HELP! Can't Type in iTunes Search Bar or Anywhere else in iTunes

I recently updated to a new version and now I can't type in the search bar, edit song names, edit file info. etc. This is very frustrating. PLEASE HELP Thanks.

Have you tried running *Disk Utility* and asking it to verify/repair 'Permissions'? Whilst you are at it, get DU to verify your hard drive to make sure that it is ok.
If it passes all these tests and you still have the problem, post back.

When ever i type into a search bar or box of any kind now it turns blue, and with a few websites that makes it so i can not see what i'm typing, what is the problem?

Like i stated i'm having a problem with every time i type into a search bar or box of any kind including log ins and such the box turns blue, and in many cases makes it so i can not read what i am typing. Tried same website on IE and they worked fine so i assume it's firefox, is there anything i can do about it

For me, the google search bar turns blue once I've typed in a search term, but then want to click on it again to change or add something. The entire bar turns blue. I can still type, but it's hidden. Then when I click Search, it does bring up my search results and now the terms I've written are showing in the search bar, with no blue.
The only way to get out of it when the blue is there, is to reload the page.

Looks like a font problem. 
Firefox seems to be using a font that isn't working properly.

When i type into the search bar on safari, it comes up with a yahoo or bing search instead of google like it normally would do

I've had my macbook pro for about 2 years and any time i would type into the search bar of safari it would always come up with a google search. recently it is coming up with a yahoo or bing search and not google. my settings for safari have it set to google as the default search engine so I'm not sure why this is happening. When you go to search something in your search bar , and you click in the search bar at the top , a drop down menu should appear when it gives you suggestions on smart search right ? , well within those list of suggestions in the search bar their should be a little magnifying glass icon in the corner , click on that and another drop down box will appear, then you can choose your search engine preference e.g. bing , google , yahoo etc. click on your preference and it will use that search engine when you search in your search bar. You can't. It's now integrated with the URL bar. It's a search/URL combo.

I just got a call about this exact issue today!
The person is at a Marriott hotel which uses some type of company called STSN for their internet connection via both Ethernet and Wifi.

I'm waiting for them to call me back after trying every trouble shooting step I could think of. My only guess now is that it's Safari's pop up blocker blocking some kind of navigation or log-in window. I'm going to tell them to turn off pop-up blocker menu choice next.
After that it's turning off Java and Javascript to see if the have any affect.
Btw, they're experiencing this propblem on a TiBook G4. Also tried a new user account and two other pre-existing accounts but all had the same issue. Both with Ethernet and WiFi the problem remained.

How do I get the scrolling bar to stop popping up when I'm connected to the iTunes Store? It wont allow me to type in the search bar when it pops up.

When I am connected to the iTunes Store a scrolling bar pops up which says "accessing itunes store" even though I'm connected. It pops up every time i try to type a letter in the search bar, not allowing me to type. I can type 1 letter in then it pops up. Very frustrating.

Do you have disk use enabled? If so, disable it.
Check iTunes/edit/preferences. With the iPod connected of course. : )

I was hoping someone can help me out as I tried every possible thing already. I can't see the "file" " preference" etc ( circles in red in the picture) also I can't type anything in the search box in on the right ( also circled in red)

How can I remove google custom search bar from about:newtab page

When I open Firefox or a new tab I have it set to about:newtab which is great and all. Just recently I noticed a Google search bar on the new tab page though, that it immediately sets my cursor to. I prefer typing in the normal address bar at top. If I don't think to take that extra tedious step to click on the address bar before typing it opens to Google Custom Search Engine. Which does not have the images, maps, etc tabs along top. Making a simple task of researching something or other purpose just that much more annoying to do, because I'll have to type into the address bar anyways.
So I was hoping there is a way to remove this annoying Google Custom Search Bar from my about:newtab?
Or at the least make my cursor start in the address bar, not the Google Custom Search Bar.

How can i remove the somoto search bar

In my Navigation toolbar, ther eis now a tool that is an edit box aith a magnifying glass. You enter a text, click the magnifying glass, and it shows results of a search using a search engine called "Somoto". I do not want this feature and I never installed it knowkingly. How can I get rid of it?

Please do the following. 
#In the Search Bar (that's the small one on the right), click the arrow to get the list of installed search engines. 
#Click the link at the bottom to open the Search Engines Manager. 
#Click "Somoto" to highlight it and then click the "Remove" button.
