Help!! App updates requesting my iTunes log in information on girlfriends iPad

Hello,
My girlfriend tried to update some of  her apps but can't because for some reason its asking for my itunes, old email login details.
I Have my own iPad and I have never used hers.
Any ideas?
thanks

At this time, apps purchased for iPad or iPhone will not run on computers.
If you want, you can transfer the apps to your computer or download them again for backup purchases.
Apple does have a Mac App Store though, for apps that run on your Apple computer.

Two other things to try -
Power your iPad off for a minute and then back on again.
Double tap the Home button, locate the updating apps (one by one) in the bottom task bar, press on it until the red minus sign comes up and click it. Repeat for the remaining apps. Try the updates again but do them one by one rather than Update All.

  • ITunes 10.4 app update not working - iTunes downloads available app updates but without any effect - it doesn't update the apps in iTunes...

Since a few days I experience following issue when trying to download app updates for my iPhone or iPad
    - I click on get update or on 'Download all free updates'
    - iTunes successfully downloads the updates and seems to successfully process them
    - BUT the list of available apps to update does not change! And when checking the version of the apps that were to be updated, they are unchanged
    Any idea?

I had a similar problem. My iTunes didn't start automatically when I connected any of my devices after the upgrade to iTunes 10.4.1.
I found I had to add the iTunesHelper.app in System Preferences->Users & Groups under my account on the Login Items tab.
You have to navigate to it in finder, because I couldn't seem to do "Show Package Contents" on iTunes.app in the Applications folder from the file dialog you get when you hit '+'.
Once you have opened the package contents of the iTunes.app then the iTunesHelper.app is in Contents/MacOS. I just dragged and dropped into the Login Items window, then ticked it to start on login.
Note, this will only start it when you log in, to start it immediately just double click iTunesHelper.app in finder.

  • Help App update failing to install

For some reason my iPad 2 iOS 7.0.3 (11B511) is having problems with the latest update to the Twitter App, taking it to version 5.12.  Whatever I do the App running on iPad continues to operate Twitter version 5.11.1
The update to 5.12 does appear. I click to download, it appears to download but it fails to install.  There is no error message to give a clue to the cause of this problem.
iPad has 8GB of available space. This is what I have tried so far ... None of which have solved the problem.
    1.  Completely closing the Twitter App and the App Store. Deleting the Twitter App, re-booting iPad and then reinstall from the App Store App, which displays under Purchased Apps, Twitter v 5.12.  Despite this it installs v 5.11 then offers the update, which appears to go through the motions of downloading and installing, but when I check the App it is still operating v5.11 as the enhancements included in v 5.12 are not there.
    2.  Checking the App Store App updates Tab shows Twitter v5.12 with an option to Open. Once again this only opens v5.11
    3.  I have tried deleting my Twitter Account and repeating this process, all to no avail.
    4.  I have also tried deleting the Twitter App from iPad, which should remove all of its data in theory.  Then going to iTunes on my PC, and  downloading version 5.12. Then syncing iPad with iTunes and installing Twitter from there, but it still stubbornly insists on running the previous version.
This is very frustrating ... I also have an iPhone, running iOS 7.0.3 (11B511) Twitter version 5.12 has installed on that with no problems.  I particularly like the picture previews which this update to Twitter brings and would love to have this facility on iPad too.
Is there a fix to this problem with the failing update on iPad?  Help appreciated.

  • App update available from iTunes, but not from iOS ?

Found earlier today that one app had an update available on iTunes on my PC (Windows 7) ... while it wasn't available from the app store on my iPhone. The iOS app Store kept showing the old version of that app as the latest. Had to sync the iPhone with iTunes to transfer the update. How can that happen? ... and no my App Store app on iOS is not completely broken, as it keeps giving me updates for all other apps ... so far. Meaning that my Apple ID isn't a problem either.

On the iPod open the App Store app > Updates > Purchased then redownload. If nothoing shows make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID that the purchase was made with:
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID

  • How do I update the file where log in information is kept?

Log in information occasionally changes and I would like to know how to delete the old information and add the current info. The updated info doesn't support the Norton Toolbar which contained an easy to use program for this purpose which I was using. If there is a way to directly access the location that has this info, then I could make whatever changes are necessary.
    Thank you.

