Hello i lost my itunes library how do i recover it thank you

hello i lost my itunes library on my mac
how do i recover it thank you

Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library(.itl) as iTunes Library Corrupt(.itl) and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library(.itl) then start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library. Newer Mac & Windows libraries use the .itl extension. A library initially created on an older iTunes for Mac version might not.
See MusicFolder Files Not Added and Super Remove Dead Tracks for tools to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.

Hello, When upgrading Iphone4 error-1.How to remove it?
    thank you

This is a bad Hardware Error, most often means Baseband Problem. Maybe try to Restore Firmware with SIM Card removed. If you still have Warranty or AppleCare Coverage take iPhone to Apple for resolution.

  • HT203167 I have music on my ipod but this has been lost in my iTunes library - how do I recover it?

Trying to sync ipod content and my new iphone conent I find that my ipod music conent is no longer in my itunes library. How can I recover it?

Hi roamingnome - thanks for your reply. The content is still all on the iPod and I can find it in an old iTunes library but it won't sync to this account. All purchased on the same account but only 17 of 288 songs will sync?
I can reload the old library, but this will only show in itunes when my husband books into his account and then still don't sync to his iphone. It seems that itunes is a bit like me - confused, so any advice gratefully received!
He has set up home sharing - could this be affecting it, he hasn't a clue either.
    Thank you.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.  Use your backup copy to put everything back.

  • Lost the iTunes app - how do I recover it?

At some point, I lost the iTunes application on my iPhone. I cannot figure out how to bring it back. Help?
    Much obliged.

The Restrictions passcode is included with your iPhone's backup.
If you don't remember your Restrictions passcode, you will need to restore your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup. If you restore your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup, you will restore the Restrictions passcode that you don't remember.

  • My laptop broke and has been replaced. I have lost my ituns. How do I recover them on this notebook please?

My lap top broke. No hard drive now. I have a new notebook with windows 8 and an ipod classic (2009) which has 1000's of tunes on. How do I recover my iTunes library please?

You probably need to undock the panels on the right and the toolbox by clicking and dragging on the top out into the workspace.
Then move them back to the sides of the workspace without docking them (the blue line means they are going to dock)

No, it will sync the ipod to the content of the MBA which presumably has nothing on it (= erasing content of iPod and replacing it with nothing).

Quick answer if you let iTunes manage your music:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Start iTunes with the option key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.

  • I deleted all my music from the iTunes library how can I recover it?..

I have moved all my music to a external memory and after that I deleted by mistake ,,is there any program to recover files for free?

Have you emptied trash? You may be able to recover your music from there. Otherwise you won't be able to recover deleted music except for past iTunes purchases.

Your i-device was not designed to be a reliable unique storage for your media. It is not a backup device and everything is structured around you maintaining your media on a computer which is itself backed up. Sync transfer is one way, computer to device, matching the device content to the content on the computer (except purchased content as mentioned below).  For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will probably have to use third party commercial software unless you have an older model iPod. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):
