Help buying MSI Gaming Motherboard

Hi there are so many motherboards i'm kinda confuse can u suggest me models that fit these specifications :
- smallest , cheapest and i will NOT overclock
- ready DX 12 / Windows 10 / hololens /steam controller / steam VR
- Intel Core i7-4790 4Ghz   1150
- single pcex16 slot  for nvidia GTX TITAN X
- 2 ddr3 slots 1600mh 32gb (2x16)
- 3/4 sata slots
- usb 3.1 and 3.0 slots
- 3 or more audio jacks
- EVGA SuperNOVA 750G2 80PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V/EPS12V 750W

Hi
For USB 3.1 you would need Z97A motherboard which are standard ATX size. 4 DDR3 slot, couple PCIe slots (at least 1 x16 and 1 x8 plus some others).
If you can sacrifice USB  3.1 to have smaller board etc , then Z97I Gaming AC or Z97M Gaming should fit you.
DX12 ready: I believe this depends on graphics card.

Some benchmark results before racing with The Crew.
CPU and GPU info on CPU-Z and GPU-Z applications:
    3DMark Fire Strike score: 6441
3DMark Fire Strike Extreme score: 3384
    3DMark Fire Strike Ultra score:1262
The excel performance proof the brand new 960 graphics card comes with good a high Cost/Performance Value.
Now, check out this test benchmark score of the renowned game “The Crew”.
The game presents an ultra-quality display, 60 Frames Per Second (FPS)
    FPS: Average frames is at:
    Frames: 3859 - Time: 76828ms - Avg: 50.229 - Min: 43 - Max: 56
The comments of the game for your reference:
There are many types of missions that can be chosen from the America’s map.
Street racing, high-speed collision, breakaway from police, sky jumps, zigzagging, etc… make the game quite dynamic.
Now, when it comes to multi-player matches, the performance has exceeded expectations. Perhaps, it is the killer Ethernet that’s working the magic. Thus, this game is highly recommended if you have the right rig.
The downside is that the display intricacy is not as refined as GTA V and in addition, the game FPS is limited at 60 FPS. However, the overall gaming flow and performance is better than good.
The user's comment for using MSI Gaming 5 motherboard and 960 graphics card:
(The following commends are translated from user’s article, does not represent the viewpoint of MSI) ^^
Recently, MSI GTX 960 just launched so the initial price tag is still adjustable.
According to the current product line, it seems like this GPU is going to replace 750Ti. So once all the stocks (750Ti) at the store empties, we are most likely to see a price drop on GTX960.
Once the price hits the sweet spot, it’s time to try out GTX960 SLI’s performance.
The CP value on MSI GTX960 and GAMING 5 MB is pretty high. But the XSplit software that comes with the product is a bit annoying since the authentication steps are divided into 2 parts to go through for using it.
    Enough said, anyways, GAME ON!

NVIDIA 960 card  + GAMING 5 motherboard = best bundle for budget gaming!
it would be nice to see more testing of hardware-demanding games!

  • MSI GAMING motherboard, the first choice of top players recognized high-quality

    Hi guys,
I just saw an interesting topic, and can’t wait to share it with all of you.
We all know that MSI GAMING motherboard is the first choice of top players recognized motherboard,
But is there anybody who knows how could MSI keep quality control standards high?
Now, follow my step to MSI factory for making an exploration.
First, MSI strengthens the inspection of product line quality,
From Q4 in 2013, MSI lead-in precision Automated Optical Inspection on product inspection (includes CPU PIN/Surface Mounting Technology and Dip In Put/Manual Insertion), so the problem of wrong material mounting can be effectively avoided through the automation of testing system.
Exclusive water soluble reflow—solves the problem of residue on motherboards.
Through MSI exclusive water soluble reflow, FLUX becomes soluble and removable. That indeed extends the life of the motherboards that are used under austere surroundings, such as cybercafé.

  • MSI Gaming Motherboards SLI Question

Hello, I've looked through several of the MSI Gaming motherboards, and I've noticed that they all support 3-way CrossFire, but only 2-way SLI. Why is this? Are there any MSI gaming motherboards that support 3-way SLI, or would I have to get a different kind?
    Thanks!

    Quote from: badboy2k on 10-June-15, 18:19:47
    the only z97 board that can do 3 or 4 way SLI that MSI makes is the Z97 XPOWER AC as it has PLX (PCI Lane Splitters) chips and can support PCI-E Gen3 (0, 16, 0, 0, 0), (16, 0, 0, 16, 0), 16, 0, 0, 8, 8), (8, 0, 8, 8, 8)
Honestly, that's a hack and it should be avoided.
The PLX chip comes with significant latency issues.
Native CPU x8-x8 is faster than PLX x16-x16
That's why the PLX chip is disabled in 2-way SLI on most of the motherboards who support it.
It makes sense for 3-way and 4-way, but the performances boost is minimal.
So the best solution is always a CPU with 28 or 40 PCI-E lanes.

