HELP: Adobe Flash keeps crashing

Could somone please help me.  I cannot play most of my games on Facebook because the "most wonderful" Adobe Flash keeps crashing on me.  I spend more time sending crash reports than I do playing the darn games.  Please keep in mind that I am not computer literate at all. I have checked and my Flash is up-to-date. I am using Windows 7...Thank you for anyone who can help....Desiree' (battgurl)Using Flash Player

First, I would make absolutely sure that you're up-to-date using Mozilla's [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ Plugin Check]. If that doesn't help, you should try asking for support at Adobe, because unfortunately this is probably an issue with Flash and not Firefox.

I don't know why Adobe flash started crashing, it doesn't last more then a few minutes once i start playing the game. It started today and have tried many different things to try to 'fix' it but I have found other friends that are experiencing the same problems and we are using different browsers so I don't think that is the problem. Please help!

  • My Adobe flash keeps crashing. Have tried all fixes.

My Adobe flash add on keeps crashing; I have done everything short of uninstalling Firefox. Please help.

Is this an "in plug-in" crash where you see a crash error inside a gray box in the page?
I know you said you have tried all fixes, but if you wouldn't mind ticking off the following just in case:
    (1) If you have any recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media make sure they are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them temporarily.
    (2) Disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin. See this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
    (3) Disable the Flash plugin's protected mode feature. This involves creating or editing a settings file. The following pages/posts provide different ways to do that:
    * Adobe support article under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]

Flash needs to completely unload from memory (restarting Firefox might help) before this would take effect.
    Any improvement?

  • Adobe Flash keeps crashing on ALL browsers on MAC

Adobe Flash has been killing me the past couple months. First I used google chrome and sometimes I would get an adobe flash crash, but as time went my adobe flash kept on crashing in which would slow down my computer to such a level I couldn't type anything on my computer for a solid 15 seconds to wait for my computer to respond, It was eating out my memory. I followed this by making sure there wasn't 2 flash players playing together in chrome, I looked up about:plugins on chrome to make sure. Everything was normal, and I still received crashes making my browsing experience terrible.
So I decide to use Firefox after hearing about how unstable chrome is, and I still receive the same flash player errors every time I use firefox.
    Help.

  • Fresh Firefox install, Adobe Flash keeps crashing.

My Firefox browser keeps having problems with the Adobe Flash plugin as it keeps crashing.
It is a clean FF install with only a few plugins like my password manager and ABP, i have not changed any settings, it did this from the start so there is nothing to go back to.
Some pages suggest disabling hardware acceleration but this to me is just not an option. If you, for example, fullscreen anyhing of a sub-optimal resolution it looks absolutely horrible as there is no smoothing of edges and such. I'd rather have an actual fix for this problem that is not such and awful compromise that should not be made in the first place.
I've switched from Chrome and that never gave me any headaches. But then chrome didn't insist on using flash for Youtube which has HTML5 support these days. Maybe that is a also something that needs looking into.

I have been able to convince youtube to use HTML5 instead of Adobe Crash, you can do that here: https://www.youtube.com/html5.
Have not yet found any limitations with doing this so this should solve the problem on Youtube at least. Ofcourse this is merely walking around the actual problem.

  • Adobe Flash Keeps Crashing! Tried common Solutions.

My Adobe Flash has been crashing on my computer for around about 2 months now. It crashes around about 2-3 times an hour and it constantly frustrates me. I have tried common solutions like reinstalls and disable hardeware acceleration. None of these have taken any effect on my crashes. I have researched how to fix and nothing is working. Please help me!
    My past 5 crashes:

edit prepended '''bp-''' the forum may then linkify the Crash IDs ~J99

Please have a go at posting crash IDs
Here is an example (but an old one)
    * bp-2cb08da8-80a8-450e-8ed7-2b9262120320
    *include the leading bp-
    * note expected format (I think)
    <br /> bp-hhhhhhhh-hhhh-hhhh-hhhhhhnnnnnn
<br /> the final numbers are actually a date code, and not expected to be letters.
They are obtained by navigating to about:crashes. If there is no bp- present on a list it is probably an unsubmitted entry.

  • Adobe Flash keeps crashing, sound doesn't work (speakers work fine) - done everything I can to fix, nothing works

Yesterday I noticed on grooveshark (a site where you can stream music), it wasn't loading. everytime I would try and load it, the plugin shockwave flash would crash - sometimes, the site would load, but when i'd stream a song, no sound would play. Youtube videos can't play as well - the page freezes up before the video can load anything. I've tried downloading shockwave flash on mozilla to see if it's just a problem for chrome, but it's my entire computer. Nothing involving sound/adobe flash is working properly. I've spent hours researching on how to fix it - delete caches, disable hardware acceleration, etc. Nothing seems to be working. does anyone have any tips on what I can do to fix this?

