HELP!! Can this be even be done?
I am working on a project that requires some elaborate Flash
interactivity. I would like to get your thoughts on whether this
will work, if Flash and Captivate are the right tools, etc..
We want to train users on how to fill out a medical form. It
requires the users to circle or put slashes through words,
“write” (type) on lines, and to “draw”
shaded areas on a diagram. ( I have the drawing component completed
in Flash)
This is all done in sync to an audio “interview”,
so it will have to pause intermittently, then proceed.Feedback
needs to be given after each user interactivity.
There are 3 levels of learning for the course:
ShowMe (Flash movie, no interactivity, demo and text
“slides),
Coach Me(interactivity, feedback, scoring displayed, not
sent to LMS), and
Test Me (same as Coach Me, but scoring sent to LMS)
OK, other features on the wish list: dynamic text narration
during all 3 levels of learning, and streaming video.
Am I crazy to think this can be done? I have explored
Captivate, Flash, and Articulate so far.. each have different
possibilities, but successful integration to make it all happen
feels impossible.
Please guide me—I am on very short deadlines, and
working on my own. It is about to drive me to lose it!

I completely agree with you that Flash, Captivate and
Articulate are all
great and powerful wizards, and until I read your last
sentence, I was ready to say "Without a doubt, go for it - it can
be done". Unfortunately, that final sentence is
screaming "
get some sanity" at me, so in my professional opinion you
should set less ambitious project guidelines and forget about
integrating three fine, but very different (and sometimes
difficult) products into a time-critical development cycle. Are you
asking too much of yourself?
The
"...short deadlines and working alone' part is the kicker,
so I'd recommend you use the software for which you are already an
"expert". I think Captivate is the best overall single tool for the
job, but then again, I'm a Captivate expert. If you are expert with
all of the listed software, you wouldn't have posted the question,
so my thought is, where are your strengths? If you are a Flash
developer, maybe go that way. If you are new to all, give some
thought to "Articulate" and "PowerPoint" as the simplest solutions.

Can this vertical menu be done in Muse?
I am wondering if a vertical navigation system can be created in Muse such as the one at www.nclud.com.
Their vertical menu seems to be pinned to the left and snaps all the way from the top of browser to the bottom of the browser. It also seems to function similar to an accordion panel widget. In the normal state only the icons are displayed and in the rollover state the menu expands and displays both icons and text

yes of course it can be done in Motion, and its easier too!
The second one first. In AE you comp layers together to make them more managable, in Motion its even easier since you just create a new group and drop the layers inside that.
So in this example you would add two background layers and add a text layer. Then create a new group and add the text and one of the background ( or jump backs as he calls them) to it. The other jump back should be underneath the new group.
navigate into the group and you can add blur and levels filters to the jump back. Then select the text and form the inspector change its blend mode to silhouette alpha, this will show the blurred jumo back through the text). You may have to click on the group itself and change its blend mode from pass through to normal.
finally you can add a colourise filter to the lowest jump back layer like they do in the tute.

Can file size validation be done in client for af:inputfile
if you upload a big file with size bigger than the 'org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.UPLOAD_MAX_DISK_SPACE' in web.xml, then it will take a long time to process. finally, a error message is shown in the page, saying "the file is too large". the whole page seems hang during the uploading process.
can this size validation be done in client site before uploading?Actually our QA had fire a bug for this issue,:
they set proxy and not check the bypass option , then when they upload a 100M size file ,the browser will hung there during the uploading process
and they do believe this is ADF's bug ,no matter how we explain
so we had do some research try to fixed it by ourselves , then here is a workaround may be work ,we have not implemented just have this thinking :
In IE browser we can use the ActiveX to implementation
In FF and Google Chrome we can use the W3C's new API to get the file size:

But I also found in some documents pointed that the Struts and Sprint framework can check the upload file size before the file uploaded , but I do not know how can they do that.

I have songs on my iPhone 6 that I can't remove and when I plug into iTunes and go to "Summary" and "On This Device" the songs don't show up but they are on my phone. How do I remove them? Not even sure how they got on actually since I have a iTouch and keep all my music there. HELP!!
Have you tried deleting the songs from Settings?
Settings -> General -> Usage -> Manage Storage (not the iCloud link!) -> Music and then click Edit to enable you to be able to delete. -
Can anyone recommend a duplicate file finder application for OS10.6 systems? All the apps I find on the App Store are only for 10.7 and later. I don't know how to filter a search on the App Store by operating system (if this is even possible). I currently have a MacBook running OS10.6.8. If you can recommend an app, please post the URL. I don't see any settings on my iPod and can't find settings on the printer .

When I try and download an app, I get a message "MZCommerce.CreditBalanceMismatch.Mobile_message". This is even for free apps, and I do have plenty of credit. Can anyone help please?
With a standard account you need a valid payment method even for free apps.
From the message it sound like there is something wrong with your account or some of the information you entered in the account is not correct.. Verify that the information is correct and then if still problem contact iTunes.

Your next step is, create a new web application and deattach the content DB from new web application. You need to attach existing CDB to that web app.

Chris, The sequence number is the first column of numbers, to the left of the Name column. It always goes 1, 2,3 etc. It is not the same as the Track Number, which has its own column.
As a precaution before burning, make sure that Shuffle is tunred off, and that you right-click the playlist name and choose 'Copy to Play Order" (although technically they should not affect the burn). -

If it says 'Open' in the App Store, then it's on your device. What happens when you press the 'Open' button in the App Store?
The App is on your phone, somewhere. Use Spotlight to find it, or you can reset your Home Screen layout, and then you'll definitely find it.
