Help! (Adding tracks problems)

Help!
Whenever I start off with 8 Audio tracks, and then add more tracks on top of that 8, the original 8th track will not play.
If I add something in the 9th track, that will play, but whatever was in the 8th track won't. If I mute the 9th track, then the 8th WILL play. Adding tracks only affects the 8th track (the last track of the original 8), the other 7 play fine.
Help!!

You may only have 8 devices defined. Run the Setup Wizard to check:
Logic > Preferences > Start Logic Setup Assistant
Also, make sure you are using:
Track > Create with Next Instrument
since the standard create uses the same as the one you're selecting and that means the behaviour that you've described.

Majority of recently added tracks won't sync (error -50); previously added tracks sync fine

Argh. I have a 5th Gen iPod Classic (80GB) and, until very recently, it's been functioning quite well. Now I am getting error "'iTunes could not copy {song name} to the iPod {iPod name} because an unknown error occured (-50)." when trying to sync songs I have recently added to iTunes from several sources. However, a few recently added tracks successfully synced.
In particular, there are numerous albums and songs recently purchased from Amazon that do not sync, although they play fine in iTunes. In addition, a free song downloaded from Last.FM does not sync. I also tried ripping a CD to AAC, and the majority of the songs do not sync. (The first time I tried to sync the songs ripped from CD, only one track synced. The second time, a second track synced as well. 36 additional tracks have failed to sync).
Note that there is nothing different about the format (codec, bitrate) of these newly added tracks. Tracks added a month or so ago with identical specs and from the same sources were able to sync without a problem.
A free song downladed today from the iTunes store did sync, however.
I am on XP SP3 (up to date) and have tried all of the following:
* Updating iTunes to latest version (10.6.3.25)
* Uninstalling then reinstalling iTunes
* Updating firmware on my iPod (was 1.2, upgraded to 1.3)
* Performing "Restore" on iPod and freshly re-syncing all tracks
* Enabling the "Enable disk use" option on the iPod
* Updating the Windows registry as directed in this tech bulletin: <http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1539>
* Error checked the iPod using the Windows "Error-checking" utility (under Properties-->Tools) - no errors reported.
Further reference:
* "Convert higher bit rate songs to (rate) AAC" is not enabled on the iPod.
* There is still about 32GB free on the iPod after syncing all of my library except the new tracks
* Only antivirus software installed is Microsoft Security Essentials, which is up to date and reports no infections
What is going on?? Approximately 9600+ tracks that were added to iTunes before my recent difficulties (including tracks from many different sources) synced flawlessly when I performed the Restore. The only tracks creating the problem are tracks added very recently to iTunes.
Is it possible that my iTunes library is corrupt? Can I rebuild or repair it without losing anything? Should I follow the steps in this tech bulletin <http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1451>?

Okay, I have a partial understanding of the problem, and more importantly a workaround.
I think the Amazon MP3 Downloader was indeed the culprit. It is configured to automatically add your downloaded tracks to the iTunes library. I think the most recent version of this application has some kind of bug and did not add the tracks to the library properly.
It is kind of a subtle bug, because the tracks were added well enough to see them and play them in iTunes. However, I think the filepath that was added to the iTunes library was . . . messed up somehow? In iTunes, the paths for the offending tracks looked something like this:
F:/Music/AMAZON~1/BEEGEE~1/NUMBER~1/01-MAS~1.MP3
It is still strange to me is that rebuilding the library did not fix the problem, but regardless, I found a way to get sync working:
(1) Made sure "Keep iTunes Media folder organized" was enabled under Edit --> Preferences --> Advanced Preferences
(2) Used File --> Add Folder To Library . . . to add the folder where the Amazon MP3 Downloader put my downloads
This reorganized my Music file into the standard Artist/Album structure. However, the old, nonworking tracks were still in the library.
(3) Used File --> Display Duplicates, then sorted by "Album by Artist"
(4) Manually deleted all the nonworking duplicate entries. (You can tell which one is the problem--when you click on a problematic entry, an exclamation point in a grey circle will appear next to the track name)
After this, everything synced perfectly, including the remaining tracks I ripped from the CD. My file paths for the recent Amazon downloads now look like this:
F:\Music\Bee Gees\Number Ones\01 Massachusetts.mp3
Hope this helps someone else, and I hope the problem is fixed in a future software release from Amazon.

