If you look at the 15" and 17" models you'll notice that there are 2 seperate ports for audio input and output. All the description says is: "Combined optical digital output/headphone out (user-selectable audio analog line in)" In the WWDC keynote they said that less than 1% of 13" owers actually used the audio input jack ...

Thanks Peter but I was not seeking to store with I-Cloud. In fact I never store documents with I-cloud.
I was in fact trying to store the files to Documents, which is where I usually keep such things.
Have now discovered that if I leave the file untiled and simply close it, rather than saving it then it will save, oddly, to Documents. I then have to re-title it and move to the folder I want it in.
Despite the above, even once it is titled and saved in Documents then if I reopen it I still cannot then Export it to a Word or PDF file. I still just get the message . xxxxxx.pages does not exist!
Bad news as I am constantly exporting documents to Word and PDF to send to others who do not use a Mac

Hello, I have a Mac Book Pro late 2009 and I got the Logicboard replaced twice, firts time it was covered by the One year guarantee, but now, after only one year and five months it died again, unfortunatly, i did not buy the 3 year guarantee, because it was not offered to me in Best Buy, the place where I bought it. I am trying to find similar cases, something like the case it happened in 2008. How can I connect my existing firewire drives to the "new" Macbook pro

I'm thinking about getting a new Macbook Pro, to take on the road.
I already have four external drives with firewire and USB 2.0 ports.
After I looked at the new machine I noticed it only had USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt ports.
I dont see any Firewire to Thunderbolt technology out there nor do I see any USB3.0 to anything technology. How can I connect my drives to the new system?

You can use the USB3 connections for USB2. That's downward compatible. Just runs at USB2 speed.
Just this week apple announced a couple of TB adapters, TB-to-ethernet and TB-to-firewire. But the FW adapter is not at the apple store as yet (at least at the time I am posting this).

Hello.I have installed windows 7 home premium on my macbook pro mostly for playing games.But there is a problem.Whenever I launch a game, the screen just zooms in one part and I cannot see the whole screen.Therefore,I cannot play.Help please !

I tried to re-install games as well, restart my macbook but it did not work.I want to add that even before using bootcamp, the same thing happened to the screen.So, I do not think that there is a problem with windows 7.

I have 60 gig available on my computer's hard drive and have 250 gig on a separate hard drive that I have attached, which is single partitioned (MS-DOS FAT). It keeps saying "The startup disk does not have enough space, you must have 28 gig of free space available" Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Any help would be much appreciated.

Nobody in these forums represents Apple or any store. I think you will need to contact the store you are planning to buy from directly yourself and ask them.

me and my Dad bought today an Mac Mini and a MacbookPro.
My father setup the Mac mini and has created an AppleID
and so he also did the same on my MacBook pro but the problems now is, if I wanted to update my Programms in the store i need to sign in with the AppleID of my father but i want to have a personal ID for myself So i created one
but if i try to login in the appstore it tell me to to verify my ID and ask me for a Credit Card, but i can swear the Apple Id of my father didnt needed an Credit Card.

it depends upon which model MacBook Pro you have. If you have a Late 2011 model or newer, then you don’t need a DVD to reïnstall OS X. If you have a Mid 2010 model or older, then you will need its original grey Mac OS X Install DVD. If you have an Early 2011 model, then it depends upon whether that particular machine shipped originally with Lion or with Snow Leopard; those which originally came with Lion don’t need a DVD, but those which originally came with Snow Leopard do need the grey Mac OS X Install DVD.

We did that, but it just doesn't seem to be able to connect. So basically we tried to connect to our network and insert the password, but afterwards it does nothing. Weird thing is also that the network symbol (top right of the screen) says that it has been connected, but when I go look at the system preferences --> network, it states that it has not been connected
