Help - Can not restore 3GS 3.0.1
Help! I can not restore my brand new iPhone 3GS. I have NOT upgraded to 3.1 and won't until I know it's stable, but when I try to restore to 3.0.1 it tells me "Verifying restore with Apple" and then "iPhone is not eligible for restore". Again, I am NOT trying to downgrade, I have not installed 3.1 and in fact have not even downloaded 3.1 I'm just trying to restore 3.0.1 on top of 3.0.1.
I don't know whether or not it's working for "most people", but I, too, am trying to figure out a way to "down"grade to 3.0. Ever since I updated to 3.1, the 3G connection that ALWAYS worked in my usual hangout spots, now don't work half the time. Sometimes, if I switch to Edge and then back to 3G, things work again...sometimes they don't.
I am thinking of taking the phone to one of those Genius dudes at the local Apple store this weekend - do you guys think that they'll restore it to 3.01 for me? I mean, how do I even "show" them the problem if it's location dependent and may not even be a problem at the store?
I see many complaints about battery issues, wifi issues, hangs, etc. with 3.1, but I don't know whether Apple is aware of this?

I have tried in RESTORE mode as well as DFU mode... re-downloaded the latest firmware, and still I am having problems getting through a restore. The phone goes just over half way through in install and stops... just hanging there with the status bar and the Apple on screen.. iTunes looks like it's 90-95% done.. the phone shows just over 50%.

After updating my 3gs to ios5.0.1, I can not restore my phone. It says session failed after about 20 seconds. It appears to be a restore point available. What should I do?

I work for an Enterprise with around 30 devices so far, 5 of them have been upgraded to iOS 5.01 and we are having this issue, the steps below are appearing, these are both on iphone and ipad 2's with exchange 2003:-
- Exchange Calendars not sync'ing, but Yahoo account working fine.
- Create an appointment on the ipad / iphone and this sync's with Exchange.
- Close the Calendar and re-open the appointment disappears, but stay's within Exchange.
- Meetings created within the Exchange Calendar do not synch with the iphone / ipad.
This is starting to cause a lot of issues.

I replaced the hard drive, motherboard, and battery but now can not restore my Ipod 5th gen? Error code 1416, any help?
When I did a Google search on "1416 error ipod 5th," there is some discussion that the earlier version of the logic board only accepted 30 and 60 GB drives (or words to that effect), but the later "5.5" version did allow larger capacity drives. If that info is true, the question is, do you have a compatible combination of logic board and hard drive?

My ipad wont switch on and i can not restore it...help?
My one week old ipad Air has frozen and now wont switch on. I have tried to restore it by holding down the button but nothing happens, when connecting it to I tunes, I can not restore it as it wants me to turn off the find my ipad which I can not turn it on to do and holding down the button and whilst plugging the usb cable in is doing nothing??

1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary. -
I can not restore my IPad and I can not update it . I tried with ITunes and with the device as well
Any help. PleaseIt really helps if you describe what is happening, otherwise there is no way to offer meaningful suggestions. Just saying "I can't ..." Doesn't tell us anything helpful.

Your only hope is to place your phone in to DFU mode and restore it using iTunes (if iTunes allows you to).
Search in Google "Force iPhone in to DFU mode" and follow the instructions precisely. -

ive just updated my iphone it automatcially did it via itunes on my pc and now i've lost all my apps and can not restore from icloud and itunes sync and my apple id isnt accepting my password what on earth is happening im tearing my hair out!!! stupid update

I've just got back of holiday and while there my phone decided to turn itself off, it would not come back on unless I plugged it into the wall charger, it said that I had to connect it to iTunes, but being on holiday I couldn't.
So when I got home yesterday I plugged it into my laptop and the Apple logo came on, and then went off again, then back on and off again, it was doing this untill I unplugged it. So I put it into recovery mode and it said Connect to iTunes, so I did. It then said that the phone needed to be restored, iTunes started this process, 'extracting software' it said, and then once that was done it said 'preparing iPhone for restore' but then my phone disconnects itself from the laptop and then connects again then disconnects again. Then iTunes comes up with a message saying 'iTunes can not restore this iPhone 'iPhone', a unkown error occured (21)'
I have tried over and over again to try and do this but it keeps coming up with the same.
Does anyone know what's wrong with my iPhone and how I can fix it?

If you don't remember your iPad's passcode, you have to restore it as a new device.
Read iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
The passcode is quite secure. It would not be worthwhile to have one otherwise. -

You have posted from a Support Article about Error Code 3194...
If Error Code 3194 is your issue and that Article did not resolve it... then you have a problem.
Perhaps a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is required..
Be sure to make an appointment first...

That error message may be indicative of the Device being Hacked / jailbroken.... If this is the case then you are on your own.

After installing iOS7 I was prompted to make a passcode, I did so and stupidly forgot and now continually am disabling my iPad, ways in which I have read you can sort this is restoring your iPad, however I can not restore without iTunes telling me I need to go onto the iPad and turn off FindMyiPhone! How else can I sort this? It is logged into my apple account and everything! This is an iPad 2 also ASAP help!!

Guess what? After posting, I read another thread on this topic where someone said they went to an Apple store and the tech person there added the optional username and password in the Outgoing Mail Server boxes, and then reset the phone again. Although I had tried resetting and restarting a few times today, I had NOT reset it after entering the username and password into the optional fields.
When I entered my username and password into the optional fields, the iPhone entered checks (ticks) to the right of every entry; it had not done this earlier. (I didn't reset at this time, and the outgoing mail would still not transmit).
So just now, I reset it and the outgoing email was sent!
Thanks to you and this forum, it's a great ending to a few frustrating days.
I hope this message helps others. Not only does everything have to be entered correctly in the respective boxes; but once everything is entered and you press the "Done" button, every box should then have a check mark next to it and then you must reset the phone. -
