HELP!!! Baseball team website and no statistics!!!!....
HELP!!!!!
I am currently building a website for my baseball team using Dreamweaver. I would like to implement statistics for players and teams in different areas of the site that are current and entered after each game. For example, one page I am creating is a "stats page" that will have team stats, player stats, and etc. I would also like to have each player's profile page have their stats on it. I would like all the stats that show up in different areas of my site to be entered in one area (like a spreadsheet or form or something of that sort) and after each game I would log on, open it or whatever and enter that game's statistics. After I enter them after each game I would like it to automatically update throughout the site in all areas that stat shows up. I know it is possible I have done it in the past with template sites that I have used through sports home page hosts. I just don't know what to do. I had decided to take the route of creating our team site from scratch finally because it gives more freedom to the structure. I have read through some research that I might have to use databases, I am new at Dreamweaver and not as advanced as many yet, although I am using courses and tutorials to learn as I go. I have the starter pages for the site created and am hosting it with a host that supports Dreamweaver. Is there a way to have different areas of the site update when I update statsistics for the team and players and do what I am saying??? If databases are needed my host does support MySQL which through my research has come up time and time again. Either way I am COMPLETELY lost on how to do this and need help!! Could someone please give me some ideas or tell me how to do what I am saying??? (simplified, step by step from the start, "for dummies", because again I am new at this) Thanks ahead of time to whoever can help solve my dilemma and I look forward to the expert advice!!!!

I'm not sure what this means. There are no special host requirements to use Dreamweaver for your website.

The first thing to do is become more familiar with DW basics. If you start working on dynamic pages without a good understanding of DW, html and css, then you will get completely overwhelmed. Once you have created the static site you can start adding dynamic pages. To do that, you need to start with a good database design - so a good place to start is with a book on database design concepts.

Borderless Linux help... website, and web hosting
Im sure as you guys know borderless linux is a distro thet is a live cd based of arch in the Gnome form. We just lost our hosting by a close guy to the group., im sure he left because we haven't been real active, but i can tell you this, that we just bought a dedicated machine just for borderless, and will be working with sean on it on Sunday. When we lost hosting by him, we lost the site, the forums, and the wiki, just about all of our documentation. I would like if someone could recreate the site, maybe if they want to redo the site all together, or just redo some and add a SMF forums and wiki. Im just using bluehost now, but would rather have it on a dedicated web server. We do have one guy who has volunteered for working on the wiki and forums for us, but would also like another, or a generous person who will just host the site for us. as of right now we have no forums obviously, so that why im coming here, at least since its the base off distro. If you cant or dont have the time, no biggie we will figure something out! lol im praying we will have a new release out at least lol, or our borderless linux mercury 1.0 ..... It isnt a Ubuntu repeat either. Last time i checked we are only really using Gnome which is what makes it like it, and still we have integrated a dock and other things to make it our own look. If people think im looking for money im not at all! i am just extremely focused on making our own distro which is extremely eye friendly. Iv asked for help with hosting the site and recreating it....... We bought a computer for Borderless to be dedicated on so we arnt just not doing anything. Unfortunately what you are trying to do is not possible with any Small Business switch.
It is true that this switch can be used in layer 3 and it will be able to route your traffic on the inside of the network, but it will not be able to route your traffic to the Internet as it doesn't do any NATting.
If you need to block any websites you will need to configure it on your router or firewall.
Just to be completely clear, this switch won't be able to block any websites.

I have been asked to be a statistician bar and athletic team. We are playing Dartball, a game of darts that is based on baseball. The previous status station used Apple works which included a database manager that was compatible with numbers. I have checked with the Apple geniuses online for my MacBook Pro and they did not have an answer to my problem. Is there a program that can be used on my MacBook Pro that will keep up with statistics for eight baseball team?

I have checked that both sus ped and exp. ped are fully plugged in.
Neither pedals show up in the Midi meter in the transport.
I dont know how to set a patch for the keyboard, but if both pedals work in other programs (i.e. Reason), wouldn't it not be an issue with a Logic configuration and not in the keyboard's setting? (Unless I have a separate Logic setting that loads automatically when it detects Logic is booted. I dont know how that would work though.)

I have had the same problem for WEEKS and I cannot access any sites that use Flash. Flash has been installed on this computer since I bought it in 2012. I have allowed auto updates but for weeks the updates never get past Step 2 - is this because I do NOT want the Google Tool bar? I use NO tool bars as there is only 6 inches of vertical screen space. Is this because I uncheck wanting Chrome as a default browser? It is already installed, I just don't use it. I came to this site and ran the check is it installed and the system says it is either not installed or not enabled. Version 14 just downloaded about 30 minutes ago - but did not progress to Step 3 although a pop up screen came up with a finish button, which I clicked. WHAT is the problem and how do I fix it? If this were just a compatibility bug between IE11 and Adobe they have had plenty of time to fix it.

I tried updating my iPhone3g through itunes. Now i'm stuck in recovery mode and i've EVERYTHING even websites and such but nothing worked out! I've also tried restarting and fiddling with the home button but nothing still worked. Please help! What should I do??

Fire fox loads some websites and not others. Clearing cache and history doesn't help.

One of the websites that doesn't load is google.com! It loads some of the page, just some menu items at the top of the page. Then, it hangs and remains in the Loading state (with the spinning wheel and "Loading" in the tab) indefinitely.
The problem started after 3.6.11 was installed. I'm on Mac OS 10.6.4.
I would be happy if you just showed me where I can download 3.6.10. Also, is there anything special I have to do if installing an older version?I ended up going into the clear history settings and setting it to clear history when Firefox closes and chosing it to clear history and cooking and browsing history when Firefox closes. Now the links work fine and the last page I was looking at before I closed Firefox is no longer there when it opens again. Problem solved!

Hi, I am trying to convert my resume on pages to a word document. When i export the file to to make it a word document ie(resume.doc) it messes up my whole resume on websites and pulls up a bunch of random words. Please help!
What exactly is the problem?
Your description is so muddled I am having trouble working it out.
How does your exported .doc file mess up websites? In fact what does it have to do with websites?
Where, how and what are the random words turning up?

New Mac only 5 days old. Daughter accessed a movie website and now popups keep appearing and unable to access any other Internet sites without being redirected. Have deleted her as a user and then tried to restore to factory settings. I did something wrong and it is now doing an Internet recovery. Help I am completly lost and don't know what I am doing.
You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
Malware is also found on websites that traffic in pirated content such as video. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)

I recently updated my computer to 10.6 and now I can't get my printer MX340 (canon ) to work. I have installed the new drivers both from Canon's website and from an earlier post directly from apples website. I would surely appreciate some help with this.

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always. -

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off merely by the seeming complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the behest of a stranger. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
Paste into the window of another application.
Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
5. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start Time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
