Help! Arbitrary text boxes set as English UK

Hi there!
So I have a book file with 23 files, and I just started to go through them all and start spell checking them. All of the sudden, it highlights "color," and tells me it should be spelled with a u. Yeah, not happening! I notice that the text box is set as English UK. I then notice that arbitrary boxes are set that way. We've been working with InCopy as well, so I'm guessing the editor might have set his language wrong (or it was set wrong from the beginning and he didn't fix it). Is there a way to change all the text boxes in a document to English USA? I tried the whole command+A thing, but no such luck. It's driving me insane. I know how to fix them one at a time, but I'm really hoping there's a shortcut!

You can just do a find and replace with no type to cure it.

Please help with text boxes

Can somebody help me wit hmy problem. I have a fom with many tables in it, some cells of the table are text boxes or at least they were when I developed it. Now I need to edit some of the cells and for some reason I cannot do it as the cell is not a text box but became (untitled<draw>) I cannot change its type back to text. Can some one advise what to do whitouh retyping text again in the new cell.

I have a preference for Javascript (just get in the syntax zone) and use it for most things (except dates).
As you know:
this = current object
rawValue = accesses the value of object
From an Excel point of view FormCalc is similar and has inbuilt function like sum(), Max(), etc. Syntax is $ for current object and you don't need the rawValue. This is very handy when summing a column in a repeating table. Also FormCalc is excellent for working with time and dates. (not that you can't work around in Javascript, but it is heavier).
Adobe have a very good reference for FormCalc at http://www.adobe.com/go/learn_lc_formCalc_82 and I would recommend that to you. I think it comes from the LC help file, but is easier to use.
From a performance point of view, you can either have FormCalc in the calculate event of an object, which looks back at other fields (this will fire each time one of these fields changes). Alternatively you can have the FormCalc in the exit event of a field, which pushes a calculation/value forward to another object.
Functions are handy if you have a script that you are using several times in a form. You write the script in a "script variable" and then call it in the objects events. HOWEVER, script variables are available in Javascript only.
One last thing is that if you have a constant (like VAT), then rather than including "* 0.21" in all of your calculations, use a global variable in the Form / Properties / Variables tab. currentVat = 0.21. Then in your calculations would be "* currentVat.value". If the VAT rate changes then you only have to change it in one location.
In summary FormCalc is more akin to Excel; just watch the syntax.

Help with text box rasterization in adobe muse

When ever I create a text box, add some text , highlight the text and try and create it into a hyperlink, it says that the text requires rasterization and that the hyperlink will not work.
How do I 'rasterize' the text box which will allow me to convert the text within, into a hyperlink?

For some reason in the new MUSE it wont let me add an email address for example:

i am passing 4 valus in data element values tab, it is passing correctly to the text box, if i am making the text box to ouput only then the values and button for pop up is not comming, what do i need to do if i need values for output only.

Need help threading text boxes

Is there a way to make the text boxes that are threaded together auto number. If I put 600 in the first box, I want 601 to appear in the second box and so on.

It's not clear if your thumbnails are each threaded to their full-size text frames, or if each page-number text frame on the thumbnail page is threaded to the next one.
* If each thumbnail text frame on the thumbnail page is linked to the full-sized page elsewhere in the document, you can use the "next page number" marker.
* If the thumbnail text frames are not threaded to their corresponding full-sized page, you can create a cross-reference from each thumbnail text frame to a text frame on the corresponding full-sized page, using a cross-reference format that only captures and displays the page number.
* If your thumbnail page is intended to be a Table of Contents, you could generate a TOC that captures a paragraph style that's on each full-sized document page and adjust the TOC entries and non-threaded thumbnails to align suitably on the TOC page.
Search Google for terms like "InDesign table of contents," "InDesign cross-references," and "InDesign next page number marker," without quotes for details.

