HELP 2400+ M In mega pc 180

The problem is that my multiplier is 6:0 !, it should at least be 12.5... (with my 2400+ mobile)
How Should i change it ? ? ? i tryed everything ! (i think)
It should be a BIG dissepointment if there is no solution for this problem ! ! !

If i cant have change multiplier manual, how shold i then have a duron with multiplier 13.5 ?,... sta... i dont likte this !

I have a Athlon XP 3000+ im my MEGA 180 and MSI-8606 card that someway blocks the airflow.

Just watching TV and doing this gives me CPU 40 and SYS 36. Connecting USB device like ATI remote add a extra grade or two.
No mods just some Artic Silver 5
Tried to revere the fans but I need to by some longer screws for the lager fan.
Will see if I nedd to to this. Have order a FX5700le card. Just 128 MB not 256 MB bucause of the heat issue.

[Mega PC 180 Deluxe] Media Center III shows widescreen AVI in stretched fullscreen

Hey Guys,
I need some advice. I have Media Center Deluxe III running on my Mega PC 180 Deluxe and it works just fine... except for one titty bitty thingy:
All my DiVX widescreen films are stretched into fullscreen mode. Ergo, all of the film is stretched (long heads and stuff...)
How can this be prevented or solved, because it really is annoying.
Plz Help me with this!

I believe that function is only for viewing the videos from the preview window to fullscreen. I don't think it enables/disables "stretch mode" but i'll try that tonight.

Mega TV Tuner for Mega PC 180 giving a clicking sound

Can anyone help me, I bought the Mega TV tuner for the Mega PC 180 and all I get is picture, but no sound except a clicking sound? I have tried downloading the latest drivers, which make no difference.
I am Totally annoyed
PC : Mega PC 180
OS: XP Pro SP1
Processer: AMD XP 2800+
Ram: 512 DDR333
HDD: 120Gb
DVDwriter: Pioneer A07

Few things to check.
If the sound software is the same as the 865 , make sure you haven't configured your sound card to 4 way sound (if you have then the line in will become your second set of speakers) If you need 4 speckers then plug the cable from your TV card into your mic. Again I am unsure of the TV card so if it has an internal sound cable connection then this would be the best to use and plug it in to the TV sound socket on board.
Next you need to make sure what source you have pluged it into is not muted. Normally when the software mutes the card it mute the line that the card is meant to come in on. So start up the software then check this input.
Last how have you set up the software as this need to know the import. Normally it is line in but this is not always the case.

well i have updated my bios with live uptdae 3 and it was not a brilliant idea ..now all my fan are working at max power (nice noise ) ... so if someone can save the origianl bios of mega pc 180 (using flashwin) and send it to me ...it could be very coool... so i hope somebody can help me

Take a look: bios 3.30 has been released.
I've it and my fan works without problem.
Be warned: if you have an old cpu maybe it's without thermal sensor and if it's so the fan will work at max speed.

I would like to purchase a Mega PC 180 with a TV tuner.
Is TV@nywhere Master card the only tv tuner compatible or other cards such as Personal Cinema FX5200 are also compatible ?
A last question : What kind of fan do you install on such machine ?

the recommended TV tuner is the Mega TV Tuner (MS8606-40) as it is a more compact size and comes without the FM tuner
as i couldn't find one anywhere in the UK, I went for the TV@nywhere Master (MS8606), which is virtually the same card, only a different size and with an FM tuner (which isn't used anyway)
it fits, but you'll find its a bit of a tight squeeze to get in
as for your question about the fan, there is no need, the mega pc comes with everything you need - except the cpu, memory, hard drive and optical (CD/DVD) drive...

Mega PC 180 Remote (HiFi Mode) and Eject problem SOLVED

I just bought the MSI DR8-A DVD Writer......... and Gues what..??!!??
- Now i don`t have any problems anymore with the Remote in HIFI mode (strange)
- Also the new drive will eject as it supose to ........
I am a very happy man now.
I am all set up, and my Home Media Center is complete Now.
Don`t understand some of you guys still having problems....

A pretty common trick used on Biostar SFFs (which are even smaller than the 180) is to add two Zalman 80 x 15 OP1 fans to the side panels. Left panel toward the front and right panel toward the rear. This gives a good cross ventilation flow and when you run the fans on the low voltage setting-----it is totally silent---so you haven't added any noise to the overall setup.

Mega PC 180 Problems when turned off...

