HelloWorld page in the tutorial

Hi,
I am relatively newbie for the OAF (worked on it a bit....came back to it after a while).
When I try to run the HelloWorld page from the tutorial, the page is coming up ok. However, when I key in any text into the text field and click on the 'Go' button, it does not display Hello+<the text that I keyed in>. I see the yello triangle with the exclamation mark in it with "Error on page". I know I have seen this before but can't seem to resolve it.
Source code behind the page shows:

I disabled the pop-up blocker and also included the url in the trusted sites. However, still getting it. Same on my custom search page.
Additionally I unchecked the "Disable script Debugging" in the Internetoptions. Have not yet deleted the temporary internet files.

I'm facing a similar problem with jdev. We recently upgraded from 11.5.10 RUP6 to RUP7. I ve downloaded the right patch from metalink and tested the tutorials. its working fine. I ftp'ed all the required file to run the home page and iExpense pages. When i run the HomePG, it runs fine, when i clickon the iexpense responsibility, it takes me to the login page. I ve set the oc4j setting to default ip address. Can you throw some light on this?

Open iPhoto, select a couple of photos and use the Share ➙ iWeb ➙ Photo page menu option. That has jump started iWeb for others. I could take a couple of tries.
If that doesn't work try the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iiWeb.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder.

Get "401 Unauthorized" for secured pages when following the tutorial

I tried to configure security for a page in JDeveloper by following the steps in 10.1.3.2 WebCenter Framework Tutorial (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12529_01/webcenter.1013/b31072/tt_security.htm).
I copied the system-jazn-data.xml from the sample. Then followed the steps in the tutorial except that I don't have the Welcome page but only the secured Mypage.jspx which is protected as instructed in the tutorial. Then I ran Mypage.jspx. I was directed to the login page correctly. But after I entered the correct username/password for any user, it gave me "401 Unauthorized" error. I'm pretty sure the username/password is correct because it'll direct me back to the login page when they're wrong.
I tried it a few times but it always failed with the same error. Any help is greatly appreciated.

How do I remove my iWeb pages from the Home folder so I can publish to a new host?

I have moved my MobileMe site to a new service (GoDaddy). The basic transfer went very smoothly. With one tiny hitch: the new URL text.
IWeb places web pages in folders, each folder being a "site." The name of the root folder automatically becomes a "pointer" to the web site -- and part of the URL text.
My current root folder is named DavidChartrand -- me. So..... when I published everything over to GoDaddy the text "DavidChartrand" was attached to my URL.
Instead of seeing www.davidchartrand.com in the URL bar, visitors see: www.davidchartrand.com.com/DavidChartrand
GoDaddy staff says this is simply a quirk in iWeb's design. Fine, but it's annoying. Is there anyway I can keep using iWeb but somehow remove the root folder.....that is, remove my site pages from the root folder and and then re-publish? GoDaddy tech support swears it has many former MobileMe/iWeb users who have done this successfully but offered had no idea how.

The way iWeb publishes its websites, in its own folder, the normal URL is http://www.domain_name.com/Site_name/Page_name.html. This is a normal URL for any web host.
If you want to get rid of the site name you will need to publish your website to a folder on your hard drive and upload only the contents of the website folder to your server with a 3rd party FTP client like YummyLite, Transmit or Cyberduck. That will get rid of the site name in the URL.
Of course remove the existing website foldr from the server beforehand.
I believe the folder you publish to on GoDaddy is named public_html. You might try renaming your website to "public_html" and publish to GoDaddy. In theory iWeb will see the website's folder already on the server and publish the website file into it.
It works that way with HostExcellence.com which names the home folder the same as the domain name associated with it. This tutorial explains more about it: iW16 - Using HostExcellence.com with iWeb

Index.html = your domain's home page. There is only one home page per site.
To create a new page from your index, go to File > SaveAs > filename.html. Repeat for other site pages. Add links on your index page that lead to other site pages.

Problems with the Tutorial in the MDK Documentation

Hey,
I have made the tutorial-exercise of the MDK-documentation, in which You try to create a SyncBO and let generate the client application.
When I do all the steps and import the generated XML-file into my Eclipseproject, it should be possible to test the application on the client, after uploading to the middleware.
But when I download it to the client by synchronizing and when I´m clicking on the shown link then, it doesn´t start!
I get the message "The page cannot be found..".
But when I´m installing other application, like f.e. MAM, I can start it....
Any ideas?

Iweb web page not showing full page on the web

I have a web site that I build using iweb. I have installed intense debate for a commenting system. I have two problems. My comments are not showing up even after i approve them even though i chose to not monitor comments and when you view the page most of the comment box is missing. I have changed the height and width of the page, changed the height and width of the age layout in iweb, nothing seems to help. I have contacted there support team but they just keep saying the same things. Apparently i need to do this to get the commenting system working "looks like you don't have any JavaScript variables set. You'll need to set some postid's and URLs." That is copied directly from the email they sent me. I don't know what any of that means...And please don't say read the tutorial they offer because i cant fallow that either. @SuppressWarnings("deprecation") is not working as described in the Tutoria

@SuppressWarnings("deprecation") is not suppressing warnings when I compile the below code on SDK 1.6.0. This code is copied straight from the Java Tutorial page at http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/java/javaOO/QandE/annotations-answers.html

You have, as far as I can tell, found a bug in Sun's compiler.
Java language Specification 3rd edition, p#9.6.1.6, says:
9.6.1.6 Deprecated
A program element annotated @Deprecated is one that programmers are discouraged from using, typically because it is dangerous, or because a better alternative exists. A Java compiler must produce a warning when a deprecated type, method, field, or constructor is used (overridden, invoked, or referenced by name) unless:
The use is within an entity that itself is is annotated with the annotation @Deprecated; or
The declaration and use are both within the same outermost class; or
The use site is within an entity that is annotated to suppress the warning with the annotation @SuppressWarnings("deprecation")
Use of the annotation @Deprecated on a local variable declaration or on a parameter declaration has no effect.
Using Java 6, I verified that the following code issues a warning when compiled:

SSL and J2EE - Problems with the tutorial

I'm trying to make a small amendment to the bank application ('Duke's Bank') which is the main example in the J2EE tutorial. Nothing complicated: just add a simple 'enrollment' page which will be secured through SSL.
The aim is to demonstrate that J2EE makes it very easy to put a session over a secure SSL channel.
As I read the documentation, this should be a fairly simple thing to configure. Add a 'CONFIDENTIAL' network security requirement to the WAR component through the deploytool and import a server certificate using keytool. I've done all that and the thing won't work.
After adding the 'CONFIDENTIAL' requirement I find that using the 'http' protocol serves up a server certificate which I can choose to trust through by IE6.0 browser. But then the application freezes. If I use the 'https' protocol the application freezes without even bothering about the certificate.
I wonder if the J2EE tutorial setup is so tightly packaged that configuring it for SSL involves a number of undocumented steps related to ports, keystores and security providers. Explaining it all within the context of the tutorial would throw it out of scope so we're not really meant to do things like adding SSL.
This is a big deal for us -- we're trying to decide if J2EE will be our application platform over the next five years or so. Any assistance here will be gratefully received.

I'm trying to learn to use Dreamweaver CC…it's the first time I'm trying to realize a website. So I've installed the software downloaded from Creative Cloud and I've stared to follow the tutorials but the work area appears different and I don't have found the material mentioned in the first video to download (CSS template ecc…), so I'm stuck in front at the third tutorial with no possibilities to go on…that's very frustrating.
I've also tried to find a manual, but no way…I losing a lot of time and I'm paying for that. I'm really upset…so I hope you can help me.
