Help and Adobe air

When I attempt to use Help (F1) I get a window from adobe air that tells me application is damaged re install or contact publisher. I reinstall Adobe air with no problems but still get the error. Any suggestions?

Kind Chef mobile app, used Starling and Adobe AIR

Hi everyone,
Recently we were busily working on an idea called "KindChef" which is a system that helps restaurants and we as customers.
We have started a campaign for it on Indiegogo site, which is a crowdfunding site backed by Google as some of you may have heard about it, so that we can find the ones who are interested in the idea and can back us and contribute to it to help us make it happen...

We have developed a MVP (Minimum viable product) mobile app for it, using Starling and Adobe AIR. But it's not the end product and is not so optimized yet. It's just a sample app to show how the system works, but yet so many other features will be added to it's release version as we have discussed on the campaign page.
We're also going to develop a control panel for restaurants too to manage their restaurant better. we're also going to develop a desktop app for them using Adobe AIR.
Honestly, there are two reasons why I am talking about it here:
1) the Web developer’s perks, which provides AS3 programmers with many useful designs and OOP code snippets that we have used while developing the project and can help you a lot on your projects.
Also we are giving away all of the Adobe AIR Native Extensions that have been used inside of the project.

Adding gameCenter functionality with actionscript3 and Adobe AIR

I am writing a game in actionscript3 and adobe AIR for the iphone4. Is there a way to connect to iphone's gameCenter in actionscript3, or is that not possible and I am forced to use xcode and objective-C?
If this is not possible, are there any alternatives to gameCenter that I can program with actionscript3 and AIR? For example openFeint??

Google TV and adobe air

Hi to all
I am developing adobe air applications in my company and one of our aims is to be able to run an adobe air application in Google TV. We already have a Google TV device (logitect revue) but we are unable to install adobe air or and adobe air application.
We have tried with the "captive runtime" feature in order to install our application in the device, but we get the following error:

You need to provide more information.
Do you install AIR 1.5.1 on your machine? How this has to do
with CS4?
What software do you use to generate the AIR file?

Flash Builder and Adobe AIR: anybody there?

Hi,
I've recently posted quite a few posts reporting very serious bugs of both Flash Builder 4.6 and Adobe AIR especially on mobile platforms, and asking about possible fixes and workarounds.
I would have expected immediate replies by someone at Adobe showing some interest in such blocker bugs that render Flash Builder completely useless, and developing AIR apps for mobile impossible. But there was no reply at all.
I wonder, are Flash Builder and Adobe AIR being maintained, or have they been abandoned? Because in the latter case I'd rather know it and stop wasting my time using this platform for development.

A few days ago, Gartner issued a document, called - as usual for Gartner - "magic quadrant", related to Mobile App Develpment 2012.
This document explains the situation of the different vendors so one can make an educated choice about the IDE to use for platform-independent mobile things.
Adobe is well-positioned in this quadrant. However, Gartner (who have talks with vendors before issueing their reports) only referred to PhoneGap when explaining how Adobe addresses mobile app development.
This is a shame, because FB is powerful and uses ActionScript (which many of us like).
I have bought FB last year and had fun with it. I don't think it's going to last for long, if I Adobe doesn't show that HTML5 + CSS aren't the only way to go.

How much system RAM do you have? I bet if you upgraded your RAM you would not have the performance issues with 9.

Does updating Flash Player and Adobe Air solve the Swf.Exploit.CVE_2014_0581 problem?

My ClamXav found the following attached to an app (JL Edwardian Advent Calendar) on my computer: Swf.Exploit.CVE_2014_0581. I have deleted and reinstalled the app, and I have updated the Flash Player and Adobe Air, but ClamXav continues to mark it as infected. Could this be a false positive? Is it safe to run this app after the updates?