I have a problem with my Mega PC 180.
The problem consists of that when I turn off the computer for more than a day when I then turn on the computer doesnt find my the inbuilt soundcard. Sometimes I have to re install it and sometime I just have to turn off the computer pull out the powercoord put it back and reboot.
This only happends then the computer is turned of for a longer period of time (More than a day)
Anyone with a solution och with the same problem ?

i remember someone suggesting disabling the built-in modem in BIOS if it is not being used

Maybe you can check your hardwarezone page for more info. I really have to agree that I simply luv the MEGA PC180 too... [glow]Slick silvery speakers[/glow] with the combinations of black casing with [glow]fancy[/glow] display and the specs simply puts it in the 1st spot of the race...

MSI mega pc 180 front panel lcd ajustements

I've had some trouble with my hifi function and the lcd panel at the front of my mega pc 180. I made the mistake with the installing the greetings software. Now the lcd has fallen out and hifi dus no longer work. I was glad that the lcd had dropped out, as the light from this panel was anoying me, while I sleep next to it.
Is it possible to do the firmware upgrade, to get the panel and the hifi to work again, but also make it possible to shut down the panel whenever I would like to?
If not, I'm leaving the wrecked firmware as it is now

Mega pc 180 and spdif output

Hallo,
I have a mega pc 180 and i also have a Logitech® Z-5500 Digital speaker set. There a 2 ways to attach the speakers to the pc.
1 with 3 cables (front, rear, center and sub)
2 with spdif.
I think option 2 with spdif is the best, but I weet it not certain. Who has experience with spdif?
And does spdif als works in hifi modes?
And what are the "know" bugs of spdif on the mega pc 180?

I have a mega 180 and use the optical spdif (also called TOSLINK) connection for all audio out of my mega. I have it attached to a digitial receiver. I use it with base windows xp, MCE 2005, winamp, wmp, 1by 1, windvd, power dvd, and zoom player. You do have to configure it from several places. The base nvidia sound utility, win dvd, power dvd, and zoom player.
I had it set to use the on board soundstorm dolby encoding.. but after a while decided I actually liked it better with just sending digital info directly out in lpcm format and let the receiver figure out how to decode it. This set up works for me sending dolby sound from dvds and it also works for CD or radio in hifi mode and in fact the dial on the mega does adiust the volume. I actually wish I could force all audio to be maximum all the time from the meag and then just control it from my receiver. There are several programs that for some reason want to set the audio level master to around 80 %.

Helping my dad with mega photo project....

He has about 35,000 pics from various trips over the years.
Trouble is, they're on cards, on his Mac (20,000 approx.) and on an external hardive too.
No surprise he's having problems with iPhoto now - confusing mess of events, duplicates, slow processing, etc
He's pretty clueless and I'm a Windows guy, but I said I'd try to help him out.
I think he mainly just wants to sort through everything, label, delete pics he doesn't like, and then eventually make slideshows with music.
So here's my suggestion:
Delete everything off his iPhoto/Mac.
Painstakingly transfer everything from cards onto mega external hardive.
Sort through everything, label, organize, delete etc off the external hardive.
And then begin to slowly load folder after after onto iPhoto in an organized, logical, manner.
What do you think?
Maybe for what he wants to do, iPhoto will only screw him up - once there are like 10,000+ photos crammed on there?

iPhoto 11 is good for 1,000, 000 images, earlier versions for 250k.
If space is a concern the Library can be on an external disk with no performance hit.
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
Of course you need a second drive to back it up.

HELP! My new Mega 865 Problem

Hi, It would be great if anyone can help me with this:
I am using MEGA 865 + P4 Prescott 3.2E + XP SP2. When I browse internet or browse my computer, the windows always close down. And I found some infomation in the XP Event viewer with event ID 1002. (The shell was stopped and then restarted. By default, the shell is explorer.exe).
It seems like explorer.exe restarted.

as for your P4 3.2 prescott, i have seen a couple of users with 3.2s, maybe if SilenTYL drops through he might be able to confirm, as he also is running a 3.2ghz, but maybe not a prescott
though if the CPU is detected at startup by BIOS correctly, then that may not be the issue, but the issue of overheating could be, or even bad memory...

WIN XP installation trouble on mega pc 180

I just got my new Mega 180 but when i installed all my hardware (AMD 1Ghz, 256MB 333, WD40GB, Lite-on cd burner, Asus tv card) and i tried installing XP prof, when you get in the second fase of the installation the system just freezes. Always happens when you see the windows logo for the loading part.
I concidered a Bios flash, but when i tried that the flash utilty said it was missing a source file, any info on that?
Who's got tips, hints or whatever to make it work?

There ia always a bin file required for a flash. Down load the lastest from MSI web site. I haven't heard of the BIOS upsetting the install but anything is possible. Have you got any external devices connected to the computer during the install.
From other port memory can be a pain in the 180 so if you have some other memory you might consider swapping to see if that was the issue.
Are you on a network, if so dissconnect while installing.
