Hello, I lost the contacts from icloud and i found unknow contacts... i want to restore my iphone to an earlier backup after i do that i see my contacts but after few seconds the are dissapear again... how could i fix it?

Check icloud.com to be sure you contact list is correct there. If it is, just go to Settings>iCloud on your device and turn Contacts to On to sync the contacts to your device. If contacts are already set to On and you still see duplicates, you may be viewing a duplicate contact group in addition to the iCloud contacts. Open Contacts, tap Groups, then tap any groups other than iCloud to uncheck them, then tap Done. See if the duplicates are still there.

Thanks for you reply, she already has her own account and wants to back her own contacts up to the cloud, we have tried turning both contacts off in icloud settings, also deleting from phone when prompted, then, we also deleted all her icloud backups to start a fresh. However soon as she turns contacts back on.. Bam they re appear. We also have ipad in the mix so we did the same to that, turned off and deleted contacts on there also to no avail. Somehow they are linked to my acount just cant work out how or where?

For gmail you could try unlocking your account here: https://accounts.google.com/b/0/DisplayUnlockCaptcha. Don't know about hotmail.

HT4796 i have successfully migrated the music but it just shows up in my files and has not updated my iTunes library which is still getting the music from iCloud and is not using the migrated files. Any ideas?

I have successfully used windows migration software to move my music library from a PC to my MacBook Air.
However the music files are just stored in my file system and have not updated my itunes files. Itunes is still getting the music down from icloud instead of using the music files.

If you're using Windows Movie Maker and HP Photo to build slide shows, this is not an iPod touch issue (nor an iTunes issue), so I'd suggest you take up the problem on a web site that deals with Movie Maker or HP Photo issues. It's really not something we can help with in this forum.
If you're building this slide show on your iPod, please post back and tell us what app(s) you're trying to use, and whether the iPod app on your iPod touch shows and plays your songs correctly. Knowing the specific model of iPod you have and the version of iOS it's running will probably also help.

Photo stream is not what I am trying to get my pictures from....I want to get my camera roll that was backed up to iCloud, and have verified that it is still there, to my Mac. I can't find any answer online because every support document only offers how to sync Photo Stream, which is not what I am trying to restore.

now you have successfully tested out the feature out. your daughter had press on "Erased All Content and Settings" which it dumped evrything and ordered to go to defaults the way it came up.

What is the upgrade from CS3 and 3.5? do I want it?

Dear Community. I needed to reinstall CS3. The Software Disks got ejected from my iMac I thought the Software was defective. I went searching for a replacement.
I found the Version CS3.5 upgrade so I bought it for $221.00 or so. Then it dawned on me that the optical reader in my iMac might be at fault. I then bought an external disk reader. The Adobe Software is perfect at CS. What would this upgrade 3.5 do for me? I could return it.

my CS3 Standard Design, the disks spit out of my iMac. I thought the
software was corrupted or something. I went online and found this CS3.5
upgrade. I snapped it up. I guess from a Bookseller on Amazon. Then I began

Are you sure that you are signed in to the right account in "Settings > iCloud" and/or "Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar"?

File a complaint with Apple for not giving adequate warning before upgrading OS X that it would render PPC programs dead.
That someone at Apple said requiring the iPhone 5 to have 10.8 (10.6.8 is the minimum actually) and in order to remain a loyal Apple customer they need to fix this mess and revert your machine and software back to 10.6.8
You see, 10.6.8 would have ran your iPhone 5 and ran your PPC based software, so whoever told you to upgrade to 10.8 was wrong and they need to fix your machine.
It can be reverted to 10.6.8 yourself.

I am trying to restore my contacts from Icloud and it keeps telling me that my phone is too full. I have removed all apps and still says that there is a large amount of other stuff. What is that and how do I get rid of it so I can restore my contacts.

Here is what happened. Somehow, I synced my iPhone with all of my Google contacts, which added unnecessary garbage to my iPhone contacts. Meanwhile, it automatically backed it up a few times on my iPhone and to the iCloud. In other words, I forever lost my clean phone contact list. Somehow, I only have gmail email list on my iPhone contact list.. bizarre... So, I went to iCloud and cleaned up the contact list since it's a lot easier to do on iCloud than directly on the phone. I even exported the Contact as a vcard into external file. But I can't figure out how to restore my Contact list by importing - either from iCloud, or, from external file into my iPhone.
Am I clear?

To restore from a back up made through iTunes, follow these instructions.
To restore from a back up made through iCloud, try the following:
The difficulty in restoring iCloud data from a back up is that the back up is older than the current version on iCloud and anything that is restored gets removed again when an iCloud sync occurs.
Ensure the device is connected to your local network.
Start the restore from iCloud back up.
Allow the devices settings to restore (watch for the confirmation of completion).
As the apps begin to restore pull the connection to your router WAN port (the one that goes to the telephone point).
Wait for the time out confirmation.
Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn off contact syncing (keep contacts when prompted).
Reconnect the router to the internet and let the restore process complete.
Delete any iCloud contacts from iCloud.com on a computer.
Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn on contact syncing (merge contacts when prompted).
May I suggest that you carry out a back up to iTunes before you try anything, that way should things become even worse, you can at least restore back to where you are now.

I'm happy you figured it out and just try to keep in mind that not everyone you talk to at support will give the same advice or have the same knowledge. Just like those who contribute to these forums. Sometimes Google is your best friend.
I agree that Apple could probably make it easier, but as of yet prefer security over freedom. (sound famaliar?)

Thank you for your suggestion. I backup on itunes. I went to itunes, deleted syncing my contacts, then re-synced them. But the Facetime capability option continues to be there on most (not all, for some curious reason) of my contacts. I am not sure I posed my question correctly. I want to be able to FT with my family, so don't want to delete the FT capability totally from my iphone and ipad. But I don't want all these other iphone calls from various contacts to ring on my ipad as FT calls. I want a way to select with whom I have FT capabilities. Any further suggestions?