Help with systemd problems/reply to closed thread

@Everyone; as the previopus topic was closed, I am opening a new one here, partly to reply to some things that was said to me in the previous thread/topic (and I do not like to leave people hanging), but mainly to try and get some help with my systemd config (that I was not able to find help with in the wiki or manpages).
@czubek; eww, that sounds rather similiar to some other operating systems I've heard of (not just, but obviously including, windows)... For me, subjectively, that is not very attractive, as being able to have a single application do a single thing, and then mixing and matching as I personally see fit is a great thing.
@tomegun: I can indeed see your point, but if I made direct quotes on all the things I reply too, my posts would reach biblical proportions.
Mmm-hmm, I do indeed know of "the Arch Way"; however, the system that you expose can be of varying complexity as well, and I found that the system that was presented to me by way of Sysvinit/initscripts was a way simpler system than that presented to me by systemd.
Indeed, and I do like that; I enjoy knowing how my system works and learning more about it; however, the truth is that reading manpages and the wiki isn't always enough. And I use the numbers instead of letters in certain places as a jest, please, do not get offended by that; if you have to, get offended by my opinions.
Ah, I have now scanned the wiki, the manpages, and have already faced problems. While part of me is saddened by this fact (as I was hoping for a smooth transition to systemd), part of me is glad that I can at least prove that everything isn't quite as simple as some people would make it out to be. More on this later in this post, as I do need help with the problems I have faced.
And I wouldn't say that the new and old way are equally trivial, as I immediatley faced problems with "the new way". More on this later.

Oh my... Ignored as a matter of principle? I would say that that is an excellent way to stagnate; by that logic, moviemakers, gamemakers etcetera should ignore any and all criticism they recieve, as the critics are not contributing.... Wouldn't that lead to a complete halt in development? Isn't criticism (so long as it is constructive, obviously) a key component of (media/software) evolution?

@tomegun; I believe you to be wrong; complaining (but not whining) is the first step towards improvement, as I think that I and zb3 has shown.
Further, your last point (where you talk about "deep understanding of Y" and whatnot) is basically saying that only devs and programmers can contribute, so zb3's observation would be correct.
Also, making suggestions is part of constructive criticism; you can do that even if you can't code, e.g. by saying "X works badly because it makes Y crash; couldn't we replace X with something akin to Z?". This is a valid point even if you have no intricate understanding of X, Y or Z, and if it is impossible to replace X for one reason or the other, it's not hard to reply with "Replacing X is impossible because of reason Q", and then see if someone can solve reason Q etcetera.
zb3's example is obviously helping; for one, it would allow people to know taht they can't boot with systemd in certain cases, or that installing/runing systemd can break their system. I would consider that rather important information.
@Everyone; Now then, to see if I can (or rather, if I can get help to) shed some light on some problems I've been having.
My transition to systemd went pretty smooth (besides the fact that I couldn't use 'systemctl' to set anything, and neither duckduckgo nor any posts in the forums could help me (the error I continously got was "Failed to issue method call: Launch helper exited with unknown return code 1") and that there are no manpages/tips on how to configure the files for "localtime" and "adjtime", which would've been good considering some syntax have changed) to about halfway through, to the point where I was supposed to start using systemd for my daemons.
Now then, to the main problem; first, I tried running
"systemctl enable syslog-ng.service"
and got the following message;
"ln -s '/usr/lib/systemd/system/syslog-ng.service' '/etc/systemd/system/syslog.service'
ln -s '/usr/lib/systemd/system/syslog-ng.service' '/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/syslog-ng.service'"
Since it doesn't exclusively say that something went wrong (at least as far as I can understand), I pondered the message a bit, but moved on to try and start dbus by issuing
"systemctl enable dbus.service",
to which I got the reply
"The unit files have no [Install] section. They are not meant to be enabled using systemctl."
This I can only assume is an error message of some sort, especially seeing as it says "not meant to be enabled using systemctl", but the wiki rather explicitly states that that is what I am supposed to do.
I dare not move on (or attempt to start other daemons) without further advice, as I fear I might break my system. Any ideas as to how to solve this would be greatly appreciated.

Ah, I see; and well, I was told right here, going from the top, to "Enable Daemons formerly listed in rc.conf [...] For a translation of the daemons from /etc/rc.conf to systemd services, see: List of Daemons and Services.", and, using the list, dbus is mentioned there, as you can see. Since I started from the top, I did not know that you didn't need to enable that service. Perhaps it could be added to the descriptions of the relevant services in the Wiki which ones are autostarted?

Actually, what am I supposed to do with "hwclock"? the List of Daemons only says that I shouldn't run that in tandem with ntpd, but I'm not running ntpd, so... How do I get hwclock with systemd?

Tracking problem?

I am working with tracking problem. I am somewhat new to VC++. I have to take several data from the position sensor and read in the PLC and feed the data to the motor to run. That is fine.
But the problem arises when I receive the data from position sensor within a range between +5% of the standard value or -5% of the standard value. If the data value exceeds the range, I want an error message to pop-up.
How can develop this code in VC++?

