Help! Blackberry 8330 keeps freezing.

I plugged my blackberry into my computer to charge and this morning I was in a rush to get to college when I just pulled the cable out and forgot to eject it. (Yeah, I know, very smart move) Now when I tried to call someone I found that it was frozen. Only the Alt and Shift key works. I tried removing the battery leaving it out for a minute and putting it back in. It gets to the Security bar then freezes. The only time it does work is when I take the SD card out.
Is this just a problem with the SD Card? Will I just have to get a new one?
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

  • Blackberry curve 8330 keeps freezing during messages

My curve keeps freezing while I'm sending text messages. It takes a little too long for the phone to go through the commands I tell it to once I send a message for instance: I press send but the screen freezes, but while frozen I press back key and then the mute key to lock it. It's still frozen. What do I do? I've reduced the memory and deleted unwanted applications.

  • HELP - Ipod 30gb keeps freezing

okay, i've reset the darn thing about a million times. all updates have been installed. yet, my ipod keeps freezing. if i am lucky, i get one or two songs to complete before it freezes. i've got about 20gb of music on it now, which i'm guessing is too much of a stress for the little fellow.
this morning i restored the ipod, hoping that this would solve the problem. while i wasn't happy about having to load a library of music back on to the ipod, i felt as if i had no choice. now, however, it still freezes up on me. HELP!

Take it to Apple service centre & tell them your problem & all the things that you have tried to make it work. If your ipod is under warranty they will sort out your problem either by rectifying it or by replacing your ipod.

  • Help: iPhone4 Compass Keeps Freezing

I just got my iphone and was testing the compass function. For some reason, the compass keeps freezing after 3-5 seconds of use. It would move for a while and after 3-5 seconds, it would freeze.
I tried reading the forum but looks like no one is having a similar problem like mine.
I have done a rest by pressing on the power and home button but the problem persists.
Does anyone know how I can resolve this? This is frustrating as I need to reply on the compass at times. Please help.
    Jojo

OK, I called Support, and explained my situation. I was also having an issue with callers not hearing me on the other end (this is when the signal is good).
We went through all the standard help support questions and steps:
Did you turn the phone off and back on? yes
Did you hard reset the phone? yes
Did you restore the phone to factory defaults? yes
OK, looks like it might be a hardware problem - you can take it to an Apple Store for replacement if one is near by, or we can ship a new one to you.
So I have a new one on its way. should be here today. we will see, but I am pretty sure this one will work, Since the ones at the store had no problems.
You do have to figure that these are made in China, and as many as Apple makes and ships, there are going to be a quite few that don't work right (not talking about the antenna issue, that's a design flaw and it has been beat into the ground)
Apple has, to my satisfaction, taken care of me with little hassle. If this one comes working correctly, I will be happy.
I have never been a fan of Apple, due to their closed expensive proprietary nature, and lack of expandability. But this iPhone is currently the best phone on the market. I take my hat off to Apple for creating an awesome new generation of devices. I hope they work hard and stay ahead of the coming new android phones, they do deserve it. (not trying to start any flaming wars here, I bought the iPhone because it is the best out there)

  • Help! System keeps freezing

I have recently bought the new imac 21.5" running Snow Le opard(last month infact) and transferred my data from my previous imac running Snow Leopard using set-up assistant. After a couple of weeks my system froze and the only way to get out was to power down with the power button. After re-starting I was getting the file sign with the question mark, showing that the computer couldn't find my hard drive. After re-startingfrom  the Snow Leopard install disk it still couldn't find my hard drive, so I powered down again and left it til the morning and tried again starting from the boot disc - from here I saw that the hard drive was verified so I repaired the disc and permissions and restarted - everything was fine, no hard disc problems. However, this has happened now four times, the system completely freezes, I have to do a shut down and encounter the same problem each time, although after a few hours I can re-boot and get everything up and running. I thought originally it was a problem with an open application but the last time it happened (a couple of hours ago) I had nothing running, I had just turned on screen sleep. I am wondering if my time machine back-up drive may be the problem but not being computer savvy I haven't a clue. I would be very grateful for any advice given as I don't really know what to do next

I experienced a different reaction from my Mac book pro after installing wwan.
I actually connect to the internet using a Merlin data card for which this update was made but I live in Greece. What happens is my menu bar keeps quiting and coming back up every ten seconds or so ad noseum. This prevents me from doing pretty much anything since iTunes comes to foreground every time the menu bar gets going (every 10 sec). I spent all of yesterday trying to figure out a solution to no avail. I really need to unistall the wwan nightmare so if anyone from apple is reading this DO SOMETHING. I NEED TO GET BACK TO WORK!!!. And next time you come up with an update like this try to make it network independant or something.

  • HELP! WRT610N keeps freezing!!

My brand new WRT610N will freeze at least once a day.  The blue power indicator flashes on the front panel.  It requires a power cycle to get it going again.  This is really BAD!!!!  I bought Cisco because I trusted the name. I'm about 1 day away from returning it. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you facing these problem on your Wired Computer or on your Wireless Computer? Have you tried to Re-Flash the firmware on your Router? Re-Flash the firmware on your Router, Once done reset your Router and Re-configure all the settings back on it and check if you are facing the same problem.

