hello thanks for helping i found where the problem was coming from but no how to resolve it. it sems like the AC3 format of avi video is in conflict with quicktime pro or something like that..
i tried to take some codec for avi video but none of them resolved the problem if somebody has any answers thank you very much.

QuickTime only appears on System Preferences if you are running Mac OS X Leopard, and you have OS X Mountain Lion.
In Mac OS X Snow Leopard and newer, QuickTime Player 7 isn't included, so you have to install it before getting QuickTime 7 Pro > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3678
After installing QuickTime Player 7, you have to activate it in order to get QuickTime 7 Pro. In that link, follow the steps under "Information for QuickTime 7 Pro users" -

I bought QuickTime Pro, and have QuickTime 7.1, but QTP won't run...
I bought QuickTime Pro, and have QuickTime 7.1. I have already registered QuickTime Pro, but when I try to use it, my computer just says I have QT 7.1 installed. I can't use and of the features of QTP. I followed the installation directions, but I must be missing a step because my computer has no clue that I own QTP! (Also, when I try to Export a video, it says that I need to install QuickTime Pro, which I've already installed...)
Have you attempted to re-enter your registration information? Or does it not allow you to do this?
Secondly, have you tried uninstalling Quicktime, then reinstalling it via the Control Panel or QuickTime Start Menu Group? -
just bought macbook pro and want to download purchases I have already made from itunes apps but when it says downloaded can't find it. I have run a search and found it in my mac but unable to open or do anything?? Do not understand what is happening.

Not sure if that same Application is designed for Mac Os x, Search for Applications on App Store instead of iTunes on your Macbook Pro, as Applications available on iTunes Store on a Macbook is designed to work only on iOS Device like iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch and whatever is available on App Store on Mac is designed for Mac Os x. -

I've bought quicktime pro, entered the registration code but am directed to buy quicktime pro again. Quicktime 7 is showing 'Pro' after I enter registration under 'Registration'. I have an email receipt from Apple store saying it is purchased. Yet when I try to use the Pro features they are greyed out. Ripped off?

Are you pressing the "RETURN" key to enter the registered information or the "TAB" key? "Pro" registration instructions clearly state that the "TAB" key must be used. If you used the "TAB" key to register the "Pro" key information and the "Pro" features are still grey, do you actually have a file loaded in a player window. I.e., the "Pro" features cannot be accessed if a file has not been opened in the application since they are context adaptive and, as QT Kirk pointed out, must be able to "see" the type of file you wish to edit since the features available may depend on which type of file you are trying to edit. -

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library. -

Can't find a community for this question. Ok can't cut and paste so I bought Quicktime Pro for my PC and no where did I see a link to download. I have no clue if I am running the Pro version that offers Video editing. I opened Quicktime Player and went to Edit and Preferences but no dice as far as I can tell.

I bought Quicktime Pro back in 2006, recently my laptop died and I had to get it a new harddrive. I still have the serial number cause I bought it online. But it says it's an invalid number and I can't use it. Do I have to buy it again?
Thank you!Make sure you're entering in both the user name and key code exactly as in the email Apple sent you. Any error in either, including leaving off a salutation (for instance, if the email says "Mr. John Smith") will cause the registration to error.
