Help anyone with idvd or imoviehd

I have recorded a dvd of my family and tried to drag the image of the dvd into the program imovie hd and was given a message of importing files then filtering unusable files then nothing, and when i drag the disc image into idvd it reads your last action was not supported by idvd. I have toast 7, ffmpeg, divx doctor etc. but dont know what to do to get idvd or imovie hd to get it to recognize my home movie. the files are in a video ts folder reading .bup, .ifo, .vob. now toast will read some of the files but I am unsure which ones it leaves off 18 files and I dont know which ones HELP anyone

a video-dvd is end-of-the-road, meant for playback only, not for re-importing into any app or re-editing the content...
if you want any changes in your project, go back to iM where you created it..
same with iDVD: it expects "dv" coded files from an edit app as iMovie, not finished dvds....
in case, you have no access anymore to the original files/tapes/projects, there's a workaround, but you will realize a dramatic loss in pic quality:
get for 20$ the Apple mpeg2 plugin
and for free the tool Streamclip

Sorry to hear about the cracked display. One solution is to find different pictures or videos of each menu that can be found on the iPod mini and use that to determine how many clicks need to be heard before you have reached the right menu.
For example, I did a quick Google search for "iPod menus" and here is the first result that came up.

Help: Anyone with a TV Tuner?

Alright, I am having sone difficulties with my Hauppague WinTV card. I am pretty confident I had this working in XP with older nForce drivers...
Right now, when I launch my tv viewer, or do any video capturing from the card, my audio will mute itself after 30-45 seconds. I am guessing that this is either a Hauppague driver problem, a problem with the 1.13 nForce drivers, or a problem with XP SP1. I'm wondering if anyone here has had similar problems. I have already e-mailed haupauge about this, and I am waiting for their response.
When I use a WDM capture program, and can view the Crossbar, I can see the audio has been changed in there to Mute, but I can't figure out what's causing that to happen. I can set up a capture (with the crossbar audio selected to TV Tuner, walk away from the computer, come back, and when i play the video, only the first seconds have audio, and the crossbar audio has moved from my selection to Mute.
Anyone have some suggestions on how to fix this? I know there are some expert video capture people lurking around here, so i'm hoping you guys can help!

Ok, Im using an Happauge WinTv go card and using the the new drivers 1.13 with Win Xp (no SP1), WDM drivers and it works ok until I start teletext up then I lose sound I then have to restart the WinTv program to re-gain any sound.
the only time I got the problem as in the main thread was with the old drivers and WinMe, the only fix was to mute the mic input in Windows control panel and most of the time this fixed it but sometimes this would reset itself for some reason.
There is some problems with the WinTv2000 program in XP as you cant record TV programmes, the best bet is to use a program called Showshifter, this will let your card become one of these "Tivo" recorders and you can even use your fav video codec (Divx/mpeg4) to record too, apart from its crappy looks its a nice program.

Help please with iDVD

Okay, so I have an old G4 dinosaur and just recently completed my first iMovie project (okay, so it took me a while to have enough courage to experiment with the program...). I'd like to be able to bring it into iDVD and burn a DVD, but after much research and net-surfing,and after checking my System Profiler, it seems that I don't have the required factory-installed Superdrive to make this possible. Is there any solution? I've read mixed signals about getting an external DVD burner, so I don't want to invest in something that may or may not work. I also can't swing getting everything updated at this point. My interest in iMovie will be casual, but I'd love to be able to figure out how to get the 'movie' on a DVD. I don't care for the QuickTime view and was hoping that someone might be able to offer me some advice. Please!!???

Thanks for responding Sue. Yes, I've created a 'movie' in iMovie and I wanted to be able to view it on another computer in something other than the QuickTime 'frame.' That's what got me started on trying to open my silly iDVD2. It's so frustrating at having that software on my computer and not being able to access it. I'm assuming that Toast 7 (which seems to have gotten an enormous amount of negative feedback) is the software which would take the place of what iDVD does, right? That is, it reformats the iMovie 'movie' into DVD format and then I can burn it onto my own DVD (-after I get an external burner, right?) Sorry about so many questions ... I just want to figure this out, it's become a quest!!! Thanks again!

Did the new agp drivers help anyone with the problems with 9700PRO

just wondering if the new agp drivers from via fixed any issues with people with MSI and/or radeon 9700PRO
I used to experience crashes in games only when I overclock to 333FSB but none at 266FSB. I did get 600 more 3dmark2001SE points by using the new agp drivers. But I tried battlefield 1942 and my video locked up when I boarded an airplane in the wake island mission. I had never experienced a freeze with the old agp and am interested to know how others have made out.

Help, anyone with an iphone wont show their name when i text them.

So my boyfriend and my mom, since I updated my phone their number up top when i text them has a 1+ in front of it. It also says Add Contact at the top next to edit, so I clicked on it and it says Add New or Add to Existing. I chose Add to Existing and it still wont show their name. I even tried deleting the 1 + and deleting the number under the contact without the 1+ and it still wont work. What do I do??

HT1645 Hello, does anyone know of good DVD burning software for Mac? I've got two 8 min 25 sec mov files to put on a DVD with title and a menu for the two. I've tried it with iDVD five times, each time waiting over an hour and then getting an error mess

I have a short film I produced and I need to burn off copies however I am having no end of trouble with finding a simple DVD burning programme.
I tried a few but no luck. I am trying with mov files and I can't see where the cog is happening. If anyone has any good and relatively inexpensive solutions, please let me know!

Welcome to the forums.
If you'd like to continue trying with iDVD, one of Apple's resources shows HT 1645 to be an encoding error (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1645), so I would suggest starting a new iDVD project and set the iDVD Preferences to make sure they match to your project. In particular, you should be using the Pro encoding setting or Best Performance for projects with a total length under an hour (http://support.apple.com/kb/PH5417).
Roxio Toast is an excellent burning tool and part of my work flow after I've used iDVD to create a disk image. Toast will not have the nice iDVD menus, but can do many other tasks besides DVD creation. (Disk images can help in the DVD creation process -- here's one of many discussions: https://discussions.apple.com/message/15469221#15469221)

Have downloaded for example: Queen – Bohemium Rhapsody from a compilation album as well as a few complete Queen Album CDs into the iTunes library and then put them into playlists,
When I go onto my phone and select Queen on the MUSIC app using Songs tab at the bottom of the screen it will display all Queen songs and their resective Alum pics, that is all those not in a complilation album, .
If I know the song title I can select the songs tab and find the song that way,
I’ve tried fiddling with the settings in the iTunes app by going to ‘get info’ tab and trying to sort the problem out that way but am not having much luck.What I want the phone to do is show, for example all Queens songs including those in compilation albums. Can this be done, would be grateful for any ideas on how it can be done, that is if ic can be done, any ideas

Try assigning Queen as the Album Artist on the compilations in iTunes on your computer.

Mine does the same thing occasionally, is your phone jailbroken? Sometimes it will work if you delete the book and reinstall it or put your phone into airplane mode then turn it back off.

That means it can find the Hard Drive, or can't find the things needed for booting.
See if DU even sees it.
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

The figures you mention only make sense on your intranet. Are you still using the same wireless router. The verizon one is somewhat limited as far as max wireless-n performace. For one thing it only has a 2.4 radio. I like many people who wanted wireless-n performance before they even added a wireless-n gigabit router, have my own handling my wireless-n network.