  • My blackberry 8520 keeps freezing and crashing

i can't get onto my phone once i take the battery out because it keeps crashing, is there a reset button on blackberry curve 8520 ecause if not i can't use my phone right back asap thank you

I bought the new snow leopard disk directly from Apple, so it is fine. disk utiliy erase/formats the disk drive and shows a fully verified disk, then the osx install proceeds smoothly. Then after the install, eventually the disk crashes again with spinning beachball. It will either let me shutdown eventually or i must force shutdown and then it won't reboot and must use the cd-boot again. disk utility then says it can't verify the disk (Invalid B-tree node size) and the process statrts all over again.

  • HELP! product keeps freezing and will not w

I have had my 30 GB since March and have had no problems except for it freezing every once in a while and then I reset it with no problem. Since today, my device will not shut down properly or play any song at all. When it reset it, it turns on and I can scroll for a bit, but then as soon as I hit the button for it to do something it locks up again. I connected the usb port and it says the usb port has malfunctioned and does not recognize it. What do I do?

  • Help! Curser keeps freezing up.

My curser has frozen up 2x in the last 20 minutes. Both times it was when I moved my computer. What could be going on?

I would agree: Sudden Motion Sensor is parking you hard drive.
Next time, put the computer to sleep and be sure it is fully asleep before any energetic movements.
And if you are going to bag your computer, be sure it is fully shut off. Sudden movement during the shutdown process will keep the MacBook from completing shutdown, and you risk having it wake up in an unventilated bag -- which is not a pretty sight.

  • Macbook Pro had blue screen of death.  Now hard drive wont wake up.  HELP!  Computer keeps freezing and crashing.

About a month ago, the "beach ball" appeared on my screan.  I rebooted the computer only to a blue screen.  Was instructed to Safe Boot and repair my files.  I got the computer to let me in.  My only problem now is, when i open the mac, my hard drive does not make the wake up noise?  Im not so computer savey so im not sure what im experiencing.  My mac also sees the "beach ball" on occasion followed by it freezing and me having to hard reboot it.  What am i experienceing?!  Also when computer is booting up, a black screen with white lettering jimbo-jamble appears for a solid 30 seconds to a minute.  I am worrying because my macbook was bought refurbished about a year ago, never had ANY problems, and JUST LIKE THAT...i got a world of issues.

"You need to restart your computer" (kernel panic) message appears (Mac OS X v10.5, 10.6)

  • Please help keep freezing

hi.. i just buy my first blackberry curve 8530 and the trackpad keeps freezing, not let me do anything ,
i  should return it to the store? repeatedly remove the battery when is on, is  that more I can do , I am thinking of returning it.. . Please any help

I am having this same problem and I have NO idea what is causing it. I have been searching high and low for an answer, and nothing seems to be appearing. The only thing I could think now is to maybe re-install Firefox. That is the browser I have been using and that this has happened in.

  • Blackberry 8330 Freezing Issues ( Need Assistance )

I have a brand new Blackberry 8330. I got it about a month ago. Its has a One ( 1 ) GB memory card and I've downloaded about a dozen apps to the phone, using the device memory. The phone displays an hour glass icon and freeze. I usually have to take the battery out ot get the phone working again, but to be honest, its a little annoying. I was wondering how I could upgrade my Blackberry 8330's device memory or if I could fix the problem by getting a bigger memory card? I tried to go thru my carrier's support system but, to be honest, it sucks. Any help you could provide me would be appreciated.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) Application Memory, 2) Device Memory, and 3) Media/SD Card Memory
Application Memory -- This is the most crucial; it is the protected (not user accessible), dedicated, and fixed (in size) space that is available as the destination for the installation of applications (plus some application storage, overhead and such). You cannot touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can only install here...there is no option.
Device Memory -- This is space on your BB that you can touch to store files, pictures, media, etc. Typically, it is not terribly large, but it is available to you.
SD/Media Card Memory -- This is what it says...your SD card, for you to store files, media, pictures, etc. It can be as large as your BB OS can support...see this KB:
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB05461
The ONLY memory space you can increase is the Media Card -- all others are fixed at the factory. But, increasing Media Card Memory does nothing to help with your situation.
On some devices/OS levels, you can only see "File Free" (Options > Status), which I think is equivalent to AppMemory. On other devices, you can see all three memory usage levels (Options > Memory). Here are some guidelines to use:
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB15345
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB14320
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB14213
Lastly, it is always important to properly close applications when you are done with them. Using the Back or the Red key will not do this -- those leave it to the app to decide what to do...and some will leave themselves resident in memory, consuming resources on your BB, slowing the overall performance. Rather, to close an app, press and select "Close" or "Exit"...that will force the application to be closed, freeing up for your new use the resources it was consuming. Some apps will always remain running (typically -- BBMessenger, Browser, Homescreen, Phone, and Messages)...but, you should still close them properly - especially the Browser...if it is left on an active web page, it will not only consume extra resources but battery power as well.
Further, anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure. Some have taken to doing this on a regular basis as a preventive measure...some as frequently as once per day. Others have obtained the QuickPull app to automate a simulated Batt-Pull.
    Best!
    Good luck!
