HELP - Can't see my basestation anymore
I was trying to get the true 802.11n connection and in my Network Utility it said I only had the a/b/g settings. So I updated with AirportExtremeUpdate2007-002 and 004 and then purchased for $1.99 the enabler and ran that .... well after doing so it asked me to update the firmware to 7.2.1.
So after doing this, I switched (in the Airport Utility settings) over to the 802.11n 5 ghz setting because it still was only showing a/b/g as the option in the En(1) setting.
Now I can't located my airport basestation, though it does show up in the Airport utility to be able to select it (I'm tapped into a neighbors at the moment).
Everytime I scan for mine, it says it can't be found and I can't select anything else. I tried the RESET button and now it's showing a GREEN LIGHT, but still no go.
Any ideas? I have no idea on what I did.

Nevermind ... got it ... did a Hard restart and ran through everything again. Though, still under the Network utility and info, it lists 802.11 a/b/g as the connection in the en(1).
How do I get it setup for 802.11n for the fastest connection??? Or am I at the fastest already?

You need to enable the display for metadata in Browser and Viewer.
There are several places how whereyou can turn it on; for example, from the main menu bar "view" menu:
View > Metadata display > Viewer > Show Metadata
View > Metadata display > Browser > Show Metadata
You need to configure the Metadata shown in these overlays.
Use
View > Metadata display > Browser > Customize
Enable all tags you want in the left column of this panel. The "keyword" are enabled in the "Content" section of the left colum.

I have just upgrade Itunes (10.6.3.25) and now I can not see my Ipad anymore. before the upgrade it was working fine. I already tried all suggestions from the support page, except re-installing Itunes. any suggestions?

Yes. Reinstall iTunes. If that is the point at which you stopped trying the support suggestions then it makes sense to me, that you move on to the next suggestion and if reinstalling iTunes is the next suggestion, so be it.
However .... I too have issues that arise out of the blue with my iPad being recognized in iTunes and what I always do and it eventually works is to quit iTunes, restart my MacBook, and reboot my iPad.
Rebooting the iPad is the last thing that I do and only if I have no success with quitting iTunes and restarting the Mac. It may take a few tries to work, but if you are that dead set against reinstalling iTunes, then give it a try. -
I'm using web developer1.1.9 ad-on. When I select a menu CSS->View Style Information, I see red outlined div's, etc. but I can't see these outlines anymore.
I tried uninstall and install both Firefox and Developer ad-on but it did not solve the problem.Firefox also have build-in web developer tools, so there is less need for extensions.

The new itunes is slow and I can not see my musics anymore. How can I have my musics listed like they were before?
I have the same problem with new 11.0. Presentation of album data now seems scrambled in 'Album' screen. Instead of albums in alphabetical order with all album tracks I now get albums in the order of the Album Artist. Unless the album artist is EXACTLY the same, the tracks on any one album can be spread all over the screen (hopeless for compilations). Does anbody know how to get the Album screen to sort solely on the Album title?

I can't see the external WD drive anymore. It is lit as "on" but it doesn't seem to be spinning (no noise). Is there anyway to get it spinning again?
FYI: it's hooked up with Firewire.

If that doesn't help, see if it appears in Disk Utility's sidebar. If so, run +*Repair Disk+* (not permissions) on it.
If it doesn't appear in the sidebar, it's likely dead. -
Help, can't see older pictures in iPhoto
In my iPhoto library on the most recent events and pictures can be seen. By recent I mean mid 2010 onwards. The ones I can't see date back to 1999. These have blank thumbnails and when I click on an image - nothing.
Information like event name and date and the number of pictures inside is still intact as as the name of all my albums. The preview at the bottom of the screen shows the photos but after rebuild can still see older events but everything is blank now.
I noticed the icon beside iPhoto library is just a plain white file and not the iPhoto icon. After hitting "show package contents" I also notice the icon on the AlbumXML is also plain white file icon.
I tried iPhoto rebuild - nothing.
I tried BatcMod - nothing
I tried iPhoto Library Manager - rebuilt the photos and events I can already see.
Can I go back in Time Machine and pick an earlier version of my library - if so how do I do it?
I have more than 19000 pictures and am praying I haven't lost them.
I recently upgraded to Lion and am not sure if this is the reason.

Can't see my events anymore after having up graded iPhoto to iphoto11
I up graded iphoto app to iphoto11 and i cannot see my pictures anymore, i just see the events as black boxes. If i open them I see just black squares but not pictures. It is probably a problem with The library, what should I do? Thanks
It appears a yellow big exclamation point.
I think that the iphoto library indexation system got some problems during the up grading, and now also if I see the events with the right names, the events do not point to the right folder anymore.
I could probably solve the problem importing all my pictures in iphoto again, but I’m not able to reach the folders containing the originals photo files.
If I go to iphoto library file and I try to open it, iphoto get open.
One time only I was able to open it ( I do not how, I’m not able to do it again) and I could see a folder with all pictures I modified (originals) and another folder with the modified pictures ( modified), but I could not find a folder with all my pictures.
I need to understand: 1) how can I open Iphoto library again without opening Iphoto 2) where should I look for all my pictures If I do not find the right folder in there.

