If you have performed a sync with the device since you restored this old backup, then don't bother looking for another backup. iTunes writes over the last backup each time you sync. If you were handling contacts in iCloud, you would find them by logging into iCloud. Or you can check settings and iCloud and see if the button it on for Contacts. Otherwise it might have been on the computer, if you had a program that syncs with iTunes and handles contacts, depending on the computer system you use. If Windows, it would be Windows Contacts or Outlook. If a Mac, there is a Mac Address book as well.

I just got my iPhone unlocked in Pakistan. Now I want to insert another company's sim card in it, which is not supported of course. It is reading the sim card but shows no service. Plus I plugged it into itunes so that i could confirm it. But the phone number is n/a

Have you loaded the unlock onto your phone yet?
If yes: connect to iTunes to load the up-to-date carrier settings of your phone.
If that does not work navigate to settings>general> reset>reset network setting and confirm that.
If that does not work have your SIM replaced.
If no: backup your data, then navigate to settings>general> reset> reset contents and settings and confirm that your phone will be reset to factory settings. Then set it up again and load your backup. Now you have loaded the unlock.
If all of that does not help contact Apple to check if the carrier has really done the unlock. And if you have not doen an official unlock, but a jailbreak there is nothing I can do for you.

Iphone not recognized by itunes and my safari also will not open??? Help??

I bought an iphone and synced it. When unplugging it, I realized all my apps I downloaded were gone off the iphone (I did find them in the itunes folder however) but the issue is, my Safari and my itunes program will NOT open. If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

It won't work, they are linked to your account and can only be played via iTunes on a computer, an iOS device or Apple TV. You might be able to get a cable to link your Mac to your TV so that you can play/mirror it through your TV e.g. if it's a Macbook with an HDMI socket and your TV also has an HDMI socket then you could try an HDMI to HDMI cable (Apple do them, and electrical stores should also have them) - I've used one to play iTunes TV programmes on my TV (though I don't think that I got sound through my TV, only my Mac).

I note that several people are having problems loading MS Word files into Pages and the answers have not been helpful. I too, have had this problem recently, whereas a few weeks ago the uploads worked as the manual said. Now, a MS Word 2 doc is rejected

Perhaps the problem lies in the version of the Word file. Does anyone know what versions Pages 09 will accept? I have re-installed iWorks09, but that did not solve the problem. My operating system is 10.6.8 and I am current on updates.

The Word 2 doc is ancient. I wouldn't even know where to find one to test.
The obvious thing to test is open the documents you previously opened successfully.
If they still open successfully, then it is highly likely that the version that is the problem.

I am using iphone 4, and upgraded the system to IOS6 already. but I found I could not send test message to UK and US, I could call phone number in UK or US successfully. Could someone to help me to fix up this issue. I guess the problem probably came from the format of UK or US phone number in my Iphone address book. Due there is some blank space between the phone number for iphone phone number format. I ever try andro phone, no blank space there, so could send test message to UK and UK without problem.

Have you tried deleting the songs from Settings?
Settings -> General -> Usage -> Manage Storage (not the iCloud link!) -> Music and then click Edit to enable you to be able to delete.

Yes, and, I try to restore. I have the T-Mobile sim card in it just to clarify. It will not let me get passed that, it does not accept the t-mobile sim card. i tried restoring it using wifi, cellular, and i cant get i tunes. I am scared that if i take the tmobile sim card out and put the at&t one in just to complete the restoration process that the iphone will lock again and not read the tmobile sim card, then all my hard work has gone for nothing.