You could use an if statement to check whether the data is outside of the range or not. When the data is outside the range, you can then call the message pop up box. I've included an example link below for you reference.

I want add F4 help in tracking number filed (i.e. BEDNR) at item overview.
Scenario -
While creating material Purchase requisition, I have to give the related Service PO number in tracking number filed.
Client requirement is, drop down list (like F4 functionality) should be there to selct PO number. No manual copy & paste option.
Can anybody tell me any user exit OR process how I can do this.

This can be achieved by adding a Search help to the Data element BEDNR
Go to SE11
Give data element as BEDNR
Find is there any Search help or not.
Example: Do the same thing for MATNR .. you will find some search help is associated.
Same way, ask your abaper to create one elementary help and associate to the BEDNR
Then automatically F4 will be available

Losing connection, support no help - said my problem

We are located in North Carolina using a server in California & we have a U-verse account For the past few weeks we've had steadily increasing problems with dropped connections which have ramped up during the past couple of days. We are essentially dead in the water as I write. Pings are showing repeated time outs. Tracers are showing repeated time outs. Sounds like a problem for AT&T support huh? Nope, I've been told repeatedly it's OUR problem. "Trace it, find the IP address were the halt is, find their phone number, call them & get it fixed". The 2nd rep told me AT&T is only responsible for the 1st 3 hops, any after that are my problem. What?!?! How can the customer be made responsible for fixing a network problem? So I'm left sitting here watching our pings drop, and our business go down the drain because "support" thinks I should fix my own problems. What now?

Thank you Chris, I had already done the whois & found all the IPs were in the AT&T family which was why I was so insistent they help with the problem. The bottleneck seems to be somewhere between NC and Atlanta, maybe Charlotte or even Columbia - who knows which way they run this thing. Their Net-Ranges seem to be registered with different cities - for instance 107.192.0.0-107.223.255.255 is registered with Richardson TX; 99.133.205.102 below is registered in Richardson TX although the hop is obviously between NC & Atlanta GA. It just seems to me it would be much, much simpler for AT&T to track this problem than it is for me/us to find it & try to explain to rep after rep what we are finding & convince them there actually is a problem. We had a tech come out & we knew up front he would know nothing about the internet service, but told he us who to contact that may be able to help (hey, we weren't getting anywhere with the support line) - a cellphone salesman. On contacting the sales rep we were told to call back to the support line & ask to put in a "Tier 2" support ticket. That got us no where. Told us it was our router, not AT&T, even though pings show time outs on their networks, not their problem, that we have a router issue. We have pinged google & two or three IP addresses at same time; google churns right along, as does yahoo, never times out while the server we really need loses connection over & over & over again. They said just because we were having time outs did not mean a problem with their connection, said it meant a problem with our router. Giving them the benefit of doubt, we took down the tunnel to test. Same old, same old - bottleneck seems to be at same IP address. We've had the server run a trace FROM California to us & they get the same error as we get going TO them. Yes it's an AT&T IP address. Until this afternoon the address bottlnecking was 12.83.102.137 which is coming up an AT&T network IP. This afternoon we starting getting these disconnects all along the tracer, but mostly before the Atlanta GA connect. However, as I said, AT&T is stating not their issue, ours, & not even willing to do any checking of the network to help. Sure our ladies can surf the internet & buy stuff on ebay & play on facebook if they were allowed to do so from the workplace, but to do the jobs they get paid to do, nope. U-verse has virtually shut down our billing office. Slowness we could deal with, shutting down our connection & not allowing us to reconnect is a whole different ballgame. One product company offen give some free goods to its customer company for test or probation. In pricing, the free goods have no income so that the value-added tax is zero, but by the law, the product company must pay the VAT(value-added tax) base on the cost of the free goods.
How to implement this in SD R/3 Scenario...

Hi,
You need to bring in a consition type "VPRS" in your pricing procedure. The VAT will be determined based on this condition type. VPRS is a statistical condition type. That means eventhough it appears with a value it will potentially not be displayed in your invoice. The invoice value will be 0 and there will be no account posting for this condition type

I don't know why it stopped working but it happened a month or two ago but the option on this phone that's usually all the way to the left when you select your device but now its not and I don't know what caused it. ive already tried troubleshooting my problem but have found no help.

