In addition to the other response you received, please see this chart of steps that must be conducted whenever a previously used BB is sold or otherwise transferred to someone else. Only the proper party for each stage can conduct their stage -- which means you must find the prior owner and get them to do their steps...no one else can do that...not even anyone at RIM.

Hi,
I need your views as we frequently start Hyperion services whenever it goes down (ex Workspace or EPMA or HFM).
These services most of the time after restart does not work properly.
Kindly suggest is it correct way to start only that service which stops or we need to bounce all Hyperion services?
Secondly how to validate my Hyperion Environment if is it working properly.
Version 11.1.1.3
URL check may be OK but sometime URL opens but problem occurs after login.

But situation is as we have multiple customers and multiple instances.
case 1: worspace went down ---restarting only workspace services; is it correct as we do mostly?
case 2: EAS and reporting may down---restrting only these two services; is it correct way to resolve issue?
case 3: HFM web services may down: starting IIS, www, http and HFM; is it correct to resolve?
we need to understand our resolution. OR we always go and stop Hyperion and start again Hyperion all services.

I come before you with a problem. Our Proxy server at work has highlighted that our my work Macs are trying to access websites in the background. Thanks the help of this forum I am hoping I have solved this issue... (AdBlocker) however I know one thing - IT IS NOT A VIRUS
Here is where I need your help - Our IT Manager is insisting that the Macs need to have a virus and malware checker. (Even tho there is no such thing as Mac viruses and the problem is clearly not a virus) I believe this is pointless exercise and I am sure some of you will agree.
Can I please have your experiences/views of usefulness or otherwise of virus / malware checkers for the Mac.
Personally I am more than certain they are 100% pointless! However my word on this is not enough proof for our IT team.
I don't want to have to wait for a virus checker to check every file I download, update itself or lose productivity time with the daily scans they will make me take!
Please help a fellow Mac User out by backing me up in there pointlessness or convincing me of there is a place on the Mac for Virus / Malware checkers.
I have posted here as one of the Macs is running Snow Leopard (I will also be posting in the Leopard forum too!)

Well, it could be a trojan. I have heard of a file circulating on **** sites that redirects your DNS or something. You have to manually run the installer for it (or have the horrible Safari option "Open 'safe' files after downloading" checked).
I don't think that is the case for your machines, but check that Safari setting anyway.

The best thing to do is pacify them. Download the "industry leader" Mac OS X anti-virus program, ClamXav, and never run it.

I was about to suggest Little Snitch, but I'm not sure if that will work properly through a proxy. Try GlimmerBlocker instead. I just found out about it and I'm going to give it a try. -

Hello world servlet in Glassfish. Need help to start, please.

I am new to servlet technology. I am reading the Servlet specification 2.4 and I want to try everything on practice. I want to start using the Glassfish. Currently I want to try it as a simple servlet container. A few years ago I used to work with tomcat and it was easy to compile a servlet and see its output in the browser. But now I am totaly confused with Glassfish but still I want to know more about it.
So my question is:
I compiled my helloworld servlet using jsdk1.5 and using libraries that came with sun app server 9 (glassfish). And now I want to see my servlet working. But I cannot find where should I put my compiled servlet (previously I put it into WEB-INF/classes). I also cannot find the web application descriptor (previously web.xml) to declare my servlet. Please, point me in the right direction so I could start with Glassfish and j2ee 5.0.

Hello, Model: wdbuzg0010bbk-04 Suddenly my External Hard Drive is not detected and failed (Not even processing) with the tests of Western Digital Data LifeGuard Diagnostics. I believe I tried everything. When I connect it, there is no strange sound, the sound is okay, the temperature is okay as WD Quick view mentions. The light is also on. When I connect it, the sound of USB detected in my laptop comes but nothing appears. WD SmartWare detects it but as no writable partition. And I also can not fix it using the Disk Management tool in Windows. Is there any fix for my matter?
Seems like the partition on the drive got corrupted, i recommend reformatting the drive and then try to use for backup, however if you have information on this unit that you do not have somewhere else try too run a data recovery software, you can also check this link with some data recovery partner, in some cases they will have free diagnostics of your drive:

My z60m needs your help! Please anyone? (Recovery disks needed)
I accidentally modified my MBR with a Ubuntu Karmic Koala install. It changed the MBR and now the R&R partition will not restore to factory defaults. Thinkpad told me the only solution is to run the recovery disks.
I did not make these, and now I am suffering. Please, someone with their thinkpad winXP image on their z60m can you help? It is possible to make recovery CDs inside the thinkpad tools on windows xp. Could someone please make them and ship them to me? (If you have some, can you loan them to me?) I can pay you for your time and effort. I have paypal and can pay for shipping, discs, time, etc... Please just name your price.

i am not sure whether the kind soul habskilla would lend you the set of the discs or you could ask sfraden to see whether he is willing to help you out. If worst comes to worst, you can order the discs from Lenovo.

i dont think so. i got it upgraded and it turns out bad. i got to restore my iPhone and now my phone's not activating. it says that "Your iPhone could not be activated because tghe activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple in a couple of minutes." I tried it on iTunes but it just the same. It wont even work also. Now im sad of this.
