  • Creative Audigy Platinum Installation Help with Pentium 4 3.2GHz HT Enab

    :mansad:
Dear Fellows,I have recently upgraded to a new Pentium 4 machine. The config is as follows:Pentium 4 3.2eGHz MB cache HT (Hyper-Threading Enabled)Intel Original 865GBF MainboardGB Kingston DDR 400MHz RAM20GB SATA WD HDDSound Blaster Audigy PlatinumATI RADEON 8500 DV 64MBThe problem I am facing is with Audigy Platinum. Once I install the operating system (Win XP) and move to the installation of Creative Audigy Platinum Sound card. All the applications are installed and the system hangs while updating *drivers*. I restarted but it corrupts the whole operating system conflicting with Display Driver, Mainboard driver as well as Windows. CD/DVD Rom also disappear. I then reinstalled operating system again. I would like to request for help and solving this issue and I dont want to get rid of Creative Audigy. I have heard complaints with Hyper-threading technology but I disabled it and the same problem occured. I tried everything e.g. latest drivers from Creative website, BIOS updates, Driver updates etc etc. The problem starts once the drivers are to be updated for Creative Audigy Platinum.Anticipating your response soon.Regards,

    Hi Jeremy,
I would like to thank you for your kind assistance with my problem.
Heres the good news, I finally managed to install and run my Creative Audigy Platinum perfectly.
Credit goes to your assitance and support.
For your info, I would like you to know what I really did.
I have an Intel Genuine 865GBF mainboard. I installed clean copy of Windows XP (SP) and downloaded and installed latest Chipset INF utility from Intel website. I guess this utility tells the mainboard what kind of hardware is configured on the board.
Please note that I did not add any PCI card except the AGP graphics card.
After finishing Windows XP, I installed the Creative Audigy Card in a different PCI slot. When windows started, it detected the sound card installed.
I simply ran the driver and programs from the Creative CD and it installed perfectly. I then updated the drivers downloaded from the Sound Blaster site in correct order.
After finishing with Creative Audigy Platinum installation. I installed other hardware devices, service packs, AV and applications.
Its the third day and everything is running well.
I just wrote the steps if someone else faces the same problem, he/she can sort it out the same way.
    Thanks again for your help.
    Best regards,

  • HELP! Cant get my Audigy Platinum to re-inst

I'm trying to reinstall my SB Audigy Platinum on a new computer. Actually, I get sound out of the card just fine - but I'm trying to install the programs from the original SB installation disk and when I do, it seems to partially install, but not completely. When I restart the computer, I get a window saying that its completing the sound card installation - but nothing happens from there. Oh, it also, at this point, is asking for my printer installation disk??
The computer shop may have installed some other SB software - maybe its in conflict? ... . I'm stumped.. maybe my original SB disk is bad.. ?
    Help?

Could it be that I am on a Mac and on a PC you can access these panels without opening a page?
No, the differences between the Mac and PC versions of Dreamweaver are infinitessimal. There were quite a lot of differences several versions ago, but the CS3 versions are almost identical on both platforms. CS4 brings them even closer.
Following tutorials in a book is a good way to learn (at least, I hope it is - I write books about Dreamweaver myself). However, books can take you only so far. You need to start experimenting yourself. I wonder what will happen if I do that? Ooh, that's interesting! Eugh, I'll remember not to do that again...
That's how I learned about Dreamweaver - experimentation. Try it. It's fun, although a bit scary at times.

  • Help: SB Audigy Platinum EX box drive

I can't seem to get the external box on my Sound Blaster Audigy EX to work. I don't have the CD for it. Does it need extra drivers? If so, cand I download them from somewhere? I got the audigy drivers, and the card itself is putting out sound just fine.
I DO have a CD for the Audigy 2ZS, if that helps in anyway...

    Hi there,
I'm sure you can get all the drivers you need from creatives site. however, just to be sure it's functioning check the connections inside your case. Check that all the cables inside the case that connect the two cards together are properly connected. I was messed up by this twice, and I'm resonably tech savvy.
you should also check to see if there is a red light comming out of the optical out on the front of the audigy (dont stare straight at it!) .. if the light is there when your pc is in windows. then it's most likely that it is connected correctly. if it's not, the box is not powered and will not be detected.
i believe this is the link to the drivers you need.

  • Dear Jeremy-CL ! Please help me with SB1394 Audigy Platinum ex issue

I have an Audigy Platinum Ex for 4 years and very satisfied . But now i had to install Windows XP SP2 .My firewire sb394 began malfunction with Premier Pro ,5 . Under Windows XP SP everything goes well . With rear motherboard FireWire connector everything works well , but not so comfort like using external Dri've . How can I resolve this problem ? And is it possible to connect internal sb394 cable from Audigy Platinum ex Dri've , to motherboard ASUS P4P800E deluxe internal connector ? It seems to me that they are similar . Best regards from Russia / thank you ! Alexander

You can try this if you have nerves to do it:
. Get Windows XP SP install CD
    2. Find following files and uncompress them if necessary
    - 394bus.sys (5..2600.06 xpsp.020828-920)
    - arp394.sys (5..2600.06 xpsp.020828-920)
    - enum394.sys (5..2600.0)
    - nic394.sys (5..2600.06 xpsp.020828-920)
    - ohci394.sys (5..2600.06 xpsp.020828-920)
    - 394.inf (5..2535.0)
    3. Open command prompt, type sfc /purgecache and press enter key
    4. Copy file 394.inf to C:\WINDOWS\INF overwriting existing file
    5. Copy files with names ending in .sys to C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache
    6. Copy all .sys files to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers overwriting existing files
    7. If windows asks for CD cancel it to prevent it to restore files
    8. Double check if the files you copied are still there and if not repeat from step 3 until you get it right
    9. Uninstall firewire adapter from device manager
    0. Reboot and pray
Basically that should force your XP SP2 to use Firewire drivers from XP SP. It may not work (I haven't tried it) and it may trash your machine leading to reinstallation but it may also fix things for you. Let me know if it worked.

  • No digital sound after Vista upgrade on Audigy Platinum

I finally got around to upgrading my Media Center PC from Win XP to Win Vista Ultimate x64. Following the upgrade and after installing the latest official drivers for my Audigy Platinum, I am unable to get any sound when using the digital out on the sound card. I also made sure to change the Audio Console setting to use SPDIF. If I switch to normal line out, it works fine and digital out worked fine on Win XP.
I tried searching but only came up with threads pertaining to the X-Fi and Audigy 2.
Is there something else Im missing to get this working in Vista?
    Thanks a bunch!!

    Hi there-
I just finally had the chance to install these drivers and I still have no sound coming out when I connect to the digital out of my Audigy card. Again, Ive verified the Audio console has been changed to SPDIF output and still nothing.
Is there something Im missing here? Are there other settings I need to change / set in Vista to get this working? This is very frustrating that this worked without issue in XP and I really dont want to have to go back to it.
    Any help is much appreciated!!

  • Audigy Platinum Ex Line In Quest

I recently re-installed my Soundblaster Audigy Platinum Ex card on a new hard dri've - it's worked properly in the past. I have run the installation cd and gone to the Soundblaster website for all the latest drivers. On my external module I am unable to get audio to input through the line-ins to (Aux in 2, Mic/Aux 2, and 394). No monitor, no capture (though the headphone jack works properly, and the standard soundcard works properly). I've checked my connections. I'm very experienced with audio software and have been unable to figure this out.
The one thing that might fix this that I am unable to find - is there a control panel setting somewhere that verifys that input should be coming through the ex Module? Any advice would be greatly appreciated....

Hi there " bucktoothmummy". I just recieved this same problem today. Tryed to solve it via software updates and messing with IRQ stuff. None of that helped. I desperately tryed every line-in port there is and suddenly I heard loud static coming from the speakers.
What I found out was that the cable (the wide one) on the backpanel has been someway corrupted, and needed only a few twitches (pull it up and down). So the problem in my case was purely the low quality of the jack OR the cable. The ports them selves are just fine.
Email me if you wish to ask some more, hope this helps

  • No longer able to select speaker type in Surround Mixer (Audigy Platinum Win XP P

Hi, all. I have an Audigy Platinum. Normally I have no issues using my 5. speakers with this card; however, today I noticed my sound was "tinny" and the reason is that the surround mixer is locked on Headphones. I cannot click the arrow to change it to 5. surround or anything else for that matter. I've gone into Control Panel and unchecked the mute other speakers when headphones are plugged in option, but that hasn't seemed to help. Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. That did the trick.

  • Problems with Audigy Platinum and Firew

    Hi,
I've been running my Soundblaster Audigy Platinum on my Win2k-System for some years and have just encountered some weird problems with the Firewire-Connector. When I connect an external DVD-Burner everything works fine. But when I connected an external harddisc for the first time recently, the system completely flipped and rebootet without any messages. When I connected the dri've via USB it wasn't recognized automatically (what it should have after the manual) but after installing the Drivers on the Disc. Afterwards also the Firewire-connect was possible, the dri've was recognized and appeared in the Explorer. So far so good.
But now, everytime I try to copy files larger than some Megabyte the dri've stops copying and I get an error message. Then the dri've disappears in the explorer. When I connect the dri've to my Laptop (XP Pro System) everything works fine. I already tried to google the problem and found some users with the same problem, unfortunately no answers to their posts. Is there someone who can help me (us)?
By the way, I already tried to re-install the drivers for the audigy...

hi kakarocht, tks for help me.
My mobo is new, i buy all the config recently.
i'm searching in the forum, and found this topic https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=85631.0
my HD SATA is the same of this, i will try to remove it, and then tell here for you.
    sorry for my english again.

  • Audigy Platinum On Vi

Im trying to get an audigy one platinum working with windows vista. I got the vista drivers from the creative website and installed. No problem.
However i noticed the 'breakout box' in my dri'vebay wasnt working. So i checked device manager and I've got:
soundblaster audigy - pci bus 2 device function 0 - everything ok
unknown device - pci bus 2 device function - driver not installed
when i tell vista to search for the driver for the 'unknown device' i get the error 'creative game port - an error occured during the installation of this device. the driver installation file for this device is missing a neccesary entry. This maybe because the INF was written for windows 95 or later Contact your hardware vendor.
Anyone got any help on this or where I can find a suitable dri've / inf file for the dri'vebay i/o ports?
    thanks

ok then i'll rephrase the question,
has anyone got the soundblaster audigy platinum dri'vebay i/o ports working in vista 32bit's..if so how did you do it, where did you get the driver from?

  • Replacement for Inspire 5700 + Creative Audigy Platinum

    Hi,
for many years I have been using a combination of a Creative Audigy Platinum soundcard with a Creative Inspire 5.1 Digital 5700 speaker system. I am very pleased with the quality, compatibility and easy-to-useness of this system. For games and music, I let the soundcard do the decoding and send the bits via digital connection to the Inspire system, which I set to 5.1 DIN. For DVDs, I send everything via SPDIF and let the Inspire do the decoding, either DTS or Dolby digital. Works just perfectly.
Only problem: if everything works according to the plan, I will move from Europe to the States in two months and stay there for - 3 years. Because desktop computers and probably also my Inspire 5700 system are quite tricky to ship, I decided to buy a laptop here and buy another speaker system by creative after I have a arrived in the states. Full of anticipation I checked this site to choose my future system and ... was struck by shock:
I couldn't find any system which offered the same features as the Digital 5700! All modern systems lack digital input, leave alone an external decoder and have primitive wire-remotes instead of real remotes! Why has this kind of great system disappeared? Of course you cannot buy the good old 5700 anymore, which leaves me with a great problem of how to organize a system which offers similar quality and features.
I originally planned to connect my laptop (ASUS A8JS) via S/PDIF to the new inspire 5.1 speaker set, which would then do the job of decoding digital audiostreams coming from DVDs. But well, since the new Inspire sets neither support S/PDIF nor offer external decoding, that idea has been flushed down the toilet
What do you recommend instead? I guess I will need a USB Sound Blaster in combo with an inspire speaker set. What will provide the same quality to what I had? What are the drawbacks of not having digital connections any more? How can I control sound levels of the subwoofer, center and rearspeakers, if there is no external decoder anymore? Only via software?
Thank you very much for any advice!
    - spitfire

Thank you very much for your helpful replies! Future looks much brighter now
Where have you found the Audigy 2 NX? On their webpage, creative only list the USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor or the Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit External as USB-solutions. Since I don't need the video editing capability, the Audigy 2 ZS would probably be quite an overkill. Still, the price difference between Audigy ($250) and Life! ($50) is ... drastic! Besides the video stuff and some connections, what else is the Life! solution missing? Does it have poor quality? Is there no real 3D sound, just some kind of upmixing? It's not very clear from the specifications.
The Logitech Z-5500 Digital looks very promising, too. A consequent improvement of the Inspire D-5700, just by the competition I may go for that one, but probably still need an external soundcard for 3D-sound in games.
I am not exactly an expert considering connections. So, my laptop will already have digital S/PDIF built into the headphone plug. Just from the look, I'd say this is the same kind of plug which is called "Analog/Digital-Out" on my old Audigy sound card. Now, the logitech system supports digital optical or digital coaxial as source input. Will this work with the S/PDIF headphone out, or would it require the DIN connection you mentionned? Could this be easily solved by buying an adaptor?
Looking at the picture showing the connections of the SB Life! I again am not clear at all what kind of connections there are (http://us.creative.com/products/prod...Specifications ). Is there anything compatible with the Logitech system? I guess it's no question the Audigy2 ZS is equipped with the required connections.
So, to summarize my question: could I digitally connect either my laptop or the SB Live! 24-bit external with the Logitech Z-5500, so that the latter would take care of decoding Dolby Digital and DTS sound, while the sound blaster would provide EAX and 3D sound for games?
I have also seen that Creative Labs still offers an external decoder with a lot of connection possibilities. It's just no longer part of a speaker system, but rather a standalone product: the Creative Decoder DDTS-100 for $30. Together with a good speaker system, this may be an alternative to the logitech solution, in terms of enabling to plug in other devices than just a computer (another thing I really loved about my old system).
Well, again thank you very much for your advice!

  • Dolby 5.1 with Windows 7 using an Audigy Platinum EX

    Hello.
    Long story short.
I've mashed together three old PC's to make one reasonably ok one as a media center.
I have an old MSI motherboard, running an AMD XP 2.GB Chip with .25GB of Ram and an AGP Video card (Soon to be upgraded to an ATI 4850 AGP Card with HDMI out.
My trusty Audigy Platinum EX has been re used (again!) and after finding some drivers, everything seems to be ok!
    What's the problem you ask?
I cant seem to get true 5. surround, via the on board optical out (speaker calibration wont play front centre, sub or rear speakers.)
I'm running the lot through a Creative 5. Inspire speaker system (using the optical input) if i let the Inspire system sort out the sound, I can get surround, but only if i switch on the 5. manually, and like I said, it won't play via the speaker test in windows or the creative consul on screen.
Am I missing something real simple, or is this an issue anyone else has had dealings with?
Also (as if that weren't enough) there doesn't seem to be any support for the EAX and ESS systems, and I cant use the remote control that came with the Platinum EX.
If anyone can offer any sugestions, I'd be most grateful.
    With Thanks.
    Andrew. (UK)

    Hello again.
I've got hold of a Vista Support Pack that supposedly fixes loads of the issues I've got with an old card on Windows 7, I've pasted the notebook specs and details that came with it, and if you've any idea how I can put a downloud link on this forum so you can download it from me, you are more than welcome to try it. I'm not knowledged enough to put a link on here, but others have done it, so it must be possible... Any Ideas?

Do not install if you have the first Audigy model.
The application does not support Windows Vista 64-bit and setup will close with an error message.
    - WaveRT Pull Mode enabled by default
Does not seem to cause any problems, but if you ever need to disable it, follow these steps:
    - run the Registry Editor (Regedit) and open the following registry tree:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class
    - select Search (or press the F3 key) and type EnableWaveRTPullMode, deleting the value when found.
    Restart the computer.
For more information on WaveRT, access:
    <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/audio/wavertport.mspx"]http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/audio/wavertport.mspx[/url]
    - Built-in Decoder (requires Windows Vista Service Pack )
To use the built-in decoder, make sure it is enabled in Audio Console.
Select ?SPDIF Out (Creative SB Audigy (WDM))? as the output device of
your player and then configure the AC3/DTS filter to send the stream
    through SPDIF.
When you restart your computer, the Tone settings (Bass and Treble) are not applied.
Just readjust one of the controls one time per boot.
    - EAX effects, Advanced EQ and Special FX
EAX effects only work in 4., 5. e 7. speaker settings.
Advanced EQ and Special FX only work in 2. speakers or Headphone settings.
    - EAX effects, Advanced EQ and Special FX (Using SPDIF Out)
All effects work properly, but when you restart your computer, the Tone settings (Bass and Treble) are not applied.
Just readjust one of the controls one time per boot.
    - There is no sound in games with OpenAL support or using Creative ALchemy
Disable Advanced EQ and Special FX selecting ?No effects? before running the game or program.
    - Equalizer settings are lost
It happens after you run a game with OpenAL support or using Creative ALchemy. This issue also occurs in Windows XP, so it is not specific to this Windows Vista driver.
When you restart the computer or run Equalizer, the saved setting is automatically loaded.
    - No sound when CMSS is enabled using Audio Console (4. or more speakers)
Just move the Stereo Focus slider and set it back to the desired position, even if it is 0 (zero). Once the setting is saved, works properly. This issue does not affect EAX Settings.
    - Windows Vista MIDI Device Configuration Utility
Use this utility to change the MIDI playback device for 32-bit and 64-bit applications.
The driver installer automatically selects the first hardware MIDI synthesizer found.
Note: The Audigy 2 ZS Notebook (PCMCIA) does not have a hardware synthesizer.
    Some screenshots:
    - Equalizer:
    - Stereo Surround:
    - Decoder:
    - Mplayer Classic: select ?SPDIF Out (Creative SB Audigy (WDM))? as the output device of
    your player
    - Mplayer Classic: configure the AC3/DTS filter to send the stream through SPDIF
    - Hardware MIDI:
Hope this is of some help?
Let me know if you've any idea how to upload the programme!!
    Kind regards.
    Andrew.

  • Install & configure lirc with an audigy platinum

    Hello all the community,
Actually I try to configure lirc to manage my remote.
I'm using an audigy platinum 2zs pro, with an rm-1500 remote.
It worked when I was on debian, I just follow this : http://alexandre.touret.free.fr/dotclea … tinium-pro [fr]
But actually I can't locate the problem, I first installed with pacman and now this the source, using the livedrive_midi driver in the configure.
After configure, make & make install I did :
    $ echo -e '\360\000\040\041\141\000\000\000\177\000\367' > /dev/snd/midiC0D1
    # /usr/local/sbin/lircd -d /dev/snd/midiC0D1 -H livedrive_midi
    $ irw
Irw work but when I push some buttons, nothing append.
    In the log (var/log/lircd) :
    May 10 05:43:15 mars lircd: lircd(livedrive_midi) ready
May 10 05:43:18 mars lircd: accepted new client on /dev/lircd
May 10 05:43:27 mars lircd: removed client
I read, that a led is supposed to turn on when the hub is ready.
I'm a little bit lost because everything seems to be correct.
    Thx for help.

Yes when you compile from the source, binary are in the /usr/local.
In fact I just solved the problem, but I can't explain how. I tried to install lirc with a live cd of kubuntu, and it works, the led of the hub started lighting, after I come back to arch and it works again without any changes.
    A little miracle

  • Aux 2 Soundblaster Audigy platinum probl

    Hi there.
I used to have problems with using aux 2 (red/white on the front panel of audigy platinum) , bascially
because the volume control in windows didnt have aux 2 volume control under advanced. After contacting support and updating my drivers I think with the webupdate on creative.com aux 2 was listed in the advanced volume control thingy, so I could check the box and untick the mute setting.
But after some formatting and new installation of my soundcard I cant find a way to get the aux 2 volume control back. Its just not listed and I am not able to hear sound through my speakers.
