HELP --------- BI publisher 11g & OBIEE schema --------

Hi,
I am trying to create a report in BI Publisher 11g using the OBIEE schema.
I have created a column like, FILTER(fact using dim between 0 and *:parameter1* ).
I have associate the parameter list to the parameter1.
But When I am running this report with a value for the parameter1, am getting an error like - Data type 25 not supported.
Any alternatives, please suggest.

Error 500--Internal Server Error when using BI Publisher within OBIEE 11g

I'm using OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2BP1 on a Linux x86-64 server and it has been working just fine. We recently started playing around with the BI Publisher component of that installation and every time i go to http://hostname:port/xmlpserver and try to log in with an Administrator username and password, the following error shows up:
Error 500--Internal Server Error
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
*10.5.1 500 Internal Server Error*
The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
I have looked around for solutions and tried a couple of them (created a new Admin user in Weblogic Console and checked the opmnctl status) and they did not help. I'm looking for an answer other than upgrade to the latest and greatest
Any help is appreciated.

Do you have any SSO setup as that might be preventing the ability of the user to log into BI Publisher, hence the Internal 500 error message.
Are you using FMW security model for BIP and OBIPS integration which is by default. Check the xmlp-server-config.xml file from the repository [\Middleware\Oracle_BI1\clients\bipublisher\repository\Admin\Configuration\xmlp-server-config.xml] and see what your security model is pointing to?
Also what happens when you try to access from Administration>BI Publisher >Manager BI Publisher ?

BI Publisher in OBIEE 11G

I have few doubts in regard to BI Publisher in OBIEE 11G. Here they goes
1) Is it required to install BI Publisher separately or is it already provided integrated in fusion middleware in OBIEE 11G.
2) What is the process to integrate BI Publisher with OBIEE 11G.
Please help by providing answers to the above queries.

Because I can't create data set using Oracle BI Analysis now, and the analyses and dashboards in BIEE presentation catalog is unvisible. Why?

I may be missing something, but BI Publisher Enterprise is installed at the same time as when you install BIEE on the server. You wouldn't install BI Publisher Desktop on that server. You can use BI Publisher Desktop locally to create templates for use in BI Publisher Enterprise.
I'm much more familiar with XML (BI) Publisher as part of Oracle Apps moreso than BIEE, so I could be wrong in my assessment.

I've issue with obiee bi publisher 11g permission folder in task pane. It always disable even it enable in analytics bu disable
in bi publisher. How can to enable this permission folder.

Publisher BI Publisher with OBIEE 11g start up

Hi ,
Can anyone guide me on logging in to BI Publisher from OBIEE 11g Home .
I tried login with my OBIEE administrator credentials (weblogic) , but its saying invalid login.
It seems , somthing needs to be done on the user (roles , policies) .Currently its in BIAdministrators group.

Help with Upgrading Workflow OWF_MGR Schema to 11G

We are planning to upgrade a OWB 10.1.0.3 repository (via 10.1.0.4) and also a 10GR2 repository into the same 11G repository on a new database instance.
Both sources have their own OWF_MGR schemas.
Can anyone please confirm if the OWF_MGR schema contains anything other than the deployed process flows and workflow logs?
I am trying to work out if I need to migrate both OWF_MGR schemas into the new 11G OWF_MGR schema, or if I can just redeploy all the process flows after the design and control centre data has been migrated?
The 11G installation guide has a section on migrating the Oracle Workflow schema but it is not very clear on what has to be done.
If anyone else has migrated to 11G on another database, what steps did you take to migrate the workflows schema?

Hi Dan.
You can't upgrade to GW 2012 on SLES 9, and you can't install GW 7 on SLES 11 - quandry huh! Ultimately, here's what you need to do:
1. Install SLES 11 on the new server.
2. Install eDirectory and add it to the tree.
3. Move the system to the new server
4. Upgrade to 2012 you'll never put GW7 on it of course - just do a move/upgrade at the same time.
5. Promote the edirectory partiton on the new server to Master.
6. Remove eDirectory from the old server.
7. Shut SLES 9 Down

Oh - by the way - you asked me about my "Moving GroupWise" book in another message. It is used to move GW, but keep the same version. The only book I have that discusses a move/upgrade in one fell swoop is actually the GroupWise 2012 Upgrade Guide for "NetWare". And while it is assuming you are moving from NetWare, your situation would be very similar. It doesn't specifically cover the eDirectory bit though.

Not able to view any report in BI Publisher 11g

Hello All
I have installed BI Publisher 11g in Intel Solaris 10. I started of from the scratch, created a Data Model, then created a Report. but now I am not able to view the report. Upon clicking the report name or Open it logs me out.
I am logged in as user, weblogic the default user created while installation.

