Help. Aperture keeps opening automatically when Mac starts!

Hey guys. I need some help. Aperture keep opening automatically as soon as my Mac boots up....nothing is plugged in, no camera, iphone or any other image device..... ( its not the auto-import feature)....cant figure out what it is and its really annoying! what can i do.....help!

I have this, and it is NOT on the login items list. I close it and it comes back a few min later. ***?

This folder is probably treated as a program to run at startup.
So you will have to look at the places where such programs are referenced.
For instance, you may have a shortcut to that folder in your Start Menu > Startup.
Or it may be in the Registry.
Click on Start > Execute, the type msconfig and click OK.
This will show you in the Startup tab all the programs launched at startup.

Go to System Preferences>Accounts and then select your account, then startup items, remove Word from the list and reboot, you should be fine then.

Acrobat 8.1 - Multiple files open automatically when i start Acrobat

When I click on my Acrobat icon 50 files automatically open up. This did not happen on Friday and now on Monday it does. What can I do to fix this problem?

The same thing is happening to me. I joined the forum just to post this.
It started on Acrobat Pro 8. I uninstalled 8 and installed 9 Pro. That seemed to fix the problem for a few days, but it's back now. Whenever I open one pdf via double click on the pdf or file --> open from the acrobat pro menu, it tries to launch every pdf on my computer until it hits 50 and quits. I see this problem is unresolved. Unfortunately, I don't have the answer. Hopefully someone out there does...

This causes the Mac to boot from the DVD drive. Hold the C key down between the startup tone and the logo.
(the shift key is not required).
Another way to do it is to hold down the Option key during boot and the bootmanager will show you all the possible boot devices and you can pick from there.

I have something really strange going on.
My iTunes keeps opening by itself and starts playing music. I cannot figure this out. I turned off the "Sync Via Wireless" on all my gadgets, but this continues to happen. This has woken me up in the middle of the night until I got so tired of it I just shut my Mac down.
Anybody hear of this? Know what to do?

I had the same problem - and as well as opening by itself iTunes was skipping from track to track like crazy. But then I found a post from a few years ago that fixed this.
Connect your iPhone to your iMac and uncheck the box that says 'Open iTunes when this iPhone is connected'. Problem solved!

Itunes opens automatically when surfing the web

I've noticed that recently itunes will open automatically when I surf the web. Granted that I was surfing the same adult website, but I think there is something going on here like a hijack.
My apple is a late 2009 unibody macbook running snow leopard (I own lion, but it *****....I want the old finder back)
the site is xnxx.com that I have this issue with. remember it's adult so please don't be a puritan if you're going to address this issue.

I'm not sure why that would be. It may be possible to trigger a download from the iTunes Store, which would result in a request from iTunes for your password before proceeding. If that's possible, I would consider that to be a minor security issue, but since everything you could potentially download from there has been screened by Apple, there wouldn't be any malware involved.
Still, if you're concerned about drive-by downloads (and note that this is not behavior that has been seen from any Mac malware to-date), you should make sure to update your system and should make sure Java is disabled in your browser. iPhoto for Mac (Yosemite) opens automatically when iPhone (iOS 8) is connected. I have "no application" chosen in iPhoto preferences and Image Capture has no preference options in the menu. I can find nothing in System Preferences OS X 10 or in Setting iOS 8. Where do I turn off the automatic iPhoto start?

This is most likely because it is asking you to choose photos to sync to your computer. I don't know how to get rid of it though. Hope you find the answer!

Check your login items in the Users & Groups preference pane. Remove any that you don't recognize.

Opening last opened sessions when its start, no thumbnails in the new tabs,

my firefox always opening all last opened sessions when its start,
no thumbnails in the new tabs, its really blank tab, there is no toogle to open thumbnails
i try to "restore to default" in option menu, its only fixed the "opening last opened sessions"
then i try to reset firefox and it solve the problems in a time
then i restart my computer, start firefox, and all the problems came back again
is there any solutions without reintalling my firefox?

You can check if you have a user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that sets the browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once pref to true.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
You can also check the settings for "Clear history when Firefox closes" in case this feature is enabled and if enabled then disable this as a test (i.e. remove the checkmark).

Make sure that the disk cache is enabled and working because the thumbnails on the about:newtab page are generated from the disk cache. You can check the on the about:cache page (there should be disk cache section).
