Help? Adobe Acrobat 11 Standard - just purchased for windows 7 now I can't open pdf files or attach?

Help!!!
I just puchased the latest Adobe Acrobat XI Standard.
I put in the Serial Key number but my computer tells me that a qualifying product could not be found on my computer so I can't use the adobe product. So now I can't open any files or attach pdf files onto emails without this message coming up. I've un-installed the "Adobe Acrobat XI Standard twice! with no luck.
I need it sorted ASAP as I'm trying to work! Any suggestions?

DotBellaParis if you are being asked for a qualifying product then it would appear you purchased an upgrade to Acrobat XI Standard. You should have the opportunity to enter the serial number for your previous purchase of Acrobat. If you did not intend to purchase an upgrade then I would recommend submitting a return request. You can find more details on submitting a return at Return, cancel, or exchange an Adobe order - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/return-cancel-or-change-order.html. Once you have returned the upgrade you can then purchase the full version which will not ask you for a qualifying product or serial number.

How can I open pdf files in safari browser without installing Adobe reader?

My mother has Adobe Reader XI installed on her laptop and still can't open PDF files. We've tried uninstalling and installing several different versions and nothing seems to work. Can someone please help? Thank you.

It's when she tries to open things that she gets online - like credit card statements, etc. It's also stuff that she gets emailed to her as a PDF attachment. It'll look like the document is going to open, but then she gets the following error message in a pop-up window:

The current updates 10.1.13 and 11.0.10 no longer support Windows XP SP3. The last versions to test were 10.1.10 and 11.0.3 I think. But I wouldn't recommend using those because of the Security Updates in between those versions and the current updates. Microsoft doesn't even support Windows XP SP3 any longer. I would say to try updating both the OS and the applications.

I have seen this issue fixed for some users by modifying the following registry key:
The key is "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management" MoveImages
Set the key to 1 instead of 0 then reboot the machine.
In case you still face the issue try the following registry key change:
The only thing you have to do is rename the following key at the REGEDIT, and everything will be fine !!
BEFORE:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.exe
AFTER:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.old
Note: Please take a backup of the registry before attempting this change.

If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, there should be a setting in its preferences such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected. Otherwise do as follows.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, move to the Trash any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others — I don't have a complete list.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

Do you want to try to reopen its window again? If you choose not to reopen windows, you may have to open and position the window yourself. There are 2 options: Don't Reopen or Reopen Either choice leads to a window that pops upend says please wait while we launch Acrobat and then window just closes quickly.

You may goto control panel and then go to program and features.
Select the Acrobat pro and chose the option change from the top. Fallow the onscreen instruction a windows will pop up where you need to choose repair.

Can't open PDF files from Windows Explorer on Windows 8.1

after I've upgraded to Windows 8.1, I can't open PDF files from Windows Explorer (directly double clicking the file). The AcroRd32.exe runs in the background (2x !) as I see the processes in task manager, but there is no user interface visible. I have Acrobat
Reader 11.0.06, the desktop version (not Metro). I tried uninstalling the Acrobat reader and installing it again but this didn't help. The only way to open PDF files is to close the AcroRd32.exe from the task manager, open empty Acrobat Reader from the desktop
and then drag&drop the PDF file over that window. This is quite inconvenient. Is there a way to fix this issue so I can open PDF files directly from windows explorer?

I have followed all your instructions on your website and uninstalled it and installed again, but I can't open pdf files with it. Adobe Reader opens PDFs.
To accept the license agreement (NOT the one you accepted to download or install - the one for USE)
Windows:
Go to: C/Program Files(x86)/Adobe/Reader 11.0/Reader and double click the eula.exe file. The license agreement will open for you to accept.
Mac:
Go to: Mac HD/Applications and double click the Reader app. The license agreement will open THE FIRST TIME you open it.

This may because the attachment is a winmail.dat file. I would recommend taking a look at the article below for more information. Note: the article is written for OS X mail, but does also apply to this situation.

What happens if you open Reader first then use File>Open like Bernd suggested?
Are you sure you are opening them in Reader and not a text editor or MS Word? I ask because Reader will not prompt you for a language.
