I don't think you will have sucess. The problem is that old versions of Logic on Windows had a 2GB memory limit. Which is below the limit for Window 8. I have only read about failures to run old Logic versions on recent Windows versions. Sorry.

How to use Logic Pro for Windows 7?
I'm autistic, and am interesting in the music keyboards Apple sells. I would like to get Garageband and/or Logic Pro, but I have Windows 7 so I'm not sure if those kinds of software would work on that kind of system. Would they work on Windows 7, or if there's anything else I have to do?

None of the software (Logic, Garageband) is compatible between Mac OSX and Windows 7.
Your best choice is to look for similar programs avaialble on Windows.
There are several.. "Cubase" by Steinberg, "Sonar" by 12-Tone, and "ProTools" by Digidesign.

The installer for Logic Pro 8 has a bug which keeps it from operating in Lion or Mt. Lion. Use the program Pacifist to install it.

Same here, I have Logic Studio 8 and wouldn't mind staying with that version, except that the installer won't run on my new Macbook Pro as PowerPC apps are no longer supported. That's the message I get in any case.

Paying the full price for years to slowly see your daily app go down in price & efficiency until it's given away at $199 for semi pro users. Well, at least ProTools is stil alive & kicking so I guess that's the way forward now.

I'm on osx 10.7.2 and once I click the soundtrack pro icon I get an error message. I had problems with logic pro & my digi002r soundcard midi drivers but now is fixed (using a midi adapter).

I installed Lion OS X and Logic Pro won't run. I downloaded the 9.1.5 update: "An Eligible Logic Pro Version Was Not Found in the Applications Folder. This Update require Logic Pro Version 9.0 or higher". I have Logic Pro Version 9.1.1 installed.
I even pulled the dmg file into the Logic Studio folder in my applications directory and it still does not recognize it. What do I do now?Niel: Thanks.
For others benefit, here is what happened.
I had installed Logic Studio 9.1 some time ago.......not knowing what all the programs were nor what they did, I created a "Logic Studio" subfolder in my applications folder and put all Logic Studio programs into it so I'd know where they were and could review each at my leisure over time.
My assumption now is that when the updater looks for the Logic Pro program, it looks only in the applications folder. It seems lame that it would not also look in the subfolders of the applications folder, but that apparently IS the way it works. Because my Logic Pro program was located in the "Logic Studio" subfolder, the updater just didn't see it..hence the error message I received when I tried to update.
Solution: I moved all the Logic Studio programs out of the subfolder and now they reside in the applications folder. Ran the 9.1.5 updater and it worked like a charm. -

I have Logic Pro 9 on my desk top and I'd like to install it on my laptop. Where can I find the installer.
Before uninstalling the software it's always recommended to 'Deactivate' the license by going to the 'Help' menu else it will give the error you are getting.
This is because as per End User License Agreement you cannot install the software on more than 2 computers.
In case the older computer is no longer there to 'Deactivate' then please contact Customer Care at 8008336687(US) / Support or Chat Support to increase the activation count on your license and they would be able to help as an exception. -

I have several Files created in Logic Audio for windows before v5.5.1 which can't open in Logic Pro X. Any ideas for a solution to this problem, The Windows files that were created in v5.5.1 open OK. Can someone help? I feel bummed and a bit ripped off. I'd like to have Logic Pro X now, with all it's nice new features. I bought Logic 9 in May and haven't had time to even look at it. You think apple will offer people like me a refund? I hope so. I just don't feel it's right to charge so much for the upgrade.

Part of this is incorrect...
Some App Store employee's "accidentally" (but in good faith) issued refunds to a few users who had purchased Logic 9 within 30 days prior to the mid-July release of Logic-X. Word quickly came down from Apple HQ that this was against App Store policy and the practice was immediately stopped.
To the original poster.. you never stood a chance, even if they were issuing refunds you didn't fall within the 30 day period. There were many who purchased Logic 9 a few days before the LX release who did not get a refund.