Premiere Pro CC rendering problems : can't see my medias anymore

I started my first project on Premiere Pro CC, but it looks like PP CC isn't working well concerning rendering, I think I'm going to use my Premiere Pro CS6 again...
Sometimes, the rendering simply stops working : I can't see my output view anymore, only the "Media Pending". Removing media cache, rendering files, no effect. Closing the project and opening it again, still the same. Sometimes I can get the files back by selecting another rendering Engine, but after a few minutes, I loose my medias again.
I've seen the other post concerning preview files lost and the "empty sequence solution', but mine is different : I can't simply get the view back.
The other problem is that when I close PP CC, and try to launch it again, If first have to manually stop the PP CC process, which seems to be crashed as it doesn't completly stop.
OlivierOk, I just met a new problem, with the "unexpected MUTE" bug.
No need to answer my previous problem, I've decided to stop using Premiere Pro CC, which needs to be seriously fixed by Adobe teams. more than 60 euros per month for such a quality is a SHAME.
Let's switch back to PP CS6. -
Router Can't see My Website Anymore since changing its DNS
Neither my old Panther G5 nor my new Macbook running Leopard can see my website anymore since I changed its DNS settings (after server failure we had to move).
I use a Belkin 4-port router FSD5231-4, which sees all other websites on the web now, but not mine. Everyone else in the world, except me, can see http://www.goodnewsnetwork.org.
when mac is plugged straight into the cable modem it sees the website fine. Only when the router is in the mix, does the site go awol.
Belkin said I had to download an .exe file in order to reset the MTU settings. After I insisted there must be a way without using .exe, he said to go into Mac settings to reset MTU to 1400 (the ideal range is 1400-1500). When Apple support showed me how to get in to change the setting of MTU, we found it was already set to 1500, and didn't change the outcome.
Good News Network is still awol.
I looked on Belkin for firmware updates but my model number (above) returns "No documents found". I think updating would be a great idea.
Also, I tried resetting w the little hole in the back, but nothing changed (the paper clip wasn't able to push in the back of the hole at all, it seemed).You shouldn't need to change the MTU on your router, nor should you need to factory reset it; a simple power cycle of it should be all you need if it's got your old DNS information cached.
I suspect your Mac may have the address cached as well.
Try shutting down your Mac, power cycling the router, then booting the Mac and see if that works. -
New Mac OS Server on network, Windows box can't see other Macs anymore
I just put a Mac mini server on my network and the only services I have enabled are SMB, AFP and Open Directory. Before I put the server on the network (and if I turn the server off) the Windows 7 Pro machine I have on the network used to be able to see the rest of the Macs on the network in the Network section... I could see them, log on to one, grab files, etc. This also went for the Macs seeing the PC on the network in the Finder. Now that I have the server on the network though, I can't see the PC on my Macs and can't see my Macs on the PC. I can, however, do a "Map network drive" on the PC and enter an address to one of the Macs and connect that way. Anyone know why this could be happening?
Like I said, if I turn the server off or disconnect it from the network, the Macs will see the PC and the PC will see the Macs, but once its back on the network, they stop seeing each other, so its definitely something the server is doing that's causing it.
TIAConfirm you have unique addresses and unique host names for the IP host names on your network. In absolute specifics, make absolutely certain your Mac OS X Server box is not configured at a conflicting address, or with a host name that conflicts with the Windows 7 box or with some other central and critical network resource such as your firewall or an IP router.
It's also possible you've got (for instance) a bad cable or a bad NIC and that's jamming up your network, though that's less likely.
Your Mac OS X Server box requires DNS be configured locally, or within your network.
Confirm unique host names. Confirm unique IP addresses. You can launch Terminal.app and use the dig command at the bash shell (+dig -x 192.168.1.1+ with whatever the local address, and +ping 192.168.1.1+ again with the local address and not with the 192.168.1.1 value shown, and +dig hostname.example.com+ or such for your domain name) or (if you're not comfortable in bash -- do go learn bash, regardless) then you can use the Network Utility in the Applications > Utilities folder.
It's also possible there's a problem with the managed switch configuration or such, but that probably isn't in use here. -

I'm trying to position an 8 point garbage matte by use of the canvas, but can't see the positions because I can't see the item in the viewer while I am on the controls page in the canvas

Not sure to understand your question, but you can "tear" the filter tab from viewer window and position it anywhere on your screen. Be sure to double-clic the clip with the garbage matte applied to open it in viewer before tearing the filter tab.
There also a local menu in this filter that allows to "see" either your garbage matte, source material, composition in the canvas.

Photoshop can't see my photos anymore
I upgraded to iPhoto 08 and my photos no longer appear in my finder. I can't find the photos anyhere. This seems to be a downgrade to me, not an upgrade. Can I unhide this seemingly hidden photo folder? It was there before.... Not very happy about this.
Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file. -

I inadvertently built a FCP 5 sequence, with the sequence settings in 16x9 anamorphic. When I changed the sequence settings to eliminate the anamorphic setting all my video was squeezed inward vertically. All the initiall video was shot and captured