  • App updates not showing change logs in iTunes 12.0.1.26

As above, since the new update and then the update with Yosemite when i go into the app section and go to updates the showing updates now only show the basic info. It does not show what the new changes have been, minor i know but i do like to know what the changes are so i can wait for a future release before updating as some of the apps are huge downloads now.
    Thanx

I'm having a similar issue, but cannot see anything to do with airplay in the SysPref > Sound menu.  My mac is too old to run Yosemite, so looking to find another way to get this fixed.  Any ideas?

  • Why my iPad requires apple id for app updates coming from iTunes?

This also applies to my iPhone, but basically since the last time I changed my Apple ID password, everytime I use the sync-with-iTunes process to update app's that have been downloaded to iTunes first, the iPad and iPhone both ask for my Apple ID password. The Apple ID is correct, and I have checked all saved passwords in both devices are correct, but when I sync I still get asked for my Apple ID password which previously never happened, and so to my knowledge is not supposed to be happening.
    Any ideas?

This is also happening to apps being installed through "Automatic Downloads" which is on for both devices.

  • Frustrated with constant credit card update request from iTunes

Does anyone know why I'm constantly prompted to update my credit card info prior to almost every purchase on iTunes?  This is very frustrating and has led me to purchase my movies on Amazon and put off purchases of new apps.

You do not have to remove anything in order to use your balance.
It will use the balance first.

  • Refusing app update requests

My iMac shows first sign of being outdated!!   Meaning, when I went to update the latest iMovie version now after upgrading to Mavericks, I find that the update will not download because my movie card is "not sufficient" for the new update.  Okay, but how do I tell the app store that I don't want the update and to stop showing a red number one on my app icon, because I will not be updating that ap?

Hi Dahveed:  Thanks for the link.  I couldn't get this to work.  I control/clicked all over the update listing and including right on the update button, but couldn't get it to work.  I did however notice at the bottom of the iMovie update page a list of customers comments and they mentioned my problem but spoke of it as if it were an software problem, not a true lacking in the sufficiency of the "movie card."  Maybe they will fix this bug and I will indeed be able to update...though looking at the review so this iMovei update, I'm not sure I want to!

  • App updates say waiting and never finish Loading to my iPad

Hi. Trying to update my apps through the app store on my iPad. I clicked update all, the app icons show "waiting" and never finish. I tried synching to iTunes by hooking up to my computer, but made no difference.

    Maybe something here will help.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

  • An install request for a new helper app appeared, I entered my system password to download the app.  Since then safari will not open.  It just comes up with a safari quit unexpectedly report.  I have tried logging on as a Guest but it does the same.

I have a MacBook Pro with OS X Yosemit.  MY safari will not open, it only comes up with a safari quit unexpectedly report.  A new helper app appeared requesting my system password to download the helper.  Stupidly I input the password, when I log off I can see the download icon for a split second still running asking to abort or continue.  How do I sort this?
    cheers

Genieo Adware is installed.  Removing it will help.
If you have another browser installed, use it.
If not, launch App store and get another  browser for temporary use.
    Remove it afterwards.
    1. Use  free  AdwareMedic by clicking “Download ” from here

  • Cellular Data for iTunes Match but not for app updates

In iOS7 we can now have App updates downloaded automatically. Great. But if I want to use cellular data to stream songs from my iTunes Match library in iCloud when I'm on the road, but don't want to waste cellular data on App updates how can I do this?  It appears that enabling cellular data for iTunes Match also requires using cellular data for any of the four auto download features as well in Settings>iTunes & App Store. Am I seeing this correctly and is there a way to fix this?  I don't want to use cellular data for app updates, just for iTunes Match streaming.  Any help would be great.

This looks like the same problem I've come across. From what I have been told, they are not separate, ie if you enable use cellular data to stream songs from iTunes Match you also have to download updated apps if you have it set to automatically download them.
I think this should definitely be separated.
The other thing you could do it go to another streaming music provider and then turn cellular downloads off. That's what I'm looking at doing.
