Help!! Adobe wants 600 bucks and I ain't got it!!

Question

When I got a new laptop with OS 10.6.4, I was very surprised to find out that I couldn't install my CS3 discs!! When I called Adobe and talked to the nice man from India, he told me that CS3 is not compatible and that I need to shell out six hundred smackers to upgrade to the latest CS... is it still CS5 or is there a CS6 now?
In any case, there is no way I can afford that!! I just spent $600 on CS3 in June of 2008!! I don't think it's right that I should be forced to spend another 600 just for the privilege of using their products!! It's totally unfair.
Now, the thing is, I am a website designer!! I am hopeless without my Dreamweaver and Photoshop to do my work.
And what really burns me up is I don't need CS5!! CS3 does everything I need and more!!
So please, does anyone know of any way I can load my CS3 discs onto my new mac laptop and make it work? Or does Adobe really expect me to pay 600 every year and a half???

Dear Bob, thank you for your reply. If people think I'm a "whiner" then I'm glad then 600 bucks to burn in case their motherboard dies and they need to get a new computer to replace the old one. It is called "venting" a very human and necessary function of releasing frustration in our impersonal overly digitized world. Frankly I don't care what they think, all I care about is getting my programs back without having to shell out cash. period.
And so that being said, I thought I was being clear but I guess not. Here's what happens when I put the 1st CS3 disc in my optical drive. The disc shows up on my computer with a bunch of files and folders but no download icon. The files/folders are as follows: Adobe Creative Suite folder, Acrobat 6 folder, Autoplay folder, Autoplay.exe, Autoplay.exe.manifest, Autorun.inf, howtoinstall.html and readmefirst.html.
how to install says the following:
To install Adobe Creative Suite in Mac OS:
1. Insert the Adobe Creative Suite CD labeled Installer 1 into your CD drive.
Note: If you are upgrading from a version of Adobe Photoshop that is earlier than version 5.5, call Adobe Customer Services for assistance.
2. Double-click the Install Adobe Creative Suite icon.
3. In the Authenticate dialog box, type the user name and password for an administrator account, and then click Continue.
Note: If you don't know the name and password for an administrator account, see the person who administers the computer.
4. In the Welcome dialog box, click Next.
5. From the Language pop-up menu, choose a language to display the License Agreement. Read the license agreement, and click Accept.
6. Type your name, your company name (optional), and the serial number for your copy of the software, and then click Next.
Note: The serial number is on the outside of the CD case.
7. Choose the type of installation you want:
Choose Easy Install to install all of the listed components.
Choose Custom Install to deselect components you don't want to install.
8. If you want to change the destination folder for the selected components, choose the location from the Install Location pop-up menu.
9. Click Install to begin the installation. When prompted, insert the CD labeled Installer 2.
10. When the Installation Complete and Registration screen appears, do one of the following:
Select a registration option, and click Register.
Select I Prefer Not To Register, and click Finish. Click Finish again.
But there is no "Install Adobe Creative Suite icon."  Only folders as I mentioned before. So I'm stuck on step #2.
When I click on the Adobe Creative Suite folder, there are more files and folders such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Adobe Version Que, several "dll" files and setup.exe. There's nothing there to install.
if you know of way to get around this problem and load CS 3 on my OS X version 10.6.4, please let me know.
