Help!!! Can't reinstall Photoshop CS3

Soundbooth beta has caused some conflicts with my Photoshop CS3 (I am assuming that is what is causing my photoshop wierdness) causing me to have to reinstall Photoshop. When I attempted to do so, I got a message to insert Soundbooth CS4. I uninstalled Soundbooth. So I thought. But every time I try to reinstall Photoshop, I am asked to insert Soundbooth CS4.
HELP. I desperately need to reinstall Photoshop and naturally Adobe is closed until Monday.
Note: I am on a Mac 10.5.4, 9 Gg RAM if that helps.

We need more information.

  • Can't Reinstall Photoshop CS3

I am on Leopard 10.5.2. I had the Photoshop PS3 trial edition, which expired. Then I got the full CS3 Web Premium, and when I installed it said Photoshop was already installed. But when I went to license it, it said the license code was invalid. So I trashed the Photoshop folder from /Applications, emptied the trash and restarted the installer to try reinstalling it from the DVD.
But now I realize there is an *uninstaller* that I apparently should have used.
I am stuck right now in a situation where the installer says Photoshop is already installed, so I can't reinstall it, but since I trashed it, it won't let me uninstall it either.
    Anybody have any suggestions? Sigh.

I had a user do this here a the College I work at, this is what you need to do:
Go back to Adobe's website and Download the trial version, once you do this you will see in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers/Add or Remove Adobe....
Run the Add or Remove program for the trial version, once you have done this you can then go ahead and install your licensed version and register it.

  • Can't reinstall Photoshop CS3 extended after new hard drive

The software appears to install on my windows vista op.sys machine BUT when I try to start photoshop CS3 it just hangs..tried to re-install several times but still same ...Please help

Moving this discussion to the Photoshop General Discussion forum as Users in this forum may have additional suggestions on how to resolve difficulties with opening Photoshop.
Blobbyblobs I would recommend checking your installation log files to see if you received any error messages.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Troubleshoot installation with install logs | CS3, CS4 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-installation-install-logs-cs3.html.
Also did you copy over or migrate the files from your old hard drive or is this a clean installation?

  • Help! Can't uninstall Photoshop CS3

Had several problems with my workhorse Photoshop CS3, so I decided it was time to reinstall a clean version. Followed uninstall instructions as far as deactivation (which I later learned was unnecessary), but the uninstaller/installer in my utilities folder does nothing . . . except lie there like a dead fish. Adobe won't suport this version, so I came here to forums, but didn't find the exact question answered. Apologies for taking up time and space if it is there and I'm just too dumb to find it. I'm working on a MacBook Pro with OS 10.8.4. I did try installing the cleaner tool, but it appears not to work either. Yes, I just now thought about restarting my computer and will do that while I wait for some kind soul to lend me a hand here. Thanks.

    Hi Curt,
Well I finally fixed the problem, in a very convoluted way. I loaded Photoshop CS3 from the disk, then I went to my utilities folder and used the new uninstaller to remove, apparently, part of the problem. The uninstaller promptly vanished again. I went to Photoshop and tried to open it . . . the serial number and activation code were already entered in the boxes which made me think the old corrupted version was still there. I tried to open an image, Photoshop started loading and I got a "fatal error" page. Having no better ideas I tried installing it from the disk again, and duplicated the uninstall app which just created another alias, and duplicated the other item in the folder which generated an alias for the Setup app, then I clicked on the  Setup alias and it launched a different installation program which offered the choice of installing, or reinstalling Photoshop CS3--an option I hadn't been given before. So I clicked on reinstall and it took at least twice as long as the previous installation. Lo and behold, I clicked on an image and Photoshop loaded without asking for any serial number or activation code, and it seems to be working. I checked on the two things that had been causing me problems, and both worked flawlessly. I don't necessarily recommend this to anyone who has the same problem unless they, like me, have tried everything else and have nothing else to lose. If the Cleanup tool worked properly, it would undoubtedly be easier that way.  Thanks very much for your help,
    Victoria

  • How can I reinstall Photoshop CC 2014? Help!

