Help! Adding Text in CS3...

Hi, I am trying to put my CV into a Dreamweaver web page, by
copying and pasting from a word document.
I can get the font size, colour correct, but the tabs are all
over the place.
I fear I will need to add code for new paragraphs rather than
just spacing and tabbing the text to where I want it to sit. I have
looked at all the properties with Text but can't find anything that
works. Is there a way of doing this or will I have to go through
each line adding a snippet of code?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

***Editing video: Help adding text to my video! Gamut-like problem***

Hi, I'm using the Photoshop CS6 free trial and I'm having trouble adding text to my video. I select the Text tool on the left side of the screen and when I expand the box to add text, it automatically changes my video to a gamut-like screen. I can still add text but the screen doesn't change back to my video. I don't know what I can do to fix this problem. I already tried turning off the gamut warning but it doesn't fix the problem.

You need to create a separate video track for the text overlay. You are simply trying to type in soem existing stuff and it invalidates your existing video.

Please help- adding text/titles to a clip

I seem to have this problem continuously, and have previously worked around it, but it's giving me the s**ts.
Here's the scenario- I want to add text OVER a clip, not on black.
Sounds simple right?
NOPE! I do the preview- yup it's over the clip.
I click add, or drag it, or click the tick in the preview.
As it's rendering- yup, shows it over the clip.
But as soon as it STOPS- all of a sudden it's just text on black.
I've tried using different sorts of titles (from music to subtitles, everything) but the exact same thing happens- preview is fine, as it renders it looks fine, but it ends up being text on black. (Yes, I have 'on black' unchecked).
I also tried adding it in different ways, ie adding at the playhead or dragging it in- no difference.
Am I missing something vitally obvious here? How can I get my text OVER the clip?

a. to add text - the text tool has to know where. Just placing playhead will not
work. The text tools orients after clip cuts. You need to do a cut where the text
is supposed to start.
b. I guess that deleting pref file might get iMovie to behave.
Not knowing the origin to Your problem - General approach when in trouble is as follows:
Many possible origins. Most common:
• Free space on internal (start-up) hard disc if it is less than 10Gb should rather have 25Gb
• Hard disc is untidy: Repair Permissions, Repair Hard disc (Apple Disc Util tool)
• Delete iMovie pref file - or rather start a new user/account - log into this and re-try
• Third party plug-ins that doesn't work OK
• Program miss-match: iMovie 5.0.2, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.4 - is OK
iMovie pref file resides: Mac Hard Disk (start-up HD)/Users/"Your account"/Library/Preferences
and is named: com.apple.iMovie.plist
While iMovie is NOT RUNNING - move this file out to desk-top.
Now restart iMovie.

Need Help Adding Text To A Template

I would like to add text as it opens, going across the flag, something like this....

Now, obviously, that's not what I want it to say, but it's an example, of how I want it to move across the page, on the flag, before it opens to the first page. I've tried everything I know to do. I'm sure I'm just missing something silly. Can anyone help me?

I am searching for template help tutorials, and I don't know if I'm just calling it the wrong thing or what.
I want the text to scroll ACROSS the screen, on entry to the site, across one of the stripes on the flag. Every tutorial I have found tells you how to add scrolling text in the box, like paragraphs. I just want one line, a Welcome Message, if you will, that goes across the screen. I was able to do this in DHTML previously, but Flash is a whole new ball game for me.

So, I'll try that and see if it does what I want it to do.

I have opened up a GIF in photoshop that I recently created and wanted to add text to it but I can't find the Timeline optinon in the Winbdow tab to add the text to each frame/layer.

HT5525 Help adding text to the bottom of iPhoto book pages?

Hi -
I am working on a deadline (of course) to get an iPhoto book done for my parents' anniversary.
I have my photos placed, and have planned well to know how many characters can fit into each space below and next to photos in the text boxes provided.
I just tried my first page... it's a 6-photo page, with a little box at the bottom for a blurb.
When I click on it, it lights up blue, suggesting the space I have to work in.
Now, the frustrating part: As I start to type, it starts on the left side of the bottom of the page, but I only get about half-way across, and some invisible TAB seems to be in the text box. It starts my next word on the next line. I tried to use the align button, but even if I center the text, it stays on the far right side of the page, and significantly limits the number of words/characters I can use. Even if it causes me to be brief, which I can do, these tabs cause the look of the page to be out of balance.
Do you have any idea how I can get rid of tabs??

Adding Text to a photo...Need help

I'm new to Adobe Photoshop Elements 7. I'm following the instructions for adding text to a photo, but I can't see what I'm typing. I can see the cursur, but nothing else. I can see the text in the Layer, but not on the photo. Please help.