Interestingly air 3.7 on IOS to Desktop air 3.7 will work.
I am investigating if I can use 3.7 on Android to connect to 3.7 on iOS - so far I cannot get the apk to install on my Galaxy S3, compile using 3.4 and all is good. Air runtime has been updated via Play store - and build uses compiled runtime.
I cannot get Flash player 11.4 to connect with air 3.7 on iOS either.
NetGroup.Neighbour.Connect never fires.
All SDKS above 3.4 upto 3.8 beta exhibit the same problem.
3.4 works perfectly and can connect to flash player, and other Air/iOS devices just fine.
Shuld not be a issue with firewalls etc, thay are all open.
I can email you the fla, it is for a product so I can't post it here.

CS5 and Adobe AIR issue wih Help file

Photoshop and other CS5 apps; Mac Pro OS 10.6.5 -- everything up to date. Trying to use Help, Adobe AIR says installation is damaged. It apparently means the Help file, as AIR updates and installs OK. Same configuration on my Macbook Pro and Help works there. I copied the Help file from the laptop but still get the message.
So I'm trying to re-install the Help file -- I found the download but when I run it, it says the installer file is damaged. Where do I find that to download?

Sorry for the trouble you are having, and thanks for letting us know. The steps below should get you up and running (and update you to the latest Community Help AIR app which has some new features and improved functionality.
Uninstall the previous version of Adobe Help by removing and trashing the application from the Applications > Adobe folder
Delete the following directory: /Users/username/Library/Preferences/chc.4875E02D9FB21EE389F73B8D1702B320485DF8CE.1
IMPORTANT: Empty the Trash or Recycling Band to ensure proper removal of all files
Manually update the application at: http://www.adobe.com/support/chc/

Adobe Cloud window and adobe air not showing up or starting even though it is installed, i have tried reinstalling/uninstalling

I downloaded muse cc 2014. It worked fine for a while (couple of bugs though). Yesterday it would crash whenever it was launched. So i tried to uninstall and re-install. No Luck. Then noticed adobe cloud/adobe air windows were not starting up as per usual on startup and i have been through pc to try to locate and start manually. No Luck with them either, so i have been trying re-download manually, i download the CC exe and try run it from c:drive but no response - not running.
i have tried a restore and that hasnt helped. I have uninstalled all muse versions but now cant re-download it!?
where to from here, urgent help would be appreciated. Thanks

Problems with BBC iPlayer Desktop and Adobe Air for Mac

I would be grateful for anyone who can help me with a problem I have on my Laptop running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3.I am having difficulty running BBC iPlayer Desktop and I suspect it is caused by Adobe Air.
Recently I was prompted to update Adobe Air to the latest version (as of February 2012) and after I successfully updated the program, this began to cause problems when I used BBC iPlayer desktop.
The first problem I noticed was that I was unable to play any downloaded programmes in full screen - only the sound played, not the video.
Secondly, a few weeks after this problem began, all my TV programmes mysteriously disappeared.
My final problem is that everytime I launch BBC iPlayer it is unable to download new programmes - when I am connected to the internet, the application still says it is "offline".
I have tried to resolve the problem by restarting my computer, uninstalling and reinstalling BBC iPlayer, disabling and re-enabling my firewall, connecting to the internet in different locations but this has not resolved the problem.
I tried to uninstall Adobe Air, but the installation package tells me it is 'corrupt'. So I tried to download and reinstall the application from the adobe website, but the computer already recognises that the app is installed. i.e. - I can't uninstall or reinstall Adobe Air.
I contacted BBC iPlayer support and they were unable to help - directing me to your website. I have read several other discussion topics posted on this website but not found the solution I am looking for.
Please can some help me to solve this problem, by helping me uninstall and reinstall Adobe Air for Mac?
I am not very technical minded - for example - I don't know what log files are or how to find them - so please explain it as simply as possible.

