Hello, I ve WindowsXP & need a new better Adobe Reader version on it?

hello, I do have a problem.
The old Adobe Reader 9.3 version doesnt seem to excist, so I can not even take the old A.R 9.3 version away.
I ve tried to down load a newer version but always get messages that Im not allowed to do it, since my old&fake version?
How shall I proceed with this, glad for any info.
Thx.

I dont know very much about computers etc etc, so I dont know how to make, take a so called screenshot & what do you want me to make a screenshot of, one of the attached files in my mailbox or how the AdobeReader 11.0 program look like?
I dont remember Ive had to do nothing before when using PDF, it just did work. Maybe things are different today & Ive to tweak or make some adjustments on the AR 11.0 program, when I ve installed it?
Hmm, seems like someone or this machine of mine is only playing with me
Yesterday I did succeed with the installation of the AdobeReader 11.0 program with the MSI link you showed me. Everything seemed to work, except that I still couldnt read my attached files in my mailbox.
Now this morning everything is gone, nothing in my Cotrollpanel & the small PDFsigns that was showing yesterday on some old files on my Desktop are also gone (thats why I checked my Controllpanel again)
Its just like before, the Adfobe Reader sign is on my Desktop but when I click on it , it doesnt open & when I click on the same sign on my Start menu its like before, I cant open the AdobeReader 11.0 because a message telling me I cant do it because the program isnt orit is incorrectly installed.
So what have happend now? I didnt clean or remove the installation???
Maybe my whole pc is corrupted, not only the old AdobeReader 9.3 program?
So yesterday, two steps forward & today three steps back again
I dont know what to do anymore...

  • I need technical support with Adobe Reader. How do I get it?

I need tech support for Adobe Reader.  It makes my computer freeze when an attachment if opened.  How and where do I get help?

    Have you tired another browser?
Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera or Safari will all work with Windows 7, and they will give you far less trouble than IE or AOL will.
Firefox has a built in PDF viewer that's less than perfect, but it works.
On a personal note: I worked for AOL ten years ago. AOL mail (what most people use AOL for) is now  a FREE service for ANYONE, so if you have their software installed I'd recommend removing it: you don't need it. If you have a paid account with them, I'd cancel it. You're getting NOTHING AT ALL for a monthly fee that isn't available on their website at absolutely no cost to you.
Also, I just spent an entire day last week reloading an office computer for my brother because Internet Explorer allowed a virus from a page that the other browsers don't allow access to. Internet Explorer is "the problem child" of Internet Browsers, and since AOL uses a seven year old version of Internet Explorer for its built-in browser, you'll find little difference between the two.
Try another browser and see if the problem persists. If it does we'll look at Reader as a cause, but I'd venture an aducated guess it's your browser.

Assuming that you are in Win (which you haven't said), you can try using this tool to first remove all traces of previous versions of Reader:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, download the full offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
and run it immediately after restarting your computer.

  • Need helph to upgrade adobe reader

need help to upgrade adobe reader

As this is a user to user forum, there is no guarantee that you'll receive instant replies. Not even that you will receive an answer at all.
It would be much easier to help you if you condescend to give us a minimum of information about your setup. You know, such basic things as whether you are in a Mac or a Win machine, and from which version of Reader you would like to upgrade to which. Knowing the version of your OS could also be helpful.

  • Help needed!  New to Adobe Designer

    Hello!
I am new to Adobe Designer, so pls forgive me if this is a stupid question...I have also tried to search for the answer - but no luck...
    This is the requirement:
    - the user opens a PDF form
    - the user fills in the required fields
    - the user clicks on a SEND button
    - an alert is shown "PDF sent!"
==> I.e. this button should send the PDF form to a pre-defined e-mail address in the BACKGROUND. The user should not see the e-mail, nor be able to edit it. I.e. we are looking for a way to send the PDF to an e-mail address without being dependant on whether the user has an e-mai client or not. The receiver should see an e-mail in his inbox with the PDF form attached to it and a standard text.
Is this possible to achieve? What is required?
    I appreciate all suggestions!
    Kind regards,
    Crister

    > this button should send the PDF form to a pre-defined e-mail address in the BACKGROUND
This would not only be a HUGE security hole if this were allowed (you can have any PDF form out there e-mailing any information it wants to any address without you even knowing it) but it would also require Acrobat to handle SMTP transfers to a mail sever.
The solution of allowing the OS-defined default mail client to handle this solves both problems. Aandi's option is what you would have to do - submit the data via webservice and have your remote server e-mail out the data.

  • Do I need to apply for Adobe Reader Integration Key License (RIKLA) Program?

