This issue is because the Excel output from BI Publisher is MHTML (XML Publisher generates XHTML) not binary .xls.
MHTML and XHTML are more verbose formats than binary .xls.
It will be large because the current Excel output is just an HTML and not compressed like PDF. Please use the workaround (save it as .xls file). This is a known limitation of RTF layout templates.
BI Publisher Enterprise has a new feature True Excel Templates. The layouts generate binary Excel output.

gonna make a quick summery of the post that got deleted with the last forum
radio reception .- AM useless. FM lots of pops and noise
XM radio. - does not have audio 1/2 the time the car is started. must switch inputs
VERY POOR FEATURE SET. the module i bought supports it but the UI and features are TERRIBLE.
Ipod -- Lost ability to play ipod a month after. can scroll through songs and skip them but will not play. plus picking songs is almost impossible while driving. ipod stolen last week so i guess i don't need to concern myself with that for now
VOLUME -- this one is annoying the ****** out of me. at least half the time i start the car i cannot control the volume from the head unit. only works from the remote. after a while of driving it usually starts working from the head unit
here's a new one that just started. within the first 5 min of driving the car when if i hit a bump the radio restarts. never happens after the first 5 minutes of driving. wiring seems to be fine

overall the UI seems poorly thought out. too hard to pick a source. too many distractions from the road while trying to change things. i love the sound and the BT seems to work well but i cannot see myself buying another sony after this.

SharePoint 2013 error 8059 & Excel Web service issues

The issues I am getting is a 8059 error "and exception occurred when trying to issue security
token" it then asks me to turn on "includeexceptiondetailsinfaults" whichIi try to do on the security token service web.config. when I do this it Error 500's and I can't even access the SharePoint site, once I remove the code line I can access
the site but cant get any more information regarding the errors .
Any suggestions? In the ULS logs the error appears on numerous occasions.
Next issue is regarding Excel web access, it reports an error of "we're sorry we ran into a
problem completing your request. please try again in a few minutes"
I tried switching form workbook url to local but I am not sure if that's the solution, I have seen
that it resolved the issue for other users but not for me.

It seems to suggest UNC or permissions but I don't know where to go from here.

We've seen this error when the system was under load using SharePoint 2013 workflows. We tracked it back to problems with the distributed cache service. The fix is supposed to be applying CU3 or CU4 for the AppFabric Cache and potential changing some of

File Content Conversion and Empty file issue

The issue is :
I have configured a file sender adapter with file Content Conversion. I have 2 kinds of records Header and Items.
i have defined the 'Key Field Name' based on the first character of each line of my flat file and the values associated :
Header.keyFieldValue = 1
Item.keyFieldValue = 2
Flat file example :
1;Headerfield1;Headerfield2
2;ItemField1;ItemField1;ItemField1;ItemField1;
2;ItemField1;ItemField1;ItemField1;ItemField1;
2;ItemField1;ItemField1;ItemField1;ItemField1;
and everything works fine !
But now imagine you receive a bad file like this :
xxxxx;ohhohoh;llllll
y;sdfsdfs;zezerz;zerzer
e;zerzerze;zezerzerzer
The result is : IS receive nothing and no alert is generated ?!!!???
What i have seen is that the adapter doesn't find any corresponding value for keyFieldValue so it consider that the flat file is empty and i do nothing, the file is archived and that's all no alert is generated ????
But i want to receive an alert for checking that the processed flat file was not correct !
If anybody has an idea, it will be great !

Sometimes it really #!@#%%#.. me off when customers excepts that XI will solve their whole organization interfacing problems (and the world hunger as well...:)...
even when it comes to the responsible systems that creates the file(sometimes with bugs and problems even before XI came to the org.).as in every developed application or out of the box one, the application has to take care of its outputs and deal with errors. when it cant deliver what other systems expects her to it has to inform some one...
When it comes to the Adapter frame work XI expects the system in its landscape to be responsible for the data they send (well formed and with the defined structure...IDocs,XML,flat files).
as mentioned in my colleagues previous postings you can take care of data verification during mapping and so..
I belive it is possible to monitor the incoming file before it is parsed to XML (not sure it is the right way to) and maybe we'll get a solution to that in the future (today we can monitor the comm. channel wether its configures well or not,maybe it will be possible in the future to alert when an incoming file is empty)

Atleast this time it looks like a sql error
I don't know if this helps any I did find out if I use to string field and type the date in that way it works. It seems to only have the problem when i use the cal (date).

Oracle 11g application won't start sometimes(jar files issue)

Hello,
The issue we experience is that now and then, our forms 11g application
won't start.
So it can be the case that, for example, the application can be started
succesfully 5 times in a row, but the 6th and 7th time, it won't start
anymore. But when we relaunch it for the 8th time, it launches perfectly.
When the application isn't starting, a new window is opened having a yellow triangle
with an exclamation mark on the top right corner.
After a long period, we suddely discovered that it had something to do with ".jar" files.
Because when we clear the "java jar cache" on the client machine
(start -> control panel -> java -> "general" tab -> "view..." button -> select all the files and click on the
cross(remove selected sources) ), the application succesfully starts for about 10 times in a row.
But the first time we start the application(after clearing the cache), it takes much longer, because the application
is downloading the .jar files again. (java logo appears with a progress bar)
But clearing the cache every time before starting the application can't be a decent solution we think.
When we enable all java debugging info in the console, we received the error below 2 times when launching a application session that refused to start:

Sorry, I meant WEB-INF\lib in the WAR file inside my EAR.
I put all the jar files in the WEB-INF\lib of the WAR file but it still does not work. I have to specify them in the classpaths and put the jar files in the domains\domain\lib directory
I thought if you put it in the WEB-INF\lib then you don't have to put them in the classpath.
Am I right?