PLEASE HELP anchored text boxes corrupted CS5

I have a book I've been working on for some time that is close to final. It has anchored text boxes in the sidebar that flow with the text and is being edited in an IC assignment environment. I made semi-final edits to it yesterday and exported a PDF, but when I started scrolling through the pages, I noticed that whole pages of the content were blank. The stories were still flowing as if there was text on the blank pages, but there were no text boxes to select and it was intermitten through the whole document. Thinking the layout file was corrupt, I exported to IDML and opened that. It recovered almost identical to the other file and now all the anchored text boxes are completely locked. I can no longer select them to edit the text or move them. I tried unlinking the IC stories, still locked. I tried going back to a version of the ID file from before I made the edits--figuring the edits would be preserved in the stories and I could just reedit the layout, but while I've managed to recover the pages of content that had gone blank, my anchored text boxes are still completely locked. Does anyone have any suggestions. This book was nearly final and I have a hard deadline.

I do have ID CS5.5 on another computer. Do you think it would be worth trying to convert the file to the newer version and then back to CS5?

OK, I've completely severed all connection to IC. Anchored boxes are still locked. I exported the whole thing to IDML again and opened that. Anchored boxes are still locked. I copied the text out of the story into a new blank document and the anchored text boxes are still locked. They show little locks on the frames. Is there a way to lock anchored text boxes without locking the story? If there is, maybe there's a way to unlock them? I'm just wondering if some option I don't know about was accidentally applied.

Set an instance name for the dynamic textfield. Then, to
populate the textfield with the value of a variable, use:

Outputting check box input to text box

I have another javascript question regarding Acrobat.
I have an order form with 3 categories of check box sets.

Each checkbox outputs the SKU of an item which in this case is insignificant.
Here are the scenarios available to the user.
Option 1 - One option from Set 1 AND one option from Set 2 must be selected. (Which i have working just fine)
OR
Option 2 - One option from Set 3 must be selected.
These are the only possible options.
I have a text box set to read only as the total box. It totals up the cost based on the options they select.
If they select option 1 it needs to output $285 to the total box
If they select option 2 it needs to output $475 to the total box.
My theory is that I need to make an if then statement but I don't understand how to write the code for this to work.

Printing a movie clip with dynamic text boxes

I've got a certificate inside a movie clip, and i want the
dynamic text box to dispay the user name, but for some reason it is
coming up undefined, even though i have the dynamic text box set to
finalname = _root.inputname, but it comes up as undefined on the
screen. :( Can anyone tell me where i am going wrong?
Is there a way to print just a specific movie clip on the
screen? I can only print all the frames in the movie and without
the dynamic text box... any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Inserting a Text Box? - Applescript

Thanks for helping me out earlier. Now I want to insert a text box at the bottom of the page 4.5 inches wide and .5 inches tall, how do I script that in?
This is all needed as part of a workflow I am doing with automator, and once I can solve that, then I am DONE!

Embedding Images in a scrolling text box

I used the Flash help files to get the dynamic text box set
up for scrolling via the Property Inspector. I have Multiline
wrapping text and the HTML buttons active. The help files don't
tell you where to put the <img src> tag to reference the
images I need to embed in the text box. I'm not an ActionScripting
expert, though I can do the basics--help!

The actionscripting panel says I can't apply actionscript to
the text field. Does it attach to the keyframe the text field is
located in?
If I am supposed to put the actionscript in the keyframe the
scrolling text field is located in, how can I set the width and
height of the image, and tell Flash where the image should be
placed in the text field?
Finally, I need to have a row of three images, same height,
different widths, with a line of text above and another line of
text below. How would I do this?

How can I upgrade from Tiger to Snow Leopard wihout violating EULA while Mac Box Set is no longer available?

I use my original Tiger bought with MacBook Pro. But now so many applications do not support Tiger, so I decided to upgrade to SL.
But required by Apple way to do this with Mac Box Set seems to be impossible. Mac Box Set is no longer available from Apple.
Is upgrading using Snow Leopard disc, which is still in Apple Store, ok?
I will be gratefull for help.

The Mac Box Set includes Mac OS X Snow Leopard, iLife ’09 and iWork ’09. If you just use the SL installer, you don't get the additional apps.

Urgent Help reg setting the maxlength of a text box

I want to set the max length or the no of characters to be entered of a textbox in parent page from a child popup window.
Even if i use the opener property the maxlength is not set. Is there any other way to set the property. I'm not refreshing the parent page when coming back from child page. I tried to set the value of the text box from child and it's working fine. But the maxlength is not working.. Is there any way to do this.. Pls help me to solve this problem.

this is really a js question and im not sure that you can access the formElem.maxlen property unless you get into DOM coding
