HELP!! AFTER EFFECTS WON'T INSTALL!
I recently bought the CS3 Production Premium Suite. I had the trial version of AE3, now when I try to install the Suite it says "Cannot install After Effects CS3 because it conflicts with After Effects CS3." The other After Effects is already uninstalled, anyone know why it is doing this or how to fix it?

Yes and no. Unfortunately ever since AE7 the installer creates an entire spiderweb of logfiles, references and shared components, so removing one will not necessarily fix the other. You could try removing any Registry keys that reference AE7 and delete all the Adobe shared components and the installer may be tricked into launching again, but be aware that this is experimental and at your own risk. You might have a hell of a time. In the grander scheme of things it would be simpler to completely nuke the system and reinstall Windows and all other programs from scratch. BTW, if you hadn't uninstalled so quickly, the problem probably could have been "fixed" by simply deleting the prefs...

Be sure that you are signed in and have activated the software—i.e., ensure that you are not running After Effects in free trial mode. The update will not work if you are running the application in trial mode. Sign in to Creative Cloud using any Adobe Creative Cloud application on your computer to activate all Adobe Creative Cloud applications on that computer.
Tip: If you’re not using a trial version, but you’re seeing the message that the update is not applicable, try one of these tips to force the application to be recognized as activated: Sign out of and then back in to Creative Cloud to refresh the activation state. Also, launching the After Effects render engine (not the full After Effects application) can refresh the activation; the render engine doesn’t have the crashing problem that the full unpatched application does. Finally, if neither of these works, uninstalling and then re-installing After Effects CC (12.0) can help. -
Hello,
I'm having problems installing after effects cs6 on osx mavericks. I installed it as part of the master suite bundle. Everything installed except AE. I've retried installing it by itself and still no luck. At first it gave me an error regarding missing language package or something to that effect. I followed some advice online and ran a clean up tool, that did not help. I also followed a thread which recommended I delete fonts from a folder in Library>App Support>Adobe>PDLF and that did not help either. Now after updating all the other programs in the suite, and trying to install AE again I receive an error that states that the product I'm trying to install does not appear to be an Adobe Genuine Software??? I'm at a total loss at this point....Warning: "Adobe Genuine Software Validation Failure..." | Windows

AFTER EFFECTS WON'T INSTALL UPGRADE!
I am getting REALLY sick of this. I have restarted my computer 10 times, I have read every forum there is about my problems, I've reinstalled After Effects as well as the whole Cloud several times and no matter what nothing works!

Are you using a free trial version of After Effects CC (12.0)?

Ok so I have a trial of AE cs4 but when i click setup.exe it just does't do any thing???? the setup.exe is running in my processes???? but no GUI comes up

The title honestly says it all. I recently purchased CC 2014 and have been updating and transferring plugins from prior versions of adobe after effects. When installing those plugins as I did in previous versions of after effects none of the plugins were recognized/loaded. I eventually found a solution to this issue by simply installing the plugins into the media core. They have all successfully loaded, but due to their presence in the media core premiere pro is now crashing upon start up. Does anyone know a work around for this?

Premiere Pro CC 2014 and After Effects CC 2014 are both updated to their most recent versionsFirst ... have you checked that these are all updated to work with the CC versions? I'd check with the makers of each plugin, the software has MANY differences.
Next ... if say you removed all but one, do any of them work? It might be worthwhile to remove them from the folder, then add one by one until you find one that is crashing things. That would at least get you part way forward.
And ... you might list which ones you have, in what versions. Folks around here might be able to help just seeing that.

After Effects CS4 not installing
If this isn't the place on the forum to post this please say so. Every thing was working until one day after effects started making my image sequences alot smaller than usual. I could find no help for this, so I restored my computer. After it got done restoring After Effects wasn't installed. I restored it to when it had been installed. This confused me so i tried to re-install it using the package that you download from the trials(I'm using the trial versions). It got to about 80% loaded(Not 80% installed, the installer was 80% open) it froze and wouldn't go any further. I had to use Ctrl Alt Delete to get it closed. I reinstalled the installer many times, but the same thing kept happening.Thanks for your help I can't figure out what's going on.
No, sorry, all wrong. First, let's get the obvious out of the way: You cannot extend the trial. With your incorrect attempts at "fixing" it, you have effectively ruined it completely. Even if you can revive it now, it will tell you that your trial period has expired and that is that, as they say. Only buying the full version will allow you to continue work. That aside, the only way to get it installed correctly once more would be to use the CS4 Clean Script from the support pages to wipe the installer database. This will make it look like there never even was an AE on the system, with the exception of the licensing system. When using it, you should also uninstall other Adobe software first. The script doesn't cover things like Adobe AIR, Acrobat.com etc., yet those can often be a cause for trouble during installs. Those tools have to be manually uninstalled to not get in the way. Well, anyway, as I said, this is most likely moot, regardless of your efforts...