How can I reinstall Photoshop CC 2014? I uninstalled through Control Panel > Programs & Features after finding a post that said uninstall/reinstall would fix the problem that choosing a DNG file and selecting Edit In Photoshop CC 2014 does not work. The uinstall worked but I cannot find a way to reinstall. When I open the Creative Cloud app it says that Photoshop CC 2014 is up to date!
What is the procedure for reinstalling? Thanks.

The correct solution is described at CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed.
I used solution 2 and deleted the OPM.DB file. When I restarted the Creative Cloud app it then recognized that Photoshop CC 2014 was not installed and all I had to do was click the Install button.

  • Can't install photoshop CS3

I need to use an older version of Photoshop. Adobe said it was my mac.
I'm on 10.6.8 and can't install photoshop CS3. I've uninstalled and when I try to install, I get: please insert CS4. Doesn't sound right to me.
I called Adobe and they wanted $69 to fix the problem. They looked at my crash reports and said it was my mac. I was afraid to let them touch my mac so I didn't go for it. He said I will have problems with other Adobe installations if I don't hire them to fix my mac.
Can anyone read crash reports and help me out? I'm not sure which to include, mac or adobe.

    I've tried that.
It works so so on another computer, but when I want to copy the files there is a pop-up saying that such an action cannot be done.
I still cannot install it even on that computer.
Is there another way? Or am I forced to buy CS3 all over again.
Using Windows Explorer I have copied a CD's files and directories to a directory on my hard drive to install from there... I have NEVER seen a pop-up saying I could not copy the CD's files and directories

  • How can I transfer Photoshop CS3 to my new computer

How can I transfer Photoshop CS3 to my new computer. I cannot find the original documentation with serial number etc

For downloads of CS3 see THIS thread.
    For your serial number, if Photoshop is still running on your old machine;
Start Photoshop. Goto Help > System Info. Buried in amongst all the stuff in there will be your serial number. Read through it carefully.
If Photoshop is not installed / running on your old machine, then you are indeed pretty much hosed.
This is always assuming software that old will run successfully on a new machine, of course.

  • How Can you reinstall Photoshop Elements12 to a computer that its was there but loss it after installing windows 8.1

How Can you reinstall Photoshop Elements12 to a computer that its was there but loss it after installing windows 8.1

Reinstalling Mavericks depends on several factors:
if you erased your recovery partition
what OS originally came on your Mac.
I'll assume you don't have a backup available that you made before your mishap,  because you didn't mention it.
That's really the take home message here: have a backup!
If you still have your recovery partition:
boot into the recovery partition (command R at restart)
use the recovery partition to reinstall Mavericks. see: OS X: About OS X Recovery
if you do not still have your recovery partition, then it depends on whether your Mac originally came with installer disks or not.
If it originally came with installer disks, you would boot from the installer disks, erase your HD, and then reinstall the OS that is on the installer disks, and then upgrade as necessary until you get to Mavericks.
If your mac did not originally come with installer disks, but you managed to erase your recovery partition, then you can try to boot into internet recovery (option-command-R at restart), and use internet recovery to erase your HD and reinstall the OS that originally came with your computer, and then upgrade to Mavericks if you need to. See: Hands on with Mountain Lion's OS X Recovery and Internet Recovery | Macworld
(the reference refers to ML but it applies just as well to Mavericks).

  • Can't install Photoshop CS3 on Windows XP SP3

Hello, I recently have reformated my machine and installed XP SP3
sadly now, I can't install Photoshop CS3, when I double-click on Setup.exe, it show me a small bar/dialog which tells me it's extracting files, but after that, NOTHING HAPPENS
I left it for an hour, and again, nothing happens. I checked my Task Manager and I found that Setup.exe and Msiexec.exe are running but with completely 0% of system resource.
I tried everything possible, nothing worked for me, I really need Photoshop CS3 for my work.
    thanks advance
    JohnX

I hear ya. that's on an existing system with an upgrade. i've solved (well, resolved) a remote desktop problem with a rollback to sp2.
but on the clean xp pro sp3 system (1st app install after anti-virus and firewall), the cs3 install took about 10 minutes. very fast very smooth.

