Help! 3d crashes using cs6

Below is my system configuration:
**DELL i5 INSPIRON N5010**
Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU 370 @ 2.40GHz
RAM  6 GB
System Type : 64 bit OS Windows 7 Home Premium
Graphic Card : ATI Mobility Radeon HD 550v (1GB) (No Updates available for last 2 years)
My problem is when I try to work with 3d workspace while using 3d feature for a particular object, it shows 3d platform and default 3d settings/properties to that particular shape but as soon as i try to click on scene or any other property option in 3d layer menu it stops working and shows not responding error. I suspect  the video card as I have only had this computer about one year and no problems with cs5. From what I can find out is that this is one of the video cards not tested by Adobe.  Does anyone have a system similar to mine that has had this problem but got it solved?  Any help will be appreciated!

Hopefully, someone with the Windows version of CS6 will try, too.
I extrude text all the time.
Display driver quality TREMENDOUSLY effects the stability of the 3D capabilities of Photoshop.  I was getting a fair number of crashes with the ATI Catalyst 12.10 drivers, but now that I've moved up to 12.11 I haven't seen one in 2 days.
Unfortunately, if you can't update your driver because your setup is no longer currently supported, I'm not sure what you can do - maybe experiment with the settings in the Advanced section of Edit - Preferences - Performance, and also in the 3D section.

  • Need help verifying a used CS6 Design Standard

    Hey guys,
I need to buy a Design Standard CS6 for my company, but I am unsure as to the correctness of the software license certificate - it states that it is for CS5/5.5. On the delivery receipt however it states that it's for a WIN/MAC version of CS6. So which one is it? I am interested in purchasing this, but I need a CS6 not CS5.5. The link to the sales offer is below:

    Thanks for your help
    Best,

Thanks. However, on the Software License Transfer page of the adobe website it states that "in case of volume license transfer, contact Adobe support". So is it really impossible to sell a volume license?
Also, I have another question: I live and conduct business in Poland. Can I purchase the adobe creative suite directly from adobe.com (it saves me around 200 USD - and is also in english language, which I prefer over polish package) and legally use it in my place of residence? I see no reason why it wouldn't work that way, but software licensing in commercial products is sometimes riddled with traps, so I would like to clarify

Hello, Our indesign file keeps crashing and we need to go to print today. We use CS6. Please help!

Ok - we're going to need a few more details.
Operating System - Windows or Mac?
Version of CS6 - are you fully patched to the latest version (Help>Updates)?
Do you use any 3rd Party Plugins (Help>Manage Extensions and look for 3rd Party Plugins)
At what point does it crash? How are you exorting/printing?
What file type or action are you doing when it's crashing?

Spoken to IT support who inform me its because files are on network, however they are on my desktop and program is installed on my PC not a network.

    Other sizes print. Bizarre.

Nvidia Graphics Processor (windows Vista) crashes on CS6 and works on CS5

    Hi Steve in Palm Desert!
I see you are running Windows Vista. You know that Vista is not supported for CS6, right? It is not prevented from running, but not supported.
That known, what video card do you have ? Do you have the most updated driver?  My laptop is brand new and I had an outdated video driver right upon delivery.
    Maybe that could help.

  • Error while editing a pdf using CS6

Just recently, when I am attempting to edit a pdf it becomes unresponsive.  I am currently using CS6.  I have not done anything different.  Since I have been experiencing this problem, I have uninstalled CS6 and re-installed with no resolution to the problem.
    Any ideas?

    That’s weird.  How about this
    1.    which platform, Mac or Windows, and if possible please provide the operation system and its version?
    Windows 7
1a. please provide your hardware info, that is, which CPU, how much RAM, and how much free space your hard disk still has available
    cid:[email protected]
    2.    which Acrobat version are you using? You can find this on the application's splash screen when you select "About Acrobat" (Mac: menu/Acrobat/About Acrobat & Windows: menu/Help/About Acrobat)
    Version 10.1.8
    3.    please provide the 'dot release' version you are using, such as Acrobat 10.1.8 and not just Acrobat 10
    10.1.8
    4. are all CS applications installed on the same computer and in the "Applications" folder?
All on the same computer, but I apologize, where would I find the Applications folder?
    4.    was Acrobat installed as part of your CS installation, or was it independently installed?
Yes, Adobe Acrobat was installed as port of the CS installation.
    6. if independently installed, was it before or after the CS apps?
    7. what kind of PDF's are you trying to edit where this happens - does it always happen with every PDF or just particular ones?
    Every pdf.
    - I am trying to get a picture of what kind of content inside the PDF you typically work with, e.g., text-only, forms, graphic images
    All the above
    8. are you working inside a local network, if yes, how many computers are connected to it?
Local Network, 9 computers and I am th only one with access to the CS6 Suite 10.1.8
    9. do you use any kind of cloud storage (such as Box, DropBox, etc) or network syncing processes
    Drop Box
    10. are you able to see whether other processes are taking place at the same time as when you use Acrobat, for example virus scanning, updating, etc
Yes, I think so.  By the task manager?

