HELP. BlueScreen? Don't know what's going on.

I own a Lenovo T500.  Have owned it since December, 2009.  The computer will sometimes react in one of the following ways:
1 - It emits a loud buzzing sound and freezes.  This continues until the computer shuts off and restarts.  The buzzing sound is, I imagine, the result of audio freezing [music or video].
2 - The screen simply goes black and stays that way until the computer shuts off and restarts.  No sound.  Just a black screen.
This happens on and off, sometimes going days without an incident, and other times happening 8 times in 6 minutes [like today].  I am furious, and do not recall when it started happening, exactly.  Google searches have led me to believe that this is related to my video drivers not functioning / needing to be updated / etc.  Can anyone tell me what is wrong here?

which T500 do you have? i.e. does it have switchable graphics card?
if it does, try switching to intel gpu, does the same problem occur?

    I also would remove uTorrent. You can get adware/malware and other junk from a Torrent download.

    You will have to restore and thus erase the iPod. If you stuff is in a backup y can restore from backup. Otherwise it is lost.

    Given that the file is selected then the next possibility is that you're exporting two files with the same name. When you do this the export breaks down as the second file would overwrite the first. Check the filenames.

    This friend needs to either log into the device to remove activation lock, remove the device from iCloud.com, or reset their Apple ID password to allow doing either of the previous two options.
    There is simply no way to bypass activation lock.  If this friend cannot or willnot work with you to remove the activation lock, return the device for a refund.  The device is useless without the password to remove activation lock.

    This same exact thing has happened to me SEVERAL times since I have upgraded to Lion.  Thanks to the solution provided, I was able to get my Finder Windows to reappear.  Thank you cabooth.  I hope Apple fixes this in their next release - I'm getting awfully tired of having to do it.

  • Don't know what's going on.

    Okay. The other day my iPod froze so just I reset it. Then when I turned it on again the apple appeared and then after that a folder with an "!" appeared and this kept repeating but then eventually turned off.
    So now I hooked my iPod up the computer to see if the songs would upload back on it, but it kept doing the apple and then folder thing. Every once in while the "do not disconnect" would show up but then it would just go back to the apple - folder thing. Every once in a while I saw a battery with an "!" which I'm guessing it means no battery even though the iPod is hooked up to the computer.
    Does anybody know what the heck is going on or if I can fix it?
    Also I'm guessing that me not being able to update my iPod is a contributing factor (because our freaking security thing wouldn't allow me to download updates). But now I think I figured out a way to update it but my iPod is freaking out.

    Make sure you have all updates installed, run Disk Utility and repair permissions.
    Otherwise if that does not help, and you are using the factory install of Tiger, I would recommend backing up your files & doing a custom reinstallation.

  • Unable to open Adobe Creative Cloud. Please Help! Don't know what I am doing.

    I quit out of the CC icon on the Apple Toolbar and couldn't get it to reappear yesterday. Today it has appeared but it is 'inactive', ie. in grey.   • Help! Don't know what has happened!

    I haven't used my Ipod Touch (3rd Gen) in some time(trying to keep away from kids!!) and when I went to use it last night, I was playing a game app. and it started glitching and then froze. I thought since the battery was low that was the problem. Tonight I tried to charge it and I kept getting the Itunes pic, saying I needed to add it like when you first get the Ipod. When I went to my itunes it said the Ipod was in recovery mode and I would have to "recover" it. When I would do this, a couple times it would just turn off in the middle of it and tell me an error occurred. After a couple tries it finally restored and I put my music and such back on. But I have lost my other apps. What the real problem though is, it keeps telling me I have to do all this every time I plug it in, and the home button is not working. If I go to something, such as settings, I am stuck in it. I have to turn the Ipod off completely and start again.
    I have restored it many times and it is the same thing each time. I restore and put everything back on (minus my apps) and still get stuck in something or it just turns off. What is going on?!

    Before you get it serviced, try some more things:
    Connect in recovery mode and restore "as new ipod" without using your last backup to get your data and settings back after that. Maybe your backup contains corrupt data causing your problem.
    Reset your ipod by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes up again, ignoring the "slide to turn off" message.

    To take a screenshot hold ⌘ Shift 4 to create a selection crosshair. Click and hold while you drag the crosshair over the area you wish to capture and then release the mouse button. You will hear a "camera shutter" sound. This will deposit a screenshot on your Desktop.
    If you can't find it on your Desktop look in your Documents or Downloads folder.
    When you post your response, click the "camera" icon above the text field:
    This will display a dialog box which enables you to choose the screenshot file (remember it's on your Desktop) and click the Insert Image button.
    ⌘ Shift 4 and then pressing the space bar captures the frontmost window.
    ⌘ Shift 3 captures the entire screen.
    Drag the screenshot to the Trash after you post your reply.