All operate fine, except for After Effects and Audition. I can pass on Audition, but I disparately need After Effects. It will not load. I use a Mac Pro, at 3 GHz, with 3.5 Terabyes of RAM. I have downloaded After Effects four time and the trial vesion once. I have gone through three of you technicians — one of them suggest loading and trying the trial version. That doesn't work either.
Every time I try to load After Effects, it doesn not load and I get the same error.
Is there any way to load AE or will I have to drop the Cloud and buy a hard copy?

Help! After Effects will not install into my computer!
Hello, I have tried downloading and installing After effects CS6 countless times, through the download assistant and through the adobe application manager. It installs and all but before it finishes downloading into my computer it gives me an error. the error says this:

After Effects won't start Media Encoder
I'm trying to render from After Effects through Adobe Media Encoder, but the link will not work. I tried using Ctrl+Alt+M, and I tried opening it from the drop down menu. AE simply won't work with AME.
It worked before I upgraded to CC 2014, and I can still render out of AME through Premiere CC 2014.Larchuck on another thread suggested this and it helped me as well. He was using windows 8 and I, 7, but it worked
Get Properties on the AME .exe
Under Compatibily Tab I checked "Run this program in compatibily mode for:" and selected windows 8
Hit apply
AME opens.
I went back to the Compatibilty Tab and unchecked "Run this program in compatibily mode for:" and I also clicked the button above it (Run compatibility troubleshooter)...went through its process and AME is woking again.
Turning it off again didn't work for me though so I'm leaving it on -
After effects cs5.5 install problems
I am experiencing 'error(-1)' when installing a trial version of after effects cs5.5, any help?
The install does not start, it says it is calculating the time and then says I experienced errors and displays the above error message.
I am running on a mac, if that makes any difference

After effects cs6 trial install errors
Hello,
I am trying to install the trial version of After effects cs6. I installed the entire cs6 master suite and everything worked except after effects. I tried again from the master suite and then with a separate after effects only installer(all from adobe's site) always getting the same results
here is the error summary:
I am trying to install on a new macbook retina, I had installed the CC trial but it has run out. maybe I need to uninstall Creative cloud, but all the other programs installed with no problems so i am not sure why its just after effects.Thanks so much for your help, but i am encountering some issues with the log. In the link you posted I was directed to look for the log in library>logs>adobe>installers and that the file would consist of the product name/install date and end in .log.gz
However I can't find and file that meets this description or even an installers folder inside the adobe folder
^this is all that is in the adobe folder, and both these folders are empty.
There is another folder called adobe downloads which contains these files
which still don't really fit the description provided.
am i doing something wrong? or should i look somewhere else?

After Effects won't load my media.
Hi guys. My name is Andrew. I am kind of new film maker, (i still have a lot to learn). Anyway, i have recently working on a project in After Effects CS4. Basically i shot some scenes with two different cameras. My Camera is writing in a format with extension ".m2ts", and my friend's camera is writing in a format with extension ".mpg". Well i used to convert those files in ".avi" extension so i could work in After Effects, but i am losing a little bit of the quality of my media. So once i tried to import directly to After Effects. I was surprised because it actually worked, with no problems i was working with my project. One day my After Effects Crashed, and i reinstalled it. When i opened my project again, everything was good instead that i got a message telling me that After Effects couldn't open ".m2ts" and ".mpg" Files. Since then i don't know what to do. Any help is better than nothing

After I finished using the tool “Mylenium” gave me, I tried to import my “.m2ts” files, but they still had problems. Then I restarted my system and opened the Adobe Master Collection CS4 Installer, when the process for my system check finished the installer didn’t find that After Effects were still on my system. So the tool that “Mylenium” gave me removed after effects from registry. I simply installed After Effects, Photoshop, Premier Pro and Bridge from Custom installation, and it seems like the installer overwrite the after effects files. After the successful installation, I ran After Effects and tried to import again “.m2ts” file. And then it worked. Now I can import directly my files to after effects.
Thank you “Mylenium” for the tool and thank you “Dave LaRonde” for your advice, I will use it in the future.

Can't get After Effects CC to install.
Adobe Application Manager stalls once After Effects is downloaded and begins to install. Just hangs at "Installing..." and an empty progress bar. I just downloaded/installed Premiere Pro without problems. Please help. Thanks.