Hi Rony,
You may have created the report initially with Web Layout only - therefore there will no paper layout.
To 'get' the paper layout back, select your Report module name from the Builder and then select Tools-->Report Wizard. Select 'Create both web and Paper Layout' and then go through the various wizard steps.

Problem printing Report with Image in BI Publisher 11g

I am working with BI publisher *11g* but I have problem printing images. Everything works fine if I do not include any images however when I add a image I get following problems.
When I tried printing PDF in output I get
Type /Xobject
subtype /Image
Filter /DTDDecode .......
When I tried printing HTML output I get
Type /Xobject
<html...
....>
When I tried printing RTF I get
{ \fontb1 }
{ \f0 Arial;}
{ \f1 Times:}
I think I am missing some BI publisher configuration. Can you help me in this regard.

Isn't there a way for you to do this via a Package/Procedure versus having multiple queries?
Per the BI Publisher guide,
Following are recommended guidelines for building data models:
Reduce the number of data sets or queries in your data model as much as possible. In general, the fewer data sets and queries you have, the faster your data model will run. While multiquery data models are often easier to understand, single-query data models tend to execute more quickly. It is important to understand that in parent-child queries, for every parent, the child query is executed.
You should only use multiquery data models in the following scenarios:
To perform functions that the query type, such as a SQL query, does not support directly.
To support complex views (for example, distributed queries or GROUP BY queries).
To simulate a view when you do not have or want to use a view.

Dear All,
Is BI Publisher 11g compatible with CC&B 2.3.1.
In the Oracle support and forums, its mentioned that the BI Publisher 10g can be integrated with CC&B 2.3.1 and the sample reports provided with the application can be used for online bill display etc. Can BIP 11g version be used for the same. Please advice.

Setting BI Publisher 11g in cluster environments

Hi All,
We are trying to set up BI Publisher 11g (as part of obiee11g) in cluster env. following the below doc:

But it is little confusing. in the below table there are so many paths.
Table 15-4 Contents of BI EE Shared Storage
Do we need to create all these paths on a shared location?
for, example,
ORACLE_BASE/admin/domain_name/cluster_name/tlogs
What does ORACLE_BASE refer to? is it the shared path location?

We have both BI Publisher 11g and are using EBS R12.
When I create a report in BI 11g, can I download the data model and the layout into files so that I can upload them in the R12 application to be used there?
What are the steps to do that (for the download part)?

OAM 11g reports with BI publisher 11g

I am facing issue while configuring the reports in BI Publisher for 11g while generating report i am getting error
oracle.xdo.XDOException: oracle.xdo.XDOException: oracle.xdo.XDOException: Could not get data source connection for: Audit
i will list down the steps
1. Created a audit database using RCU
2.Created a jdbd data source in weblogic
3. Attach this data source to Audit store in Enterprise manager.
4.deploy the reports in BI publisher
5. created a jdbc data source to point to audit database.
6.Attach this datasource to data modal and then to report. Now when i run the report i am getting this error

Basically, even if you have created the datasource to the XX_IAU schema, you still need to make sure that you enable the audit on the OAM side and that you configure the right filters for the audited operations.

BI PUBLISHER 11G : Automatic Filtering Doubt

Hello.
I have one pivot table with same data and one data table with other data from different dataset. Both dataset are joined.
What i want to do is when i run the report the data from pivot table is showed and the data from data table is not showed until i click in one row in the pivot table.Actually the data from both tables are showed and i want by default only to show the pivor table data.
Other problem is when i have one line in pivot table without matches in data table i recieve this error message : "Error Ocurred" .
Someone have an ideia how to fix this 2 problem?
I'am using the last version of Bi publisher 11g.

From reading your problem description, it sounds like you are working with BI Publisher that you have installed as part of OBIEE. Is that correct?
I also think that you have built the charts in BI Publisher, not Answers and have set up the filters using BI Publisher, not Answers. Is that correct?
The screen shots both look to be from BI Publisher.
Have you used Answers at all in constructing this report?
If not then I think that the best place for your question to be answered is in the BI Publisher sub-space. We can move your question there if you would like.
One final question, is OBIEE the data source for the report?

Did you change any configuration for BI Publisher that made the service go down or integrate or something ..? Check bipublisher.log , sawlog too
If not then you can always restart this Application Deployments > bipublisher(11.1.1) (bi_cluster) > bipublisher(11.1.1) (bi_server1) > Control > Startup
Also its a good idea to create a super first before changing any configuration in BI Publisher.