Thanks; it started working after I reboot twice anyways though (which is weird, but oh well I guess).  Hopefully it stays working this time (the funny thing is the sound never previously worked until I'd installed festival/done that muting and unmuting thing).  At least, it never played the startup sound for KDE (other sounds seemed to work, at a time anyways).
I hate when problems just fix themselves, cuz then if you ever have them again you don't know what to do.

  • Adobe Flash keeps crashing my MacBook Pro

    I've got the following setup:
1.83Ghz Intel Core Duo (Early 2006) MacBook Pro 15" (MacbookPro 1,1)
It's got 1GB RAM and an 80GB Hard Drive.
Fresh, clean install of OS X 10.6 (updated to 10.6.8 through Software Update).
Albeit having a malfunctioning keyboard (which I have disabled via Terminal) and a battery that needs to be replaced, I was having one very frustrating problem:
The d*mn thing kept shutting down unexpectedly. I don't mean a "PS I'm about to turn off, kay?" shut down but a full fledge cut the power, cut the cable, this girl is GONE kinda shut down. It was driving me NUTS! I dismantled, swapped out RAM, checked wires for melted insulation, re-installed OS X countless times...
    WHAT IS CAUSING THIS?!?!

No need to wait for an answer - I've already figured it out... I just wanted to make sure there was a definitive question, followed by an answer for anyone else who may be researching this type of issue in the future (as I have not found anything particularly helpful elsewhere)...
I started by running the CPU through a stress test, thinking that perhaps the laptop was overheating and forcing a shutdown. Terminal>"yes". Five minutes and no shut down.
Okay, maybe I will try the GPU...
Sadly, I couldn't get the AHT to load. Sooo... I turn to the internet. At first I'm spending hours looking for the Image file of the Hardware Test and trying to get it to boot from a USB drive to no avail. Finally, I Google something along the lines of "GPU stress test" and choose the first option - some sort of Adobe Flash applet that allows you to set parameters for an intensive GPU test. I click "Start" on the Adobe Flash content and BOOM - laptop shuts down.
Hmmm... I pop over to the "Chrome://plugins" menu.
    "Details"
    Adobe Flash
There are two instances of Adobe Flash. One of them being "pepperflash". DISABLE THAT SHIZ.
Pepperflash has been a hindrance since I was testing a CR-48 Chromebook. The vain of my existence. So many issues because of pepperflash. And now it's forcing my MacBook to shut down!!! Disabled that sucker, and sure as the world is flat: I don't get random shutdowns.
I might add, when I say "shut down" I may mean "restart"... I don't know if maybe I had "Restart automatically" selected at any point in time, which would have resulted in restarts during the course of my reinstallations.

  • Adobe Flash keeps crashing for me!

    Hello!
So this last week Firefox has been causing me to have some SERIOUS problems!
From time to time I cant view any kind of videos or anything, it just makes my Firefox crash and not loading or anything.
I cant even listen to my own music on my computer :(
I never had this problem before and getting this now is so annoying!
I got Firefox updated, same with Adobe flash player and all that! And as I said, I NEVER had this problem before and I've been using Firefox for alot of years now.

    Nope!
"Our Protected Mode implementation allows Flash Player to run as a low integrity process with several additional restrictions that prohibit the runtime from accessing sensitive resources."
That is from adobe's own blog, you can read more about it from this link:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/asset/2012/06/inside-flash-player-protected-mode-for-firefox.html
I went back and reinstalled the latest Flash and removed protected mode. No stalling at all whenever flash is present..especially on pages like gmail which would stutter or have mini freezes with flash 11.4 or 10.3 installed.
If you're really worried about protection, i recommend avast! or other anti-virus and internet protection software. Since you use Firefox, i recommend Ghostery. It doesn't let any website track you or collect information unless you specifically allow them to. http://www.ghostery.com/

  • Adobe flash keeps crashing and reloading and changing timeout per your instructions, does not fix the problem. What else can be done?

I recently upgraded Firefox and now I cannot use it if I want to watch something involving Adobe Flash because it crashes. I read your article and made sure I am up to date on all programs through Firefox check page. I reset the timeout on the adobe flash to -1 per your article. Your article states it may crash and just re-load it. I have done all your advice and it still will not run. I am now using Windows as my default browser because I don't have time right now to research this on my own and solve it. I don't know if you are aware that the fixes you suggested are not fixing the problem.

Try reinstalling the previous version of Flash - 10.1 r 102 and get rid of that 10.2 r152 version. ''I never updated Flash and I haven't had a problem with Firefox 4.0 on WinXP.''