“As usual we had a lot of out of the box ideas, but we only had time for making one. We visioned a PC-Dragon design and created it. The hardest step was to give individuality to the dragon. It has to be aggressive, but not too much, also with the character of childish, unique, kind, wise... all this together! Besides, I have to follow the color scheme of MSI Gaming Motherboard Series to unify all components in the mod in black and red. This Dragon mod is born to Game, so I named it MSI GAMING Dragon!” Soccer said.

  • Need some help with MSI Z77A-G45 Gaming Motherboard

Hey guys I want to buy the z77a-g45 gaming Motherboard.
but i dont now if i could use my RAM that i own now. could you help me out.
My ram is: Corsair Vengeance CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9 4x4GB

    As said before:
Quote from: flobelix on 21-October-13, 04:11:33
None the less that Corsair kit should work although a 4x4GB kit is not optimal for a dual channel system (as 2x4 or 2x8GB would be ideal). That matched 1.5V kit should none the less work.

  • Which msi z97 motherboard i have to buy?

Hi guys, i will buy a new motherboard for my pc and I'm undecided on few models:
    MSI Z97 mpower
    MSI Z97 mpower max
    MSI Z97 GD65 gaming
    MSI Z97 gaming 5
    MSI Z97 gaming 7
The first two should be more suitable for the oc, just i don't understand the substantive differences from other one...
I am oriented to the mpower, but I don't understand what it that has less or more than the other...
my intension is overclock the cpu 4770k around 4.5-5Ghz stable and gaming.
    Thanks

Ok, the native sata express is 10Gbps, but the m2 speed converted in sata express is also 10Gbps? The conversion dosn't lose some speed?
Supposedly not. A lot may depend on the device if it can achieve the full available capability. Once the 20 Gb/s devices appear, they would most likely be bottlenecked on 10 Gb/s supported mainboards. The purchase of devices would fall on the consumer as to selection of components for their system. 10 Gb/s devices should be plenty fast enough.

  • HELP!!! HP DX1550 computer with a MSI(Base) Motherboard ?Clearing the CMOS/Bios

I got a motheboard  with a ATI Radeon XPRESS 200 chipset in it that came from a HP DX1550 computer package.
On the motheboard its writen MS-7050 Vers 1.3
It seem to be RS480M2-IL,its almost the same, there just 2 Sata slot.
I did remove it from the old pc and all its component.
The thing dont want to boot.
It identified as HP DX1550 amd64 etc...
I want to erase all that and start we a Basic Bios that would come when you buy a regular motherboard at a pc store...
Is there a way to do this?
Or installating a new BIOS from the original setup and not the HP one?
Thank you very much i appreciate all your help
    heres the link http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF06a/12454-64287-89301-321860-f49-457124.html
Basically i just want to use this Motherboard with another setup but i want to clear all the bios cause it still recognize HP Dx1550 and i cant boot it give me errores

If you flash to an MSI bios your likely top screw up the machine. HP like many OEM computer builders make changes and our bios's will likely mess up your rig and void your warrenty to boot. Best to look to HP for any Bios update.

  • I recieved a new faulty MSI Z87 G45 Gaming Motherboard ?!

    Hello,
I ordered an MSI Z87 G45 Gaming Motherboard a couple of days ago and received it. 3 Days ago I received my power supply so I could start to build my gaming build. Once I wanted to put my CPU into the CPU slot on my MSI Z87 G45 Gaming motherboard I noticed that the CPU slot had bents on it. I quickly contacted my seller and he told me to contact MSI Support since they have this covered. Please can someone help me sort this out.
    Best Regards

If you are in the UK, the reseller needs to handle the RMA. I would recommend calling the re-seller back and raising cain with them until they take it back.
As for repairing the pins, it is usually fairly simple. A bright light and eyeglass screwdriver usually does the trick.
    Thanks again xmad,
But I think I would rather replace the motherboard since it may have problems later. You never know why the cpu slot was damaged in the first place, maybe other components are also affected..

PC won't boot. MSI Gaming 7 motherboard had a **debug code of 67**.
I ran Malwarebytes this morning, it found some stuff, I had it remove them and rebooted. Haven't been able to get my PC to boot since :(
When I begin booting, nothing happens at all on the monitors, the PC itself has power and it looks like it's on but I only get this error code 67 on the motherboard and that's it.
Really don't want to unseat the CPU for any reason to troubleshoot that. CPU is always a pain in the ass for me to remove and place back into a PC. lol.

try >>Clear CMOS Guide<< with power cord removed
    Tried that, didn't work.
Unseated each RAM stick, didn't work.
Removed the CPU, cleaned off the thermal grease, reseated it, replaced grease and heatsink. Didn't work.
Literally unplugged and replugged everything in one by one and none of it fixed the problem. Still receive error code 67.
Have no damn idea what the heck is going on.

In a comparison it looks practically identical to the 125W G46-970a.  Except the G46 has a sound optical out--the features list says the Gamer board doesn't--and the board pics confirm that.  Board looks to have better software than the G46--possibly better sound output, maybe.
