Help...Can't set up my new MBP wifi...
Good Day All,
Need some help, today I received my new Mac Book Pro...Mac OS X 10.6.7, 2ghz Intel Core i7 and memory 8GB...I turned it on, did my configurations and stuff but now I can't seem to get an internet connection, I have registered my laptop my Home wifi, but till now nothing...It's saying it has a self assigned IP address and unable to connect to the internet.
What am I doing wrong?

Poer down your modem, router and MBP. Then power up in 1 minute sequence first the modem, then the router, then the MBP. Then form the MBP's Airport icon in the menu select your network.

You can't use the remote app to setup a network. If your physical remote isn't working you will need borrow another or purchase a replacement.

By default the AirPort Express base station will broadcast an unsecured wireless network with a network name of something like: Apple Network NNNNNN.
If you overall networking goal is to replace the existing Netgear router with the Express you can configure the Express to use the same network name that your Netgear is providing.
After you power-up the Express, your MacBook Pro will "see" the new router only if your connect to its wireless network first OR you can temporarily connect the Express directly to one of the available LAN ports on the Netgear using an Ethernet cable. Connected this way you will not need to switch wireless networks in order for your MBP to find it. Once it does, select it and the AirPort Utility should start up. Use the automated steps within the AirPort Utility and select the option to replace a non-Apple router with the Express. -

No, but you do not need iTunes to setup a new iPhone 5s. Create an iCloud backup for anything you want to transfer to the new iPhone.

Yes, with the credentials of the account that the media/content was purchased with.
Content is permanently tied to the account it is purchased with and cannot be merged, moved, or transferred to another account. -
I started with one itunes account for my iphone and ipad, and now have a second ipad linked to the same itunes. Can I set up a new itunes account for one ipad without losing what has already been downloaded on it? I want to stop my husbands downloads appearing on my ipad, and vice versa.
A much simpler solution would be to go into Settings > Store and turn off Automatic Downloads

Your iphone 4 must still be logged into your icloud account. Go to settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of page and tap Delete Account. This will remove all your data from the old device but not from icloud or your iphone 5.

Go to www.icloud.com, go to the mail module, acess the settings (small gear wheel, on the right), choose Preferences>Accounts and create an alias in the lefthand panel.

Sorry, I did not mean to imply that security was non-existant or horrible, just it is online, so no absolutes.
iCloud is really not useful, IMO, for collaborating as only you or your AppleID enabled devices can access the files.
I have multiple online storage accounts with the common free services, but my most used is www.box.net. Many document apps will readily support it, and even if one does not, you can use the box.net app itself to access files, then open them in the app usually. And you can share your online folders, with reasonable controls on access to keep control of who can see (and upload or download) what.
A lot of people I know use dropbox as well, but they are usually using paid accounts (often their company sets one up for them to use to exchange files with clients) and I don't know how much better is the security on a paid dropbox account versus a free one. I suspect the free ones are on a par with box.net.
You could also use add security by using some sort of PGP or other encryption tools to encrypt files put up on the shared folder(s). You'd exchange public keys with your colleagues so they could decrypt those files once they download them. That may be overkill for many peoples needs though.
Another option, if you have an online hosting account, is to get one that offers SFTP access and use that for sharing files (the downside of that is having to distribute the password to colleagues, so you could loose control of it if one of them is careless or thoughtless with it). It seems more and more document-type apps for iOS are supporting generic FTP and SFTP as well as the popular free online storage solutions. -

You should have no need to use the Old Sync account.
As long as device or devices are Firefox 29 or later (They should all be Firefox 30 now) you should use the New Sync.
You may use the same email address with both accounts. -

Is it more likely you have chosen an option on the YouTube website to use HTML5. I think this page offers support and includes an option to toggle HTML5 or FlashPlayer.
