Help a newbie please - never ending com.android.settings suddenly stopped

My k1 was apparently autoupdating when i saw the android man with completion bar stop. It wiped my apps and when i turn it on i get "boot recovery image" followed by a green android man with the caution sign (yellow triangular sign with black !). Eventually the k1 loads but then i get a k1 update message "we have detected critical updates and features..." if i click okay, i get a 'com.android.settings had suddenly stopped.' 20 seconds later i get the k1 update message again... over and over. All my apps are gone which is fine i dont care. I tried settings-privacy-restore, i get the warning all data will be erased, it runs thru, but nothing changes. Same green man on boot, same neverending k1 update message. It was working fine but all the sudden (im assuming an autoupdate happened) its one annoying message after another. Please help. Do i need to reimage? If so, how? Sorry for my ignorance, please help. I have a k1 loaded with 3.1 (purchased at office depot).

Okay, I downloaded te files and follwed the instructions from the sticky.
It took me a little while to find the drivers since the the zip file had been moved to a mediafire zip, but I was able to use the  Nvidiasetup file and the AMD64 folder to get it to installed.  I started that bat file to flash and everything seemed to be going well - the K1 went into a mode and the DOS commands were rolling across the screen.  Then it said 'creation file failed.'  and just sat there.  and sat there. no more commands moving on the DOS prompt.  for like ten minutes.   I finally shut it down and tried to start again, but now when I put the K1 into APX and plug it in - there are no "Other Devices (or APX)" showing in the Device Manager.  I plug in a flash drive in the usb port and it works so the usb port seems fine.
I have no idea what happened but now I can't even seem to get the computer to recognize that the tablet is plugged in.
The tablet and the computer both have power and never lost power during the process so there was no interrupt.
help, please.

  • "com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" error

I have the first motorola droid that came out(A855). I keep getting this error message on my phone "The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" Gives me the option to force close or report. I have the latest software update(Droid 2.2). I have tried everything to fix this problem, reboot and take the battery out, cut off the cdma signals. I have did the factory data reset on it and the hard reset and it still did not go away. I think it is a bug in the software but not for sure. Do I need to send it to motorola to get it repaired are something? I can receive phone calls and make calls but as soon as I do the error pops up. I can send text messages but cant receive them. Please, anyone, Help Me Fix This Problem, Thanks

Take it back to verizon, you have a 1 year warranty, they will make you jump through the hoops, including doing another factory reset, but you should be able to get a replacement.

  • Unfortunately the process com.android.systemui has stopped. Sony Xperia M2

Hello guys. Basically I'm really concerned and frustrated right now. I own a Sony Xperia M2. And I turn my phone on only to find a message pops up saying 'Unfortunately, the process com.android.systemui has stopped. So I press 'OK'. And then my phone starts to glitch out and it keeps coming up repeatedly. I can't get into or tap anything. It ends up freezing. I have tried rebooting the phone lots of times but still has the same effect. And I've tried going to PC companion and restoring it there but it says it needs access to the lock screen, which I can't unlock as the phone keeps glitching. This is really bugging me. Please help?

  • Process com.android.phone has stopped...

I received a message saying I need to clear some space on my phone to receive any further messages. Then I started receiving error messages the first one says Sorry! The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. This pops up repeatedly non-stop. I can't place calls, get into any apps, I really can't do anything. If I restart the phone I get the error message System UIDs Inconsistent with the only option to click "I feel lucky".
I tried putting the phone in safe mode, but the same error message keeps popping up, it still says my phone is low on memory, and I can't do anything with my phone.
What do I do?? Please help!

        Hey there trinarose!
I know how much of a burden it can be to get an error on your phone like this! I want to help you out. It sounds like there is a corrupt file on the device. At this point what I would recommend is a master reset of the device. Take a look at the steps here http://bit.ly/OgmMQm. Please remember to save all your information prior to erasing the phone. Please let us know if you're still having issues with this.

My phone was working fine till I did the April update just a couple of days ago. Now I have no service and the message

I haven't update any apps in months, I have tried a shutting the phone off and one. Have revoved the batterey and reinserted to
see if that would help. I even went in and killed some apps I never downloaded and do not use.
I can hook up to my home wi fi but can not get verizone signal.
I have been working on this phone for 6 hours now. Any help would be much appreciated.

Try a system cache clear; if that doesn't help, back everything up, remove your SD card to be on the safe side, and do a factory reset.  See this thread for more info.:

    Great suggestion Wildman!  Thanks!
simplyk1, so sorry you are experiencing this with your new device.  I am happy to further assist.
Wildman gave a great suggestion, I would like to add if you noticed this particular error message after downloading a specific application(s), uninstall the application.  I am including a link with instructions and screen shots for uninstalling applications below:

Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the onscreen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process

Plz I need a help..when I open my whatsapp it's suddenly stop how I can fix this ..this morning it was gd but now suddenly stop .

