Downloadede firefox 4 but seem to have a different version. i dont have the firefox tab and it seems like an old beta version.

The ipad 1 is not supported by apples latest software updates. The processor just cannot handle the newest ios. Im sure there are various third party apps in the app store to give you more of a look alike ios7 but the first generation ipad cannot be updated due to performance issues.

On Saturday, Sept. 3, I updated to Mozilla Firefox 6. I went into the Toolbar, I think to private browsing, but not sure now. I asked that all cookies be blocked. Latest revision of firefox.
After using firefox for a while if I exit, parent.lock is locked and i have to reboot to reload firefox.
I have killed all firefox applications from task manager (usually there are none). and I have tried 3 different "file unlock" programs including unlocker to no avail.
I also recently installed a program that shows -all- open files, and parent.lock is not listed, and thus not closable/unlockable from there.

Since I downloaded the firefox update I no longer have the firefox screen and not all my bookmarks will work. Why?

After I downloaded the latest update firefox as I knew it disappeared. The opening screen no longer shows the fox logo. The search box on the toolbar lists as conduit search. And I am finding that not all my bookmarks still work. Example-I have to go to att to access my mail. That is fine if that is the way it is supposed to work but if so I would like to know how to change my home screen--or at least the first thing I see when firefox opens to the att site as I generally use my computer for email. I am also accustomed to using google search and as I am a crazy old cat lady I am not really ready to change the way I am familiar with my computer.
Ideally, could I get the fox picture screen with the google search and the ability to click on the bookmark labeled mail back on my computer???

hello dawn, please be aware that there are malicious websites out there which will trigger fake update notices/popups which try to trick you into downloading software bundled with adware. please never click on such websites or execute such files on offer - updates are handled automatically by firefox and you don't have to download any file for it (you can always manually check if you're up-to-date by going to ''firefox > help > about firefox'').
please try these steps to regain your firefox:

# afterwards go to firefox > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.

Links on my desktop have the firefox .ico and not the web link .ico Can this be automaticly attached like IE does

When I place an internet link on the desktop using Firefox 3.6.13 the link (.ico) icon is replaced with the Firefox (.ico) icon instead.

You have to assign the favicon yourself to the desktop shortcut (right-click the shortcut: Properties) after you have dragged the link to the desktop.
You can usually find the favicon in Tools >Page Info > Media and save the icon there. <br />
Otherwise use the main domain of the website and add favicon.ico (e.g. mozilla.com/favicon.ico) to display the favicon in a tab and save that image to a folder.

Now that I have the Messages beta that uses FaceTime, do I still need the FaceTime app?

So the new Messages beta is out, and I have it downloaded. From what I understand, it's an all in one, for texts, IMs, and FaceTime together. Does this incorporate FaceTime by itself? Or do I still need to keep the FaceTime app around? Or can I delete it?

When you install it, it will remove iChat, but not FaceTime. I suspect it uses components of FaceTime that you'll need, whereas it completely replaces what iChat does, so you no longer need iChat itself.

I get the same thing with Firefox, IE8, Opera, and Safari. It isn't a Firefox only problem.
Are you new to that webhosting service? <br /> Have you ever uploaded web pages to that same web hosting service previously, pages that worked after an upload? <br /> Are those pages listed as ''' "public" ''' pages in your web hosts control panel?
My suggestion is to "download" your homepage and associated files & images from your PC, up to the server, using your web hosts control panel and see how that works.
Beyond that, I suspect that you might have missed an important setting in Dreanweaver for uploading to the web host's server. You might try asking about this issue at a Dreamweaver support forum.