  • Cannot reinstall photoshop cs3 extended on vista

I bought Photoshop PS3 Extended 4/26/07 and have been running it on a Vista PC.  I tried to launch it in 4/2011, but it said something about the license not working and to uninstall and re-install.
I uninstalled and have been trying ever since to reinstall.  I do install with “Run as Administrator”.
For 8 weeks, I battled with this error from the Event Viewer: Product: Adobe Fonts All -- Error 1907.Could not register font . Verify that you have sufficient permissions to install fonts, and that the system supports this font.
I run the uninstall program after each try, as PS comes up in my program list, but fails to install shared components and the PS3 program.
After trying all the advice from Adobe & Vista support sites (including Adobe's Doc IDs KB401401, KB401488, KB401501, KB402151), I thought it was AGaramondPro-Italic.otf, but no matter how I tried (copying it from my Encore, downloading a new copy, deleting it all together) it wouldn't work.  All those support sites said to contact Adobe, but Adobe no longer supports CS3.  Finally I installed the trial of Photoshop CS5 and it took care of the font problem.
However, it STILL won't re-install.  Event Viewer no longer shows any errors, but when I check the Information messages and the photoshop log files, I see that about 1/3 of the components are not installing, but say: "Result: 1610, Text: The configuration data for this product is corrupt. Contact your support personnel."
    Another part of the installation log is: ADOBE_SETUP=1 MSIRESTARTMANAGERCONTROL=Disable  PROPERTY_FILE="C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\Temp\adbD68C.tmp" REINSTALL=ALL REINSTALLMODE=poms 1: 0 2: 0 3: 1252 1: 0 2: 0 3: 0 1: PDF Settings This installation is forbidden by system policy. Contact your system administrator.
Again, I have tried the adobe clean up script, searching the registry (though I haven't found any help for registry keys specific to CS3 Extended), installed from my hard drive, tried with UAC on and off (mostly off!), have virus scan turned off, etc.
I've spent countless hours on this and am so frustrated that I can't put my installation disc in and have it just install.

Well, reads/copies of data from CDs sometimes do get errors.
I wrote a small command line tool a long while ago that will read every file in every folder under a given starting point and calculate a CRC value.  I sometimes use this to check to see if everything is has been copied properly from a CD to a hard drive.
I have a download of Photoshop CS3 that I just ran the tool on, starting with the folder containing the Setup.exe for Photoshop.

  • CS3 and PowerPC Mac - can't get Photoshop CS3 to install

I'm using a PowerPC based Mac - OSX v 10.4.11. I tried to install the CS3 suite - some apps installed fine, some did not. Photoshop CS3 did not install. Now when I try to use PS CS2 quite a few features are missing, particularly in the filters menu. Has anyone seen this? Please help!
    Thanks

You almost certainly will have to remove CS3 from your System before you can re-install CS2. After you have installed CS2, you can then re-install CS3 in addition.
Use the Adobe Uninstaller and run the CleanScript as well for good measure.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs3clean.html
Then repair permissions both before and again after installing the software.

    Good luck.

  • How can I reinstall Contribute CS3?

I'm having problems with my Adobe products. At first I couldn't uninstall CS3 so I've downloaded Revo Uninstall and managed to delete the programme but I still can't reinstall it. My cd will open, begin to run then just go quiet. I've also bought a copy of Elements 8 which will not install either. Please can someone help ......Please.

Without exact system info, including your network configuration, nobody can realyl say anything. Specific ports being blocked is not a generic failure in teh Adobe software, it's more likely that some security setting or your Internet Router use that same port and things go boom...