I want to develop a commercial plugin for Adobe Reader that invokes some action through new items on right-click context menu.
I need to apply for RIKLA for that?
Reading the FAQ I notice this:
What are the restrictions for Adobe Reader plug-in development?
Modify the appearance of Adobe Reader
I don't know if adding an item to context menu could be considered as "Modify appearance", besides this seems that RIKLA only applies for vary specific types of plugins and closed to very few people... I don't know if I need to worry about this or not because of being a commercial plugin.
    Thank you so much

It's not just a licensing requirement. Without the RIKLA you cannot make Reader plug-ins at all. Adobe will vet your proposal and decide if they will permit it, and what license fee you will pay.

  • When Firefox last automatically updated, it suggested that Adobe reader needed updating, now, with Adobe Reader 8, I can no longer print from the internet, only to file. Help please.

When Mozilla Firefox last automatically updated, it suggested that Adobe Reader needed updating. After updating to Adobe Reader 8, I can no longer print from the internet, only to a file. I know the printer and its interface must be OK because Word prints normally.

Problem solved, it was my oversight, I had not removed the check from the Print to File box in the print set up.

  • I need major help with Adobe Reader!

I am a student and I need Adobe Reader for my e-books and when I click on my chapter to read it, Adobe Reader says not responding after a few seconds and closes.  I have double checked the license agreement and accepted twice so I know that is not the case.  I have also cleared the cookies and uninstalled Adobe Reader and re-installed Adobe Reader.  Tech Support at my school can't even figure it out.  Please help!!  I needed to start reading my chapters yesterday!  Thank you!

If you provided sufficient information you could get help today...
    What is your operating system?
    What is your Reader version?
Are these local or online files?  If online, in what browser?

  • I need a fix for adobe reader download error

The same error message has been popping up when I try to download the adobe pdf reader. Here is the image:
I have tried every single fix that I have found in the discussions and forums. None have worked for me. Can someone please tell me if there is something new? Thank you.

    I did a Google search for https://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&q=error+1935.+an+error+occurred+during+the+ins tallation+of+assembly+component+{B708EB72-AA82-3EB7-8BB0-D845BA35C93D}.+hresult%3A+0x80070 422.&oq=error+1935.+an+error+occurred+during+the+installation+of+assembly+component+{B708E B72-AA82-3EB7-8BB0-D845BA35C93D}.+hresult%3A+0x80070422.
This yields many results.  I did not look at them all, but the most promising one was that a potential Windows Update was still running in the background, e.g. updating .NET Framework or Visual C++ runtime.  Once the Windows Update was complete, the user could successfully install Adobe Reader.
Can you check with the Task Manager (Processes tab) if some updates are going on (e.g. presence of MSIEXEC or such).

  • Need basic documentation for Adobe Reader X

Can anyone point me to documentation that will explain what document properties are needed to be able to highlight text in a document?  The document "Adobe_reader_x_help.pdf" does not discuss this at all.  I need to highlight text in an academic document, and all permissions are enabled except Document Asembly, Signing, and Creation of Template Pages.
"Commenting" permission is available, and an ordinary person of a basic level of intelligence would assume that includes highlighting of text. At the same time, "Content Copying" is set to Allowed but I can't seem to do that either, so I am left wondering whether this is an idiotic feature designed by an idiot or merely an idiotic bug.
FWIW Adobe is BEGGING to be slapped with an unfair trade practices class action based on its blatant attempts to leverage its monopoly over the PDF file format into sales of expensive-*** Acrobat just to perform basic features, like highlighting text, that actually WORK without having to purchase a product for hundreds of dollars.

Adobe Reader X (on the desktop) can highlight text in any PDF file provided it is not directly forbidden by a security setting - so any unsecured PDF can be highlighted, as can any secured PDF with "commenting" allowed in the security properties. Highlights are just another form of comment.
Previous versions of Adobe Reader could not apply highlights without Reader-extended permissions set by Acrobat or LiveCycle, but Adobe decided with version X to allow comments and sticky notes by default.
...and FWIW, the PDF format is an open ISO standard, used by hundreds of software developers besides Adobe. Yes of course the Acrobat Family sets the standard for working with PDF content, as Adobe invented the thing; but they don't have a monopoly by any means except in specific areas of DRM, rich media and very advanced document editing. For example OS X can read and write PDFs natively, but to create files with scripting and interactivity you need a commercial application such as Acrobat.

  • What can i do about a repeated message saying I need to update my adobe reader and

...and after i download it and start to install it, it stops and says that I already have it installed. Then later another box pops up saying i need to install update... and it keeps repeating. Help? Please? Thank you

Please be extremely cautious. There are some scam messages which try to get you to install Adobe Reader and some other things that may not be good for your computer.
Let's see if you really do need an update. What version do you have? Start Adobe Reader and use Help > About Adobe Reader to see the exact version (something like 10.1.2).