Software ask for permission to install , and about 30 % in , my instinct was telling me , there is something not right . I stop installation . Delete everything , look for any
trace in Spotlight , Library . Nothing could be find .
Now , every time I open Safari , Firefox or Chrome , it will open in my home page , but when I start looking for something in steed of Google page , there is
''search.genieo.com'' page acting like a Google . I try again to get raid of this but I can not find solution .
With more research , again using genieo.com search eng. there is lots of articles and warnings . From that I learn do not use uninstall software , because doing this will install more things where it come from.
I do have AppleCare support but its to late to phone them , so maybe there some people with knowledge , how to get this of my computer

Genieo definitely doesn't help with your router. It's just adware, and has no benefit to you at all. They scammed you so that they could display their ads on your computer.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
When you try to copy data to the external drive, what happens? If you don't see any error, the external drive is formatted in NTFS, and OS X can't write in it.
To be able to write on this external drive, you have to use an app like Paragon NTFS. Another solution would be to format the external drive in FAT32 or exFAT with Disk Utility > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU1.html Make sure you copied all the files of the external disk to the internal disk before doing it

Yes that is correct.
Will I need to get a mac external hard drive if I wish to continue to save my documents like this?
If you no longer use a PC you could format this drive for the Mac. However be aware that formatting a drive will erase all the data on it. So you would need someplace to copy the data off this drive to while you did the re-format and then you could copy the data back.
You could get another drive, format it for the Mac and copy the data to it. Then re-format the original drive and use it as a backup drive. Always good to have backups.
Post back with the drive type and size of the current drive, if you are doing backups now and how and if you still need to access this drive from a PC.

Adobe encore the software that's used to decode the media is not available on this system. installing the correct decoders for the file you are working with may help correct the problem

I got this message after importing about ten or so H.264 files that I encoded from Adobe media encoder. "adobe encore the software that's used to decode the media is not available on this system. installing the correct decoders for the file you are working with may help correct the problem."
The files we're shot with HD cameras. Edited in Premiere Pro CS3. I installed the update 3.0.1 with still the same error.
I also tried a brand new project and after about ten or so files being imported into a timeline, the system crash. I tried this twice....

       Here is the skinny. A window base PC. footage shot with HD sony HD cameras, Project imported to Premiere CS3. Once completed sent file to Adobe media encoder and render them as H.264 widescreen high Quality. Imported them to Adobe Encore CS3. After about ten files or so. I got the error message. Did all the basic trouble shoot like restarting the computer, got latest patch. Even build a new test project with the same problem.
    Something else I read in the forums, is the encore will transcoded the project to Mpeg 2 anyway, after looking at my project I realized those few files were indeed untranscoded. So it will be a double compression and I dont want that. So, my new question is, what is H.264 good for ?????????? I was research that Mpeg 2 is a faster render but H.264 is a slower render but better quality.....

No longer able to use previous method for adding tracks and orginizing my library :(

I use to add a few mp3's to my library then sort the library by date added to see the just added tracks at the top [most recent] of that view, well that don't always work since itunes 11. Can anyone explain please? or even offer an alternate method? I know there is now a folder named "Automatically Add to iTunes" is it absolutely necessary that I use that folder? If it is that odd because not everyone is as gifted as I {NOT!} and they might not be able to locate the folder.

You can restore much of the look & feel of the previous version with these shortcuts:
CTRL+B to turn on the menu bar.
CTRL+S to turn on the sidebar (your device should be listed here as before).
CTRL+/ to turn on the status bar.
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour.
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store anduntick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may allow iTunes to start up quicker).
Use the Songs view and enable (if necessary) the Date Added column, then sort in descending order. Alternatively you could use the Recently Added smart playlist to view your imports.

[ETL]Could you please help with a problem accessing UML stereotype attributes ?

Hi all,
Could you please help with a problem accessing UML stereotype attributes and their values ?
Here is the description :
-I created a UML model with Papyrus tool and I applied MARTE profile to this UML model.
-Then, I applied <<PaStep>> stereotype to an AcceptEventAction ( which is one of the element that I created in this model ), and set the extOpDemand property of the stereotype to 2.7 with Papyrus.
-Now In the ETL file, I can find the stereotype property of extOpDemand as follows :
s.attribute.selectOne(a|a.name="extOpDemand") , where s is a variable of type Stereotype.
-However I can't access the value 2.7 of the extOpDemand attribute of the <<PaStep>> Stereotype. How do I do that ?

Thank you , a minimal example is provided now.
Version of the Epsilon that I am using is : ( Epsilon Core 1.2.0.201408251031 org.eclipse.epsilon.core.feature.feature.group Eclipse.org)
Instructions for reproducing the problem :
1-Run the uml2etl.etl transformation with the supplied launch configuration.
2-Open lqn.model.
There are two folders inside MinimalExample folder, the one which is called MinimalExample has 4 files, model.uml , lqn.model, uml2lqn.etl and MinimalExampleTransformation.launch.
The other folder which is LQN has four files. (.project),LQN.emf,LQN.ecore and untitled.model which is an example model conforming to the LQN metamodel to see how the model looks like.
