Help! 10.4.11 update problem
Hello Everyone,
First post.
I updated my G4 dual PPC from 10.4.10 to 10.4.11 and yes, you guessed it, I have a problem. When the G4 restarted after the update, during which it never displayed an optimizing message, my desktop appeared as before but I could not access any programs other than the ones that I had installed. I can't access Terminal, QT, Preview, no system software. I made a combo update disk on another computer and it takes a while but it ends up giving me a Darwin login prompt; it never gets to the installer GUI.
I would like to try and fix it but without access to system software I can't make any changes. I would give up and reinstall 10.4 but it won't install from the Tiger install disk.
Any suggestions would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Did it boot up OK and the symptoms are gone, or what?
Safe Boot clears a lot of caches that might be the cause of your symptoms, and I'd now use Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities to Verify the HD, if it needs repair you have to do that from your install CD/DVD, but if it's OK, then Repair Permissions and reboot.

Had you installed HTML5 pack after having installed Illustrator ? If yes then can you go back to the original state and try to apply the patch again.

Help! Nano 2GB update problem.
I've just downloaded the 2006-6-28 updater,which will update Nano to 1.2 ver. Everything is fine in the setting up ... but after I start the update process, it takes a long time and about 20 minutes later, I found the update is still going on. But actually the process is not working. So I unplug the nano even there is still the sign of "do not disconnect". Then the wired thing happened, the software ver. in Nano is shown to be 1.2, but all the songs have gone, and the available volume is 712MB. I tried to plug it again, but XP won't read it, and i even couldn't use updater to restore it because it is recognised by windows as "bad source" or something. So please help me. I think i may send it to the factory.
For those who have the similar problem, my problem has just been solved! Open the 'control panel', find 'managing tools'(i don't know the exact word cause i'm using a Chinese xp, but you'll be able to find it), then open 'computer manager'. You'll find 'disk manager' on the left panel.Good. Now connect your ipod, click the 'disk manager', give it a minute, and then you'll see your ipod partition on the right panel.Right click it to format it using FAT32, then after it's done, use the ipod updater to restore and there you go! (The un-readable partition can only be formated using this way.)

I need help with a software update problem??
I recently got a new macbook pro and I was doing a software update last night as it was required but then when it started to do the update the computer installed the software and then a barring noise came from the mac and it tried to restart 4 times before it eventually came back on. The software trying to install was Fireware 800 I think. Can anyone help with this?

Need help: question about itunes update problem
I started up iTunes yesterday and a window popped up saying there was a new version of iTunes to update, so I did it, and now I can't save equalizer presets! The feature doesn't work at all anymore, and it used to work great. It just goes back to Manual every time, and just won't save anything you put in. This really frustrates me, as it was one of my fave things about iTunes. Can anybody tell me what happened? Can I fix it or go back to my old version without losing my library?

Try this......... Download the ISO file of preview build 10041 from this link:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/preview-iso-update-1503
Make sure you pick the right bit version, i.e. 32-bit or 64-bit.
Save the ISO to a folder > when it is done downloading, go to the folder >
right click at the ISO > click Mount > click Open > click Setup.exe.
The system will start installing. Pay attention to the screen.
Hope this installation will be successful.
If successful, and after a few updates are installed, you will be offered build 10049 which is the latest build.

Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are not synced. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are not touched with the iTunes sync process. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll can be imported by your computer which is not handled by iTunes. Most importing software includes an option to delete the photos/videos from the Camera Roll after the import process is complete. If is my understanding that some Windows import software supports importing photos from the Camera Roll, but not videos. Regardless, the import software should not delete the photos/videos from the Camera Roll unless you set the app to do so.
Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are included with your iPhone's backup. If you synced your iPhone with iTunes before the videos on the Camera Roll went missing and you haven't synced your iPhone with iTunes since they went missing, you can try restoring the iPhone with iTunes from the iPhone's backup. Don't sync the iPhone with iTunes again and decline the prompt to update the iPhone's backup after selecting Restore. -

Make sure Web-start applications are enabled.
Drag Java 32-bit to the top of the list.
jnlp isn't an audio file format. It's just a java web-start program (Java Network Launching Protocol). -
Im trying to update, but all it does is backup my phone, My itunes is updated, BTW, I just went to Apple bar, i had previous problem with prior phone, now im having this update problem with thyis new phone, someone HELP!!

If you have a 3GS, you can only install iOS 6.1.3 which is the current version of iOS for the device. -

Force close the App Store app and reset the iPad. No data will be lost when you reset the device.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -

I have recently updated my iMac from OS x mountain lion to OS X Mavericks.
After that I can't upload any video and some files to my personal email account.
I have tried to send a small video clip to the sender as attachment. i have done this before
with the same video same and same email account. This problem found just after installed the

Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder — not just its contents — to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Log out and log back in. Launch Mail and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window. If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Repeat with this line:
