Help before I throw this into the wall.

I just received a ipod for my birthday. I have installed software and have loaded music and some podcasts to itunes successfully. However, when I plug in my ipod it opens up itunes but doesn't send the songs to my ipod.
My ipod is empty. help!

Your songs in the iTunes library won't automatically update to your iPod unless you have the correct option set.
Go to "Preferences -> iPod". What setting are you on?
If you are on one of the "automatic" settings (sounds like you aren't though), when you plug in your iPod, iTunes will start automatically update your iPod with the iTunes libary ("ALL") or to a particular folder or playlist in iTunes ("SELECTED").
If you are set for "manual", then to transsfer songs to your iPod, you'll need to go the iTuens library, select the songs you want onto your iPod, and drag-and-drop then into your iPod (which is in the left source panel of iTunes).

I have just purchased a Deskjet 2540 all in one printer - I will only ever need to print boarding passes etc. -
this looked so good on Amazon ideal for my iPad and said how easy to set up!!! In my dreams - I have now spent 10 hours
Trying to set this up and last night was close to cracking:-

The network test results say:-
1 check the printer network name ssid matches your wireless router network name ssid exactly!!!!!
2 if they do not match exactly, run the wireless setup from the printer software to configure your hp printer!!!!!
But no where can I find how to do this and sorry I really do not understand what this means.
Reading Amazon some people have set up in 15 min!!!!
The cost of bringing in an expert to set this up is worth more than the printer cost!!!!!!

I hope this reply finds you with the printer not thrown out of the Window. Regarding the Deskjet 2540 setup to work with the iPad, I would like to help.
There are two ways that you can print from the iPad to the 2540. The first, Wireless Direct. Wireless Direct is a network that the printer broadcasts and the iPad would connect to it. This method will leave the iPad with no other network access while connected.
Second, and more functional, is having the printer connected to the same network that the iPad is connected too.
In order to setup this connection, follow the steps outlined below;
Turn Wireless Direct on from the front panel button on the printer. (number 4).
Connect the iPad to the printer network, Settings> Network> HP-Print-2540.
Open Safari and type this I.P address into the address bar, 192.168.223.1 and hit Enter.
Go to Network or Wireless and then Wireless Setup Wizard.
Select your network and enter the needed information.
Once connected, the Wireless light should be solid, connect the iPad back to your network. To print, open a document, hit the Share button (), and if an option to print is available you will be able to select the print option.

There are troubleshooting steps here.
PC does not recognize the iPod. Very often, just a simple reset cures the recognition problem. Try it several times, it doesn't always work straight away.
Then there's this.
iTunes doesn't recognize your ipod.
Now, could I ask you a favour please? Don't post in capital letters. Here on the forums it's considered shouting and rude. That, coupled with lack of punctuation in your post, makes it difficult to read. Also, it's best not to swear in your posts. My iPod is annoying me. Can someone help before I throw it out the window?

Here's what's happening:
1)I was having some trouble with my iPod and I restored it with the newest iPod Updater. Then uploaded my songs. The only songs that worked were the ones I imported from CD's.
2) Then I downloaded the newest iTunes and and updated my iPod again. Only a few songs didn't work this time.
3) But now whenever I plug in the iPod to update it, it says I have to restore then update it. I must have done this 2 or 3 times by now. How do I stop this from happening?

Hi, it is the original 1st gen 8g phone...os ive never touched it so i presume its what was on it, sorry not very good with these things..its not been jailbroken...slide to unlock is visable just wont slide across and message is on front screen...when i restored it i put latest version of itunes on it..Thanks for trying to help..

Will not power on, or will not turn on unless connected to power
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.

After at least 15 minutes, if the display turns on and…
The home screen appears, the device should be working. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen: . Then disconnect the device from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears even after the iPod touch has charged for at least 20 minutes: See the "iPod touch displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or low-battery image appears , continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPod touch did not turn on, reset it while connected to an Apple USB power adapter. If the display turns on, go to step 4.If the display remains black, go to the next step.
Restore the device. Connect it to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes it and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPod touch. If the device doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring it, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPod touch resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring it did not solve the issue, seek service.

Battery could be at EOL. Try getting it replaced.

I ended up having them call me then was able to give them 1 of my secret questions right and they reset things so I could reset all my secret questions.
Try going into contact support and see if you can schedule a call. There seems to be some issues with peoples' id's and this update. iTunes thought that I'd never bought anything from my computer or device before, and I clearly had, so it's like it got confused. THen I tried to get my questions reset, but the mail never came, which is why I just got a phone call because I felt it was 'real person' time.

IIf the battery was completely drained it might take some time before the phone will respond. Wait at least 30 minutes with the phone connected to the charger. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. If the phone starts up let it continue to charge until it's 100%.
if the broken button will not let you do the reset Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

Without knowing what you actually tried:
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

No. You are the only one. The way I know is that I don't have the problem, therefore no one else can have it.
Seriously, no matter what problem you have, with a half billion iPhones in use, someone else will have the same or similar problem. So knowing that doesn't help solve it in the slightest. As it's new and still in warranty I would take it to an Apple store. Make a genius bar appointment first so you won't have a long wait.

If the phone shows the "connect to iTunes" screen, the data on the phone is most likely lost.
Connecting in recovery mode is your only chance to use the phone again, besides getting it serviced by Apple.