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

I have seen an almost identical problem within an Apache CXF web service. In my situation the end of the stack looks almost identical, stuck forever (apparently) inside the native Deflater.deflateBytes.
In my situation I have seen this with two threads, each independently using GZIPOutputStream.
I am really starting to think that there is a thread safety issue with the native GZIP code - two independent objects in two threads are simultaneously zipping and both get stuck with 100% CPU utilization in the native code. Interestingly my situation is also in the close processing, but not inside the finish processing. Of all the situations I see with searching for similar situations (search the web for Deflater.java:306) there seems to be a set of common circumstances:
    * Exactly the same last few levels on the stack (ending in Deflater.deflateBytes (Native Method)
    * Two threads interacting with GZIP
    * Often seems to relate to close processing (perhaps a short data remainder problem?)
    My situation is documented here:

    4) TABLE DATA:

    5) the statement will NEVER end run!

Does anyone ever encounter the problem? a program bug? or wrong data?
I don't know how to upload the data file. but i can send the file by e-mail if needed.
    Thanks!

    Hi Liu,
I ran this against 9.2.0.4 after updating the user_sdo_geom_metadata entry to get rid of some validation errors:
    update user_sdo_geom_metadata set diminfo =
    MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ARRAY(
    MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('X', 498047.221, 503492.691, .005),
    MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('Y', 303369.564, 311690.94, .005))
    where table_name='GUNITA_SUB' and column_name='TOS_GEOM';
This allowed the data to validate better (no more redundant points), but the data is still invalid due to overlapping polygons within a single geometry. Oracle will not guarantee results on invalid data, so the fact that I can get it to work in this release does not predict that it will work in any other release. You need to use valid data with spatial.
Also, please remove it from the SYSTEM schema!
    Kind regards,
    Dan

  • HELP the Newbie Please??? / MetaData Issue

    Hello All
I'm using the Trial Version of Premiere Pro on my HP PC
I am trying to use MetaData in an effort to Convert Audio to Text BUT...
the "Analyze" Tab is not visible on the lower right of the preview screen.
And my Extensions are grayed out.
Is this because I'm using the Trial Version?
If not, what would I need to do to activate my Disabled Extensions??

Thank You Mark for your response.
As embarrassing as this is to admit, I was actually able to find what I was looking for. I needed to "manually" expand the preview monitor to see the "Analyze" tab under Metadata.
I'm now seeking instruction on uploading the completed project to YouTube so please....wish me luck. lol

  • "com.android.settings" Crashes When checking Battery

When I try to check the battery status/settings I keep getting this error message and the app crashes.  I can view the historic data about battery usage, but I cannot get into any other settings with out it crashing.  I haven't changed anything to my knowledge, only got my Driod X on Saturday.
    Please advise.

I use the Battery Indicator app on my Droid X and experienced the same issue. I emailed the developer and this is what he said, "Thanks for taking the time to report this.  It is actually a known bug in Motorola's Android 2.2 release for the Droid X.  It's a bug in the Battery Use screen, which is part of Android.  Motorola is aware of the issue, but it's hard to say exactly when they will release a fix."

  • [A1] Application Launcher (process com.android.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly

I've had my slate for about a week and this message keeps popping up upon boot. And it keeps coming back.
I haven't rooted it, I haven't installed anything off-market, I've just slapped on a screen protector and upgraded to the latest OTA (http://download.lenovo.com/slates/a1/OTA/A107W0_A234_001_014_2525_ROW.zip).
I've powered the system down for a few minutes and put the charger on, but the next time I power on, it boots up slower. I have to wait about 30 seconds to enter the Unlock screen, and another 10 before my Home screen icons appear.
If I try to switch between the standard Home Launcher panes, the scrolling stutters. If I open the built-in web browser, the application launcher crashes and I enter the endless cycle of FORCE QUIT buttons. (I can try to enter the icon list, but it's blank.)
I've done the hold-the-power-button-until-the-device-turns-off, power-on and enter Recovery menu and deleted everything off my slate (return to Factory Settings) and reinstalled everything (save for the OTA ROM which remained there) and things were working fine until a few minutes ago when I wanted to complain about Airplane mode. Airplane mode, let me make another thread on that.
In a nutshell, this Force Quit message is annoying. The slow power-on is annoying. Power-off/power-on does nothing. Factory-reset does nothing. And I've got an Airplane mode bug now. What's wrong and how do I fix it? (I'm already getting the support number on lenovo.com/support/phone ( http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?DocID=PD008893 ) and calling them Monday morning.)

perhaps a master reset will reoslve your issue.