Just had the same thing happen AGAIN. Suddenly - a blank iPlayer Desktop which failed to download new programmes. All previous programmes were still in the repository folder. This time the sequence I outlined previously didn't work.
What eventually got things working this time was to reinstall Adobe Air as part of the BBC iPlayer Desktop installation process - and not separately.
So:
a) Move iPlayer to trash.
b) Find and delete the following folder: Users/Yourname/Library/Preferences/BBCiPlayerDesktop.61DB7A798358575D6A969CCD73DDBBD 723A6DA9D.1
c) Find and delete the following folder:
Users/Yourname/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AIR/ELS/BBCiPlayerDesktop.61DB7A798358575D6A969CCD73DDB BD723A6DA9D.1
d) Find and delete the following folder:
Users/Yourname/Movies/BBC iPlayer/repository/cache
e) Find and run: Applications/Utilities/Adobe AIR Uninstaller
f) Empty the Trash. I found that bits and pieces of BBC iPlayer were still running despite having been quit and dumped in the trash - and so it wouldn't allow me to complete this part. Restarted the computer, then empty the trash.
g) Find the folder: Users/Yourname/Movies/BBC iPlayer/repository and rename it repository2
h) Reinstall iPlayer. It will tell you that you have no programmes to view. Quit the programme.
i) Find and delete the folder: Users/Yourname/Movies/BBC iPlayer/repository
j) Find the folder: Users/Yourname/Movies/BBC iPlayer/repository2 and rename it to repository.
k) Relaunch iPlayer
It would be terribly nice if the BBC or Adobe stopped buggering about with this . . .

IOS sdk 5.0 and adobe air on windows

I'm currently building a apps with adobe air... and i do really like it. Not always easy dealing with native extension at first but now we are setup, we really like the possibility.
We have one big problem. Our apps need to send an email with a file.... now i found no possiblity without native extension so we just tought would be easy to use nativeExtension for a email... WRONG. We need to include the MessageUI framework ... (why the #$%#$ it's not alreary included in the core framework of air SDK!!! i ask you!) but we face a problem... we develop everything on PC..... i don't wanna have to change to mac only for the facti need to embed MessageUI framework in the nativeExtension and need IOS 5.0 SDK and mac to customize the build from ATD.. make no sense..
So... here the question... Is there anybody at ADOBE that can give me a timeline on when you guy think it would be possible to use custom framework on a pc ? we need MessageUI to send email.

i know to compile xcode we need a mac!! we build our own native extension already with a mac!!! the problem is the messageUI framework is not by default in the adobe air SDK 3.3 so we need to embed in the build of the apps ( not in the build of the xCode native extension) the messageUI framework and for that... we need a mac to add the IOS sdk in the ADT compiler... and that is the problem.. we have access to a mac to compile our native extension... but i don't want my project to have to compile on a mac....
As for the smtp emailer the problem is that we don't have access to the contact list .... neither the SMTP information of the iphone so this solution will not work...

Help removing Adobe Air

I made the mistake of trying to install the BBC Iplayer desktop from bbc iplayer website for those that know of it as something seem sto have gone wrong with the install and caused adobe air to act all mental on me and now each time i visit the bbc iplayer website i get the message
"this application requires a version of adobe air which cannot be found, please download the latest version from....."
I also get that message if i try to unistall adobe air.
I googled this and seen that its a big issue with adobe air, tried all the fixes, the comman prompt tip but nothing works
i got the following from my log

Tried unisntalling and re-isntalling when I got a "please re-isntall air"-kin-of-message when trsying to isntall air-files. Did you find any solutions to your problem that might help me?

Need help with adobe air!

Error message " ask for adobe air.: "a download error occurred. try to download again?"
this is when I'm trying to download someting. Right now I"m using the update feature and or vudu (cloud service) Adobe air will not let me download to my computer!

I tried to reinstall it and the same..

Does it happen with all downloads? Does the same error happen attempting to access the same download from a different computer? What version of AIR?

Silent installation and adobe air message

I have create a cs4 silnet package. The silent installation is running well only the adobe air message appears a view times during the installation and i have allways to klick to "ok"
