Connect your iPad to your computer in iTunes. Under the iPad settings under summary, check the box that says backup to this computer. Click apply. Then when you connect the new iPad you can restore that backup on the new one.

  • How do I transfer my old iPad to a new person? I bought the new one and I am giving my original to my husband. I can't find out how to set it up for a new person?

I need help on how to transfer my old iPad to my husband

Once you're completely satisfied that your new iPad is set up properly with all of your apps and data, simply "restore" the old iPad to its factory-new state from within iTunes. There's a button to do just that on the main screen whenever your iPad is connected.
You can also perform a factory restore from the device itself, but it takes longer and is only for use in cases when iTunes isn't available.
Once the old device has been restored to its pristine state, you may set it up however you wish, with a new iTunes account, your shared iTunes account, etc.
    Good luck!

  • Hello,  I need to transfer my Creative Suite Licence

    Hello,
I need to transfer my Creative Suite licence CS4, from my old macbook whose hard disk has been erased to my new macbook.
    What should i do?
    Thank you,
    Teodolinda

Just install and activate CS4 on your new Macbook. No special steps required.
You're permitted up to two activations with each license, so you'll effectively be using your second activation on the new computer.
To free up the activation from the old macbook and use it elsewhere, you'll have to call Adobe since you can no longer de-activate it at your end.

Transferring your prepaid cellular data account depends on your carrier. AT&T lets you move it yourself when you go to Cellular Data in Settings and log into your account with your previous AT&T user name and password. For iPads with Sprint service, you can set up an account on the new iPad and contact Sprint Customer Care (888-211-4727 and go through the menus) to deactivate the old plan and get credit for unused service. For Verizon, call the company’s customer service number for mobile broadband support (800-786-8419) and ask to have your account transferred.

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your phone. Only if you back up manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
    Do this:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your device without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the iPhone for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0

  • Need easiest way to transfer my old hard drive into a new purchased one

I recently upgraded my 80GB internal HD with a 120GB. I just need to transfer everything I have onto my new one. Mac certified stores charge around 95$/hour so no way am I going to do that. However, I'm not really knowledgeable when it comes to backing up/cloning HD. My friend has a 160GB Western Digital external so I plan on using that. I downloaded Carbon Copy Cloner but got confused when it asked me what kind of drive I wanted it (ex: read only). I heard TimeMachine can copy your whole hard drive also?

    Kyle Kim wrote:
sorry for sounding stupid, but what's an "enclosure?" All I have is my friends 160GB Western Digital external HD
An enclosure is a box that allows a drive to communicate via the USB and/or FireWire interface. The external drive you mentioned is just an "enclosure" around a commodity hard drive. I did read that you said you had access to an external hard drive, but I just sort of buzzed it with what I remember from the top of my head. That being said, let me revise (this is how I actually did it when I installed my Hitachi Travelstar 7K200):
    1) Run Disk Utility from your current drive, and format your new external drive(GUID Partition Map).
    2) Install Carbon Copy Cloner on your current drive. Clone your current drive to the external drive.
    3) Shut down and try and boot from the external drive (hold option during power up?). Verify it can boot.
    4) Take the original drive from the MacBook and replace it with the new drive.
    5) Boot up from the external drive.
    6) Run Disk Utility and format your new internal drive in GUID Partition Map.
    7) Clone the contents of your external drive to your new internal drive, then shut down.
    8) Start up your machine and make sure it boots from your new internal drive.
    9) Wait while Spotlight reindexes the new drive. It'll be loud while the CPU heats up and the fan cranks up.
If you're using an external drive, you'll need to perform the cloning process twice.

  • I need to transfer the old hard drive to an empty one.

My old iMac G5 from 2004 died recently (fan burned out after wauranty expired) I would like to transfer the old hard drive into an external (empty) case and use it as an external hard drive. Can anyone reccomend a decent external case the old hard drive can be installed into that I can purchase on-line? Is it difficult to do?
    Thanks..
    Brian in Palm Springs.

Welcome to Discussions Brian - it's not hard to do, go to [macsales.com] or [newegg.com] or [smalldog.com, and look for enclosures there, you can Google for instructions, just make sure all the cables are properly connected and you should be fine.

  • Balance transfer from old recon a/c to new recon a/c

    Hello
We have changed the vendor''s reconciliation account.....now we have to transfer the balance of open items....from old recon a/c to new one..........
....what is the best way to do this.......
    regards

    It says:
    A balance sheet eadjustment distributes
receivables and payables in customer and vendor reconciliation accounts,
    Account Determination
For each account, you can specify an adjustment account to post the readjustment to. Otherwise, the system posts the readjustment to the original account.
To distinguish readjustment postings from other postings, you should create separate adjustment accounts and have the readjustments posted to them.
Since reconciliation accounts cannot be posted to directly, you have to specify adjustment accounts for them.
Since readjustments are posted without tax, the accounts posted to cannot be relevant to tax.
Adjustment accounts are determined when calculating the distribution.
Can you please check the configuration in OBBW.
Define Adjustment Accounts for Changed Reconciliation Accoun
In this activity you define the numbers of the accounts for the automatic transfer postings which are made if the reconciliation accounts are changed. Postings are made to these accounts to sort the open items.
Sorting open items is necessary to be able to display the receivables and the payables according to the legal requirements for creating balance sheets.
    Activities
    1. Enter the required accounts.
    2. Make sure that the accounts you enter are created.

PhoneView will allow you to copy your information to your MacBook.  Before you connect your phone to your MacBook be sure to launch iTunes, go to Preferences>Devices and check the box to Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from automatically syncing.  If you don't, iTunes will initiate a sync wipe your phone.  You need to copy your content off your phone/ipad and rebuild your iTunes library before syncing.

  • HT201269 How can I transfer my old iTunes library to a new computer?

I just got a MacBook Pro and I'd like to be able to access the iTunes library from my old computer on it. I've tried Home Sharing but it doesn't allow me to transfer my old library to my new computer, it just allows me to listen to the songs from it. I'd like to be able to sync my iPhone with my current computer without the "Erase and Sync" message popping up. I've authorized my new computer to access my iPhone and I don't understand why I'm not allowed to transfer my old library to my new computer.

Have you tried the Migration Assistant that came with your new MBP?