PDF loading issue

Issue:
PDF not loading on first click but loads properly on refreshing the same page.
Scenario:
I am creating a PDF using PDF action blocks and calling the PDF on click of a button.
On click of button, I am calling the following url format in window.open command:
"http://"+location.host+"//XMII/Runner?Transaction=<TransactionPath>&<Param1Name>="+<Param1Value>+"&<Param2Name>="+<Param2Value>+"&OutputParameter=<PDFOutParam>&Content-Type=application/pdf&isBinary=true"
Pls provide some solution.

Hi Minakshi,
It could be possible that a JavaScript error is occurring just before window.open method. In IE or chrome, you could press F12 (developer tool) and check in console if that's the case.
You can also use the "Network" tab in the developer tool to see is the url is even being called or not.
Try running the url in the browser directly, see if gives you the expected results.
Lastly you could try replacing window.open() with window.location.href = "your url" and see if it helps.

Since you are calling the trasnaction in the same MII server, you do not have to use http://serverName.. Just give the URL starting from "/XMII/Runner?Transaction=.........." and it should work.

Two Issues Related

Hello,
First issue: I changed my website a bit, and in the process I changed the location of the old RSS feed for my podcast, and now iTunes subscriptions don't pick it up anymore.
Second Issue: I resubmitted the podcast using the new RSS Feed location. Apple sends back a confirmation e-mail telling me it's been accepted and will appear in a few hours. Days later it still doesn't show up for any search results.
Now, I know I could have prevented this in hindsight, but that's too late now. My question now, is what do I do about this, and what's the least traumatic way to fix it all.
I want to have only one podcast subscription the current one that works and get rid of the old broken one. (obviously) This is my first time working with podcasts and Itunes, so I'm still getting used to this whole thing, and the website is all done in iWeb.

The best way to communicate with the iTunes store techs is via the "Report a concern" link on your podcast's page in iTunes. You can remove duplicate feeds this way.

Two lagging issues

Two issues with my 2005 Powerbook
1. When turning it on, it hangs on that gray screen with the apple logo and the little circle spinning for about three minutes. While it's doing this, there's a very faint sound coming from the computer as if it's trying really hard to do something but just can't get the energy to make it happen. It does this for about three minutes, like I said. Sometimes a little longer, never less. Then it loads up fine and works like a champ (for the most part) thereafter once the desktop is fully loaded. Have used ONYX and Yasu to clean, still happens.
2. I used the install disc for an HP Photosmart 3200 printer and ever since things have gone awry in the photo realm. Now, when in the Mac HD if I click on the Pictures quick link, the cursor turns into the beachball of death and spins for about two to three minutes. Never happened before installing that damned printer software. It has since been uninstalled. Also noticing that Photoshop wants to hang up on the "loading preferences" part of the initial load screen... What can be done about this? Anyone know? Thanks a **** of a lot in advance.

Do you have the original HDD in the computer?
What is the total disk capacity and the available capacity of the HDD? (select Macintosh HD, type Command + I)
Try Repair Disk
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report if it says anything but Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need to use a utility like Tech Tool Pro or Disk Warrior
Please post back with update, information requested and any further questions/comments.

Issue 1 - Is there a search function to narrow the 12000 topics to handful I can manage?
Issue 2 - Is LightRoom a better (faster, more specific with metadata, and speedier) than Bridge for a cataloging/browsing tool?
Issue 3 - In LR, we've discovered we can catalog audio interviews by using the .wav files and giving them the same name as the image of the person being interviewed. (JimmyPic01.tif is paired with JimmyPic01.wav, JimmyPic02.tif is paired with JimmyPic02.wav - we give the image the metadata about the date and time of the interview, etc.) Now, is there a limit to the size of the .wav file associated with an image? Will our researchers be able to click on the .wav file and listen to the entire interview? Is it possible to alter the program used to open the .wav files in order to permit fast forward and replay functions? Does the audio player in LR permit those functions?
Issue 4 - Does Adobe build a catalog package with the elegance of LR (pleasant-looking interfaces and speedy searches) and the simplicity and power of Bridge (catalog audio, video, and documents)? Does LR permit the creation of metadata fields as easily as Bridge?
I guess many of these questions will get answered if I simply install a copy and play a while. . .?

BPS Save Issues ...

We upgraded to SAP_BW 350 0013 and SEM-BW 400
0009 recently. The issue I see is that when I press save for a large
record set (say 50000 records), instead of writing directly to the
database, it seems to get hung up on the pretty printer program,function PRETTY_PRINTER (an ABAP trace shows that it consumes over 60% of runtime).
Sometimes it causes a memory short dump (over 1gig requested for 50000 records?). We didn't seem to get this issue before and have had no success
finding similar issues with a notes search or the SDN. If you have any ideas it would be great!

the issue is related to trace that is being recorded. If the trace is on, the system records all saved data into a program. With high data volume, the program and therefore the pretty print becomes very long.
Turn off the trace to resolve the problem: Use program SAP_RSADMIN_MAINTAIN and set value DEBUG_RSDRI = OFF (or space or delete the value).

Major performance issue: AIR browser is slow to load AJAX app & kills CPU

My question - Is there a solution ahead or I have to wait patiently that all my clients uninstall the application?

The bug referenced in that thread, AIR browser is slow to load AJAX app, is still open/to track. Based off the notes from Jian on Nov 6th, we've been able to reproduce the issue but it does not have enough votes to qualify for our current releases. We need additional users to cast their votes that this is impacting their applications.
There is a note on November 11th, that suggests that removing inset box shadows can resolve this issue in some cases. This is most likely similar to other known bugs where -webkit-box-shadow impacts performance on Windows. All cases have been deferred at this time as the solution is not trivial to address (I've personally entered this bug at least twice.)