Check the font size in the options bar. If it's really small you won't see it.
Look in your layer's palette and insure your text is in a layer located above the photo in the stack.
You might also check your image's resolution in the Image Size dialog. I've seen a couple of posts where someone changes the resolution to 1 with resample turned off...then can't see the text because it's too small even when they have large numbers inserted in the font size box.

Why does Preview automatically resize the text box to cut off the last character of added text? How do I fix it?
I use the Tools > Annotate > Add Text feature, and when I click away after adding text, it automatically changes the text box size such that the last letter -- or last word -- gets bumped off into an invisible line below it, forcing me to manually adjust every single text box. It is highly annoying when trying to complete PDF forms (e.g. job applications).
It appears to be a glitch, quite honestly, an error resulting from Apple's product design. Has it been fixed in the new operating system (for which they want $30)?
I would very much appreciate any help you can provide! Thank you for your time.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Added text & signatures do not print correctly

I am using Acrobat Reader v10.4.4 on my iPad Mini with IOS 6.1.2 and am having issues printing. I can open any PDF and have it displayed correctly. I can add text and signatures and the document is saved correctly because it can be opened after the changes are made and they are still there. When I try to print the document where I have added text and signatures to, the document does not print correctly. All of the text and the signature are shrunk to a very small size and appear in the lower left hand of the page.
I depend on my apps to work they way they should and having this issue makes my work very hard. I have to be very creative and perform unnecessary steps to get my PDF's to print the way they should. Does anyone have some insight in to this bug?

Here every time i have to create a new BranchGroup (bgRed) for each Text i add. Earlier in this place i was adding my lines objects depending upon there start and end possition.This was just to test.Also it does not thro any error or exception while adding text nodes.

Adding Text

Can anyone help me out on adding text to an image. I have followed the instructions in both books and videos on how to add text (using the text tool) and when I get to the point of typing text in, it doesn't go 'in'. The box that I assume it should show up in just stares at me - blank. What am I missing?

Also, there are basically two types of Text: Paragraph Text, where you first drag a Text Box, and what I'll call "Open Text," 'cause I'm having a brain cramp and cannot come up with the proper syntax. There are some differences in the behavior of the two. The manual (do they still ship those, or is F1 the only recourse nowadays?), should make the distinctions clear.
Also, when Text does not behave, as you think it should, look at your Layers Palette. Since about version 5, PS creates a Text Layer, when you start using the Text Tool. Make sure that you are in the correct Layer. If it doesn't seem to be working still, Dbl-click the icon with the T in the correct Layer. You should see your Text selected/highlighted. With the Text Tool, you can edit, or add to from there. This gets you on the correct Layer. If you first just click with the Text Tool, you are most likely creating a new Text Layer, which is not what you want, if you intend to edit, or add to existing Text. Always keep the Layers Palette open and in view. When things don't work, check to see just which Layer is active. That is NOT just for Text, but for almost everything in PS.
Good luck, and let us know how it goes. I also like the "Classroom in a Book" series from Adobe Press. They step you though many aspects of PS in little "projects." They are fun, expose you to things that you might not find for a bit, and are highly informative.

Adding text to a rectangle

hi, i am making a hierachical tree . i think the best way to do this is via rectangles and lines using java 2d. i was just wondering if there was any way of adding text to a rectangle apart from the drawstring method from the 2d api. or does anyone know of any other way to do this? the tree needs to be interactive so i cant use jlabels and jbuttons are quite ugly

yeah, thanks, it did help. it's just i'm new to layout algorithms and there was a couple of things i wasn't too sure on.
i have used defaultmutabletreenodes instead of creating my own class as you did but i don't think that matters too much. i wasn't too sure about how you worked out the spacing for each node. i have done a breadth first traversal through all the nodes so i would know how many nodes are on each level and could work out the spacing needed for each level based on this i.e. look at the next level and place the current level in proportion. did you do something similar in the treelayout class?
would this approach work even if the amount of nodes is large, could the container containing the tree be in a scrollpane?
the problem i found with drawstring is that you need to provide coordinates for where to draw the text instead of just adding it to the rectangle (like you could in a jlabel) so it could look untidy. could you make a jlabel interactive or add text to a rectangle?

EE have taken my credit when I tried adding texts on 453. I tried adding "unlimited" texts via my usual method, dialling 453 and going through the steps. But what happened was, I got to the stage where I had confirmed my purchase, and suddenly, the voice said that there was an "error" and I recieved no confirmation that the payment had processed. However, the credit was deduced, leaving me with just over £2.50 credit (the texts were £7.50). It's been 3 hours, and with EE's helpline being closed, and the fact I now have no texts leaving me unable to contact anyone, I am stuck, and ripped off out of £10. Any help?
