to trun it on it has a picture with itunes prompting me to sync up. When i do this it does not sync up with my itunes. I can not turn my ipad2 on. Any one out there got any answers. Appreciate the help
The first thing that has to be done with a new iPad is to activate it via iTunes. What version of iTunes, and what spec computer, have you got ? The iPad's minimum requirements are (from http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/) :

i have and iphone 3gs that has a code on it. my brother owns it but his ex girlfriend refuses to give him the code. ive disasembled the whole the thing straight down to where theres nothing but plastic theres no reset button unless you unlock the phone. my question is can i disasemble it to where i dont have to buy a brand new motherboard, and if so how do i do it without sending it off to an apple store?

I use Preview to edit photos, and would like to know if there are any updates to this program in the works. It seems Apple is constantly updating its software, except for Preview. I find it crashes all too often, and also takes forever to "catch up" with me (as in spinning beachball of death) when I'm editing a lrge amount of photos. Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Using iphone 3GS and iphone 4 with the same account
I have an iphone 3GS 32GB and yesterday i bought an iphone 4 32GB. I want to know how can i transfer everything from the "3GS" to "4" without loosing any data from applications i had already stored in "3GS". I also would like to know if it is ok to use the two phones with the same iTunes account and if it is possible to use applications i had purchased for the first phone to the second, or i need to buy the applications again.

After you set up your new phone, iTunes will ask you if you want to set it up "as new iphone" or restore it from an existing backup, which in your case would be the latest 3GS backup. So you can use this backup to restore all compatible settings and data to your new phone. See what's inside a backup here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
You can use more than one device in iTunes with the same account, and iTunes will remember the settings for each of those. Applications can also be used on more than one devices, but you'll have to use the same iTunes account. -
Swap Sim between iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4
I am going to purchase an iPhone 4, but must do so under my wife's line due to contract dates. I currently have a 3GS, she has a "standard" phone. She will inherit the 3GS and go with the iPhone data plan. How would this work in regards to the SIM's since the 4 has the mini SIM.
I was told by an Apple Store Genius they would only do the transfer of IMEI and phone #s at the AT&T store. Apple store will not do it.
The preorder receipt is quite clear:
