Help -2,147,483,648 hours remining reinstalling OS X Lion

Hi! I just recently purchased a 2012 MB Pro from a private party and today I erased the hard drive via disk utility to start over as new user from scratch, now trying to reinstall Lion over wifi connection and I have the same exact problem! Can you advise? What were you able to do to resolve the issue? Thanks for your help!
"But while it was reinstalling the bar was 100% though the time remaining was about -2,147,483,648 hours and 37 minutes remaining. The minutes change every second (13 to 37 to 1 to 30 and so on) though the negative hours stay the same."

Thanks for the feedback, I allowed the install over 45 minutes to see if the time remaining would change but it did not. So I quit the install, rebooted, and then started the install over again two or three times. No luck, same issue. It's weird how others who have had this problem, it is the same exact number: -2,147,483,648 How has anyone who's experienced this issue gotten it resolved?

  • I cannot install OS X Lion on my MacBook Pro. Installing time is in negative hours. (-2,147,483,648 hours)

At first, my macbook couldn't start up. It only displayed apple logo with a spinning wheel on grey screen for hours and hours. Then I decided to reinstall the OS. I tried so many times to install but the installing time said thousands of hours remaining to complete . I left the computer for days but  it didn't install OS. I tried that connecting the Ethernet cable as well but it didn't work.  Then I took out all my important files by connecting it to another macbook and formatted the hard drive. Then tried to install OS again.  But still didn't work. I checked on you tube and changed the hard drive cable as well. Still didn't work. I cannot install OS X Lion on my MacBook Pro. Installing time is in negative hours. (-2,147,483,648 hours). Seriously looking for help.

  • Lion reinstall shows -2,147,438,648 hours remaining

Trying to reinstall Lion, and it's been cooking for nearly 12 hours. It goes down to 3 minutes remaining, then jumps to -2,147,438,648 hours and X minutes (the X varies) remaining...then jumps back to 53 minutes remaining, and repeats. The progress bar is at 100%. This cycle keeps repeating. I'm reluctant to restart during an OS install! Any ideas? Or do I have a time machine that's bringing me back almost 245,000 years?

Thanks for the feedback, I allowed the install over 45 minutes to see if the time remaining would change but it did not. So I quit the install, rebooted, and then started the install over again two or three times. No luck, same issue. Hey all,
after deleting picture and videos on may macbook air using  IPHOTO i restarted my macbook air and after i open it only shows gray screen and apple logo!
    tried the following
-Disconnect any devices connected to the computer
    -Reset PRAM
    -Reset the SMC (power manager).
    -also tried apple hardware test
Went into recovery mode – tried to reinstall the Operating software – Connects to the internet – downloads and tries to install the software.
Things look like they work – but it seems to be stuck in some kind of loop.
I get the below message when I look at the log.

    progres bar shows

Showing time in negetive number is common but not normal.

  • Iphone says i got 2 billion pictures (2.147.483.647exactly) and got only 500

Hi, I got a big bug, my Iphone says that I got more than 2billion pictures on my phone but i have only 500 and i cant open my albums anymore and the photos i take are fully white with "?" in the middle... plz help

I have exactly the same problem. I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5 and turned photostream on. After I took the first photos and iPhone transferred them via WLAN in the cloud, all preview-photos were corrupted and the fullscreen-pictures show only the enlarged preview-pictures. In Settings/General/Info/Usage appear 2.147.483.647 Photos.
BTW: The pictures themself are ok. But I can see them only, if I press "Edit" on the iPhone or if I use other devices and watch the photostream.
I asked Apple Care for help, but all they're tips did not work. 1st-Level Support, 2nd-Level Support, 3rd-Level Support. Nothing helped. Whenever I restore my phones backup, it has the same behavior again. In the end they asked me to setup my phone as a new one.
I did not do so and wait for a solution. May iOS 5.01 will help?
P.S.: I never Jailbreaked my Phone or did other nasty things with it.

  • PerfMon - Messages Queued for Delivery = 2,147,483,764

    Environment - Exchange 2010, DAG 2 X Server 2008 R2.
Hi there, we have noticed that a monitor is reporting there are 2,147,483,764 messages queued for delivery when running this powershell command: get-wmiobject -query "select MessagesQueuedForDelivery from Win32_PerfFormattedData_MSExchangeTransportQueues_MSExchangeTransportQueues"
The value returned by this also matches what we see in the PerfMon > MSExchangeTransport Queues > Messages Queued for Delivery. the number does not increment as messages are sent, in fact it's only showing 2 more today than it was yesterday.
We are wondering just whats going on here, when checking queues in the GUI there are only a couple of messages showing up.
Is this counter just broken? If so how could we fix it?
Thanks for any assistance, regards Peter.

    Hi,
According to your description, it seems that the value is the total number of messages that were queued for delivery since server started.
I recommend you refer to the following article:
    http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/tivihelp/v30r1/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.itmmc.doc%2Fmain_xc85.htm
    Messages Queued For Delivery
The number of messages queued to be delivered when sample was taken. The value
    format is a 4-byte integer.
Messages Queued For Delivery/sec The rate messages are queued for delivery since the server
was started per second. The value format is a decimal.
    Messages Queued For Delivery Total
The total number of messages that were queued for delivery since
server started. The value format is a 4-byte integer.
    Hope this helps!
    Thanks.

When starting Window XP on my laptop (which was connected, in the past, in a wi-fi network now no more available) appears immediatly this allert: "iTunes Helper was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. ERROR 7."
Reistallation of older or up to date  iTunes versions is impossible because: "Installation package iTunes.msi is located on a network resource not available" and because "It is impossible to remuove thew previous verson of iTunes. Impossible fto find the path."
    Someone can help me ???
    Thank,
    Gerald

Take a look at iTunes for Windows: "Error 7" message when opening iTunes. Perhaps your .NET Framework needs a repair.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page).
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
Here's a screenshot showing the particular links on the page that you should be clicking:
After clicking one of the circled links, you should be taken to another page, and after a few seconds you should see a download dialog appear for the msicuu2.exe file. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like for me in Firefox:
Choose to Save the file. If the dialog box does not appear for you, click the link on the page that says "CLICK HERE IF IT DOES NOT". Here's a screenshot of the page with the relevant link circled:
When the dialog appears, choose to save the file.
    (2) Go to the Downloads area for your Web browser. Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • I have downloaded iOS 6 to my iTunes but I have clicked "Download Only" not "Download and Update" how do i install/sync it to my iPad. Please help me, its taken me hours to download it i don't want to do it again :(

I have downloaded iOS 6 to my iTunes but I have clicked "Download Only" not "Download and Update" how do i install/sync it to my iPad. Please help me, its taken me hours to download it i don't want to do it again
    PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Hook your iPad into your computer and open iTunes. GIve it a couple of minutes to get going, then click on the name of your device, then the main summary page. In the middle you'll see a software update button/area. Click on check on updates and update and follow the prompts.
it SHOULDN"T redownload but if you've already got it should just install.
I'd suggest that you first do a complete sync before you update, that way you have a good backup to restore your device from if the upgrade doesn't go perfect.

  • Logic board replaced...asking me to reinstall OS X Lion, but stuck on "loading installation information" for 4 hours. What to do?

I had to have the logic board in my 7 month old iMac replaced due to the fact that my now exboyfriend put a firmware password on my iMac remotely and I couldn't get into my computer. I took it to the Genius Bar and they replaced the logic board so I wouldn't lose any of my files. I just got it back and when I turned it on, it is asking me to reinstall OS X Lion. So, after hitting continue, a box comes up telling me that they have to verify the computer's eligibility with Apple and that it is "loading Installation Information". I've been stuck on this screen for 4 hours, at a 18.25 mbps download speed. What do I need to do? Tried searching forums, but nothing really gives an answer.

Take it back to the Apple Store and make them fix it.

  • I was working with iPhoto downloading pictures and it quit unexpectedly and i lost a bunch of pictures what do i do can they be recovered ? Please can someone help it took me 12 hours between scanning & transferring & dating old family slides

I was working with iPhoto downloading pictures and it quit unexpectedly and i lost a bunch of pictures what do i do can they be recovered some where on my computer?? Please can someone help it took me 12 hours just today not counting yesterday between scanning & transferring with a flash drive then dating old family slides in my iphoto. I lost alot

I was working with iPhoto downloading pictures
Do you mean importing photos? If so what were you importing from? If it is a flash drive why not just re-import from it? Where did you scan them?
As to backups - you really need to always have your backup running - without good backups you will lose all photos sooner or later

    Why? So strange...
is there any setting up for process duration?

In the same comment block where you have the jpd:process tag, set

    That eliminates the conversation timeout.
