I assume you mean that you had not set up Find my iPhone, because if you had the thief could not have.If it is registered to his Apple ID you are out of luck. If you bought the phone new and have proof of purchase you can take it to an Apple store and they may be able to help you. Otherwise you are out of luck.

You are not addressing Apple. They would not be able to help you. This is a user to user forum. If the device had not been activated, there is no way to track it. Report the theft to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

My iPhone was stolen. The thief is still receiving my iMessages.

My iPhone was stolen last week. I did a remote wipe, but the thief is still receiving my iMessages from other friends with iOS5. I would really appreciate any help.
What I've done:
I called Verizon, and they redirected me to Applecare.
I called Applecare, and they said to change my Apple ID password.
I did this and sent my number an iMessage from my friend's phone; it was delivered and read.
I called Applecare again, and they said to get the ID cancelled through iTunes.
I contacted iTunes, and they said that iMessage is not associated with Apple ID, and cancelling my Apple ID will not stop the stolen phone from receiving my iMessages.
I changed my Apple ID email, password, and billing address in hopes that it would do something to disassociate my Apple ID from iMessage. No luck.
I really don't know what to do now. I don't like that my stolen phone is receiving messages from my friends.
P.S. I've also been sending that ******* obscene messages from my friends' phones.

See if placing the iPod in recovery mode will make the iPod visible in iTunes. If it does then restore the iPod via iTunes on your computer. For recovery mode see:

Thank you for your question. It sounds like your phone is not responding and is stuck at the Apple logo. I would next reset the device with this process:
Reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

How do I get back control of my Itunes account? My iphone was stolen and info was changed.

My iphone was stolen. The thief reset the password on my itunes accounnt, then they changed the DOB, the security question and the recovery email. They also spent my itunes credit buying aps. I know this because I still get email notifications of what is being done with the account. How do I get back control of my account?

2nd hand iphone being stolen in the transition

Hi there,
I recently purchased an iphone from ebay and ship it from US to Hong Kong through the ebay international shipping programme.
However, when i received the package, there is no phone inside the iphone box.
Me and the seller suspect that the iphone was stolen during the postage transition.
All i got now is the iphone box with all the codes and serial no. of the phone.
Could anyone suggest what can i do to locate the iphone now? or how could i contact apple staff for help?

Using your Find My apps allows you to put your missing device in Lost Mode, see its location, or erase its data. Other than the Find My iPhone and Find My Mac apps, there is no other Apple service that finds, tracks, or otherwise flags your device for you.

Unable to set up Find My Iphone

I have been having trouble setting up Find My Iphone on my iPhone 4. I've set up the account, and have clicked the button to set up find my iphone in settings. (Curiously, once it was clicked on, I'm unable to click it off - it reverts back to on each time). When I log into the Find My iPhone app, as well as my account on me.com, both say that there are not devices registered.
The only thing I can think of is that I work at a university, and have an exchange account associated with my phone. I've had to sign a contract with the institution saying that if I ever lose my phone, I must notify them, and they have permission to remotely wipe the device. Is there any reason why that would interfere with the Find My iPhone functionality?

What you're referring to is something called "policies". Administrators can enforce these policies ranging from requiring a complex passcode to unlock the device to disabling the camera. Policies can be ruled out from the issue because iOS only supports a [specific set of policies|http://images.apple.com/iphone/business/docs/iPhoneMSExchange.pdf], and disabling the GPS/Find my iPhone is not one of them.

If it was stolen the thief will wipe it with the result that you will not be able to track it.
Contact your carrier. They may be able to block further use of the phone. No good to you but then no good to the thief either.

This morning my iPhone was stolen from me, I immediately called it and it had been turned off. So, I went right home to activate the Find My iPhone app on the website so it would call my other contact number. Then going to my AT&T store I was told to go home and submit an insurance claim. Finally, I found an series of emails from Apple at 5:15pm and on verifying my Find My iPhone activation had been disabled and that my iCloud ID had been changed to *********. I don't know who the heck this person is, but they've managed to deactivate the Find feature and hack my iCloud ID email address. How can this happen? How do I get Apple and Gmail to prosecute this person? I still don't know the full extent of what has been hacked into. Does anyone have any helpful insight? Thanks