  • No local help files for Photoshop CS6 extended

    Hi
I wish to use local help files for Photoshop CS6 but only online support is available. Local files are not listed under the Adobe Help preferences. The option to search only local rather than online help is greyed out. I found and downloaded a PDF with of the help files but don't know where to install it or if this is possible. I have CS 5 Creative Suite and this works fine giving the option of local or online help when accessed.
Is there a way to install and use local help files in photoshop CS6?
    Thank you.

Hi and thanks for directing me to that article, it should have done the trick. I am using mac mountain lion 10.8.5.
The help system has always operated oddly - I have Photoshop cs6 but also the cs5 master suite installed. CS5 works fine but Photoshop cs6 only gives the option for online help and then directs me to the CC site. There is no simple listing for just Photoshop help in the help menu - presumably as it is not seeing it installed
I tried various configurations in the article, having to set up the folders they suggested. In my case, in a variety of alternative places as I have a boot up volume with the documents folder moved onto a RAID array so the Shared folder is not in the documents folder but in Users on the boot drive. So - confusing - but tried all the likely candidates and folder configurations/locations while following the instructions as closely as possible. Even tried an documents folder alias to redirect the program to the alternative path way.
At least now I have the PDFs and can look through them outside the adobe interface. The problem with the community site being questions regarding photoshop alone, yield answers for all sort of other issues and programs.
Thanks for your help though, which should have worked, appreciated.

  • CS5 color print problem using CS6

I upgraded from CS5 on XP to CS6 hosted on Windows 7, 64 bit.  Images loaded into my new CS6 system from my camera or the web display and print perfectly. I am using the same printer for CS6 as I did for CS5, an Epson 3800.  However, when I open and print older CS5 generated images using CS6, the images print with what appears to be reversed grey tones and off color but the monitor displayed colors appear just as good as they did on CS5. In summary, images generated in CS6 print ok, but images generated under my old CS5 system print with off colors using CS6 but display ok.  Thanks for your suggestions and help.

  • SelectToolByName intermittently crashes (Illustrator CS6, OSX)

    Hi,
I've been writing some tool switching code, and have been having an issue using Illustrator CS6 (16.0.4) on OSX (using either mountain lion or mavericks) where setting SetSelectedToolByName eventually crashes due to an EXC_BAD_ACCESS error, even when passing in basic string constants.
Here's a simple example based on the Annotator sample code, where I setup a thread to periodically switch between two common tools after selecting the Annotator tool:
Usually, this code will work X number of iterations before crashing, where X can be anywhere from 15 to 200 or 750ish or not at all. This ultimately feels like a  multi-threaded race condition at work.
    So what's the stacktrace?
    There's three scenarios/stacktraces to show:
    1) First type of crash resulting in EXC_BAD_ACCESS error, while running Illustrator api under XCode's debugger. This is all the same state of the code for the screenshots below when the breakpoint hits.
full-size images also available at: http://imgur.com/a/Iy6tF
    2) Second type of crash is similar, but giving a SIGABRT message:
full-size images also available at: http://imgur.com/a/ERCCD
    3) While this sample code doesn't seem to generate an adobe 'bug report' (it just hard-crashes with no 'report crash to adobe' dialog), my main app that uses SetSelectedToolByName has generated the following crash log:

I'd love to hear a response from Adobe on this. It's been causing me weeks of frustration.

    Another update,
I'm also observing the same crash using Illustrator CC, and using the other method of setting tools by first acquiring a tool handle.
Here's the code that uses the handles instead, similar  to other code found in the samplecode folder:
...and here's the first type of crash observed:
    ...and the second type:

  • Using CS6 Photoshop - Unable to select tool or zoom etc

Using CS6 Photoshop on a Toshiba Laptop. Satellite L850 - I7-3610QM CPU Intel @ 2.30GHz - 12.0 GD Ram - 64 bit - Windows 7 - Direct x 11 - AMD Radeon HD 7670M ATI Graphics - Current display mode ... 1920 x 1080 - I begin by opening a photo to work on for a tutorial as a beginner. I right click on spot healing brush, current selection "spot healing brush tool " if I try to left click to select " healing brush tool" it wont for quite some time, and I can not hold space bar to display hand to move and sometimes can not even zoom. This happens no matter which tool I select. Can anyone help ???

c.pfaffenbichler thank you also for your kind response. I did go the the site you linked. Was taking a great deal of time to find anything relevant, at the end could not find fix. However, your link and advise has not gone astray. Thank you
